Johnny and Daniel Face Off | Cobra Kai: Season 4, Episode 5 | Now Playing
The fact that Johnny overcame the pressure point attack and scored a clean point was very epic.
On top of Daniel being one point away from winning too.
Johnny countered the KATA COMBINED with Pressure Points. Daniel's 2 best techniques rolled into one, and this beast of a fighter countered this combo attack.
@@Wes_Bradley-Taubnerporém, se a luta não fosse por ponto o Johnny já era 😂
He slithered
not really clean. Kani Basami is banned from almost all competition :D
Go to another angle 🤣🤣🤣 Johnny is a legend!
Ironic how Daniel says he's not the one who fights dirty even though Johnny fought clean the whole time AND Daniel used a freaking pressure point technique to try and win the fight! XD
It is still a technique.
@@ramkemo2502 It is, but was it really necessary here? Johnny was mostly in the right here. He even said before the fight that there should be another way to settle this.
@Jake Collins It kind of is. It's one of the reasons why Johnny's striking of Daniel's leg was so frowned upon: because you limit the function of a ligament moderately or in this case completely.
@Jake Collins You can use clean hits without feeling the need to completely immobilize and arm. It's the reason why Chozen was reluctant to teach Daniel this technique.
@Jake Collins Or to say it better, he knew that perhaps Miyagi didn't teach Daniel this technique because it's one that very few people should need to know about since it can easily be abused, as shown here.
The fact that Daniel used the Pressure point technique is the perfect example of what Chozen said "perhaps he thought you weren't ready or not able." Chozen teaches him a dangerous technique to be used against enemies who insist on war and the first thing he does is use it on a friend. Just shows how out of balance and set in his own ways Daniel was then.
this is exactly what i said
He used it on Krese first. This was his second time using it. You’re not wrong but you also have to take into account both had not only still not got over their original beef but both were being really petty because of what was happening with Sam and Miguel at the time
John Kreese was wounded by Johnnys hands
My god, you're deep
What are you babbling about?
Proud of Johnny for sticking up for Eagle Fang.
2:57 Proof that Johnny is a badass fighter 🔥
It’s so cool because wasn’t he teaching eagle fang how to fight with one hand? Can’t remember if that scene comes before or after this scene.
Before
He pulled the scorpion on that cheap tatic by Larusso
This fight of Johnny & Daniel was amazing and I loved the flashback of their fight and it was a tie. Ali did say that Johnny & Daniel were more alike than they wanted to admit and I really loved it more when they were working together. I also loved that Sam & Miguel were the referees.
Daniel banging head against post would that not be a win in a way
Even his daughter knows he's a bit of a big head,so false is Daniel,it would of been better if miagyi had trained Johnny, all the characters don't pretend their perfect except him, only character I would not miss if he was gone
@@robert-cu1xoliterally Danny boy thinks he is some god and he is never wrong or there might be another perspective to a thing all he does complains , Johnny is literally better then him
@@squidly1369 They needed Daniel to be like that so he could have Character development and grow. Daniel at the end of season 4 finally realizes Mr. Miyagis most important lesson and that he shouldn’t force one way on himself or his students.
If your a fan of the original karate kid then this series is totally iconic and one of the best EVER made !! I LOVE it!!!
I never watched the original, and I'd still recommend this show.
no, its very cringy watching old people fight
agree...and super bad acting....corny.
@@Mitrasuta watch it, because you're probably gonna get confused watching cobra kai without any context. think of this like watching a sequel without watching the prequel first, i am recommending you watch the prequel
We all know if Barney Stinson was a real person he'd be the biggest fan of this show
My head canon is that this shows entire existence is because the creators were huge HIMYM fans
Daniel tried to end it 3-1 with Chozen’s finisher but after the first blow he went on the offensive instead of the counter which allowed Johnny to reverse it 3-2. Beautifully choreographed.
He hesitated too. There was no reason to stand there and let Johnny get in his "what the hell, man?" line. He did the move, but stopped and didn't follow through the whole way.
@@Goldenbaneexactly I’m tired of people saying Daniel was a cheater for doing this when he just needed a for sure way to take Johnny down
@@KingOrangeBeefBoi So Silver couldn't lay a finger on Daniel in his fight but Johnny beats Daniel??? COME ON MAN! Got to believe if this would had been a no holds barred fight Daniel would have won.
Beautifully choreographed??????? WTF??? You mustn't watch many martial arts movies! This crap is horrible!!
