My Faither was at this game(behind Bank's goal in the second half). He always told me about it from when i was a wee boy. All around Wembley all you could see were Lion Rampants and Saltires. Law was his 'Man', he still says Law was a generation before his time, his touch, his vision, his reading of the game, just a class above. He's always said, had England been as dominant as Scotland were that day, they'd have won by 6 or 7, Scotland though, wanted to rip it right out of them, and they certainly did that.
What a year this was wish a was there to experience it🏴🍀

Can anyone tell me why the Scotland v Czechoslovakia (1973 World Cup qualifier) has never been released on DVD ?- clips yes but never the full match? For my generation that was the match of the decade -after so long to reach a major competition. Thankfully we have moved on from this tribal "we must beat England" to understand that reaching tournaments is how a national team should be rated.

We expect tomorrow battle between England and Scotland. I love both of you.I will be happy for the winner and sad with loser. Anyway it will never lack excitement.
See to be perfectly honest. I couldn't care what the result is. I'd like for us to beat them, but the games that matter are the qualifiers. So Spain is the next game i'm concerned with. Win, lose or draw tomorrow, it doesn't matter.
@@scottw.3258 There is always a big tension between these two teams which represents their nation s. The game seems beyond the match. It's a history and politics.
@@jianhualiu1553 No offense here mate, but you don't need to tell me about the tensions between Scotland and England. I'm Scottish, right. Now, as i said, for me, i don't care about the result tomorrow, if we win, great, i'll be happy. If we lose, it doesn't matter. We have bigger games coming up which actually mean something, points are at stake, we've got a Euros to qualify for. Whether we win, lose or draw against England tomorrow, it has absolutely no bearing on our qualification group. OK?