@Goldenbane that was hesitation, you do realize the moment happened faster than we the audience can perceive it. They out emphasis on Johnny's line to Daniel but the fight didn't slow down
When Daniel said “works for me” his feelings was still hurt on the inside. 😂
I thought Daniel had won when he used the pressure point technique but I cheered when Johnny countered it
What I found interesting about that was they quickly apply what they learned. Daniel is emulating Chozen, for the counter, Johnny is emulating Daniel from their first match, and Daniel learned that take down from Mr. Miyagi when he was wising off to him. Nome of them ever forgot it. 😂 Beautifully executed take down.
Johnny countered the Pressure Point Technique by fighting deffensively. Had he kept attacking like Kreese did, he would've gotten more limbs paralysed. But instead he waited for Daniel to attack so he could counter. On the other hand... I'm pretty sure Daniel fought offensively to score that first point of his? He literally pressed Johnny throught that entire round.
i think mike barnes can counter the pressure point on chozen too
@@manuellim6284 He never did counter the pressure points though. Had Chozen used them against Mike, things would've gone differently.
Daniel combined his 2 best moves (Kata and Pressure Points), and yet Johnny still managed to counter this combo attack. That's insane
4:21 Hawk has been de-hawked
Daniel San forgets...Miyagi don't need to fight. Win or lose Miyagi already win.
Ffs Johnny's "Go to another angle" still cracks me up.
We could always do a redo people always love a rematch to break a tie
This shows that Johnny is better simply because his skills haven't improved nearly as much as Daniel's suppossedly has
I remember when I saw the original movie thinking this would be so great if they got actors who actually trained in karate. I still think so, but it's great to see now because it is so iconic.
I laughed every time when both Daniel and Johnny knocked each other out, and the match was a tie. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
and Johnny's Line: Go to another Angle? This is not ESPN.
@@jimnfl7134 That's funny, too. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is one of those shows you never knew you needed till you saw it. I grew up in the 80's on the original movies, and who knew that all we ever really wanted was a spin off Karate Kid TV series. Lol. Now it's 5 seasons in. Great show. Such a welcome break from todays norm. If this were done in the 80's, it would have easily lasted 10 seasons, and it still just might last 10 seasons now with season 6 coming.
Nice takedown by Lawrence. He's learning technique.
Johnny and Daniel will always be yin and yang. The show is called Cobra Kai. The series will end with Johnny taking over Cobra Kai with Kreese's blessing.
Honestly I'd rather Johnny just stick with Eagle Fang or Miyagi Fang. Eagle Fang is HIS dojo and it's his way of creating the dojo Kreese should've back in the 80s. I also prefer Miyagi Fang cause it's nice seeing Johnny teach more students alongside his friends.
Disagree. Johnny needs to move forward with his own legacy, not continuing the one started by Kreese.
It still looks to me like Daniel just stopped using the pressure point technique after Johnny called him out for cheating.
The "Sweep the leg" flashbacks, man
These 2 are like brothers. It cracks me up
Like Dante vs Vergil DMC, Zeus vs Poseidon Percy Jackson, Ozai vs Iroh, Megatron vs Optimus Prime, Saruman vs gandalf, Draco vs Harry
It would’ve been wild if Miguel decided to stay with Daniel and Sam decided to go with Johnny
Jajajaj..porfavoe..."Dany"no puede ni pararse fluidamenteeee!!!😆😆😆😅
I don't think the pressure point technique was really necessary at this point. The best moment for Daniel to use that was against Terry Silver, but because he wasn't thinking straight when fighting Terry, he ended up losing the battle.
1:39 Mitch betrayal foreshadowing in S5 Ep. 10
That's not really foreshadowing to his betrayal. At least, I don't see it as that.
That’s not foreshadowing lol 😂
@@justalpha9138I think they’re saying that Mitch still believes in the cobra Kai philosophy
Johnny sobered up and didnt want to fight at first. You can tell when he asked Daniel "dont you think you're wrong about anything" and "I just want what's best for them". Daniel wanted smoke
Hawk now looks like the firestarter guy
This is so 😎 how two kids are serving as referees.
😂double knocked out 😂😂😂
There are things Miyago taught Daniel that don't always work. Johnny's right on this one.
The real bully has been Daniel all along
No it hasn’t!
No. They both have flaws and were just kids. As adults, Daniel’s flaws became more pronounced and Johnny’s good qualities did the same. They’ve both grown to the point where they see each other as equals. I don’t think either character believed they were doing the wrong thing or being a bully when they were kids.
Yeah people seem to forget the beach incident in the first movie where Daniel interjected himself, like an idiot decided to be the White Knight.. and then threw the first punch. Johnny wasn't right in that situation either but Daniel definitely was wrong for trying to be a savior of a woman who was trying to make Johnny jealous and using Daniel to do it
The real bully was cobra kai
@@Raptorlord241 Always Cobra Kai
I love karate
Jhonny really is one badass fighter.
Daniel is totally nerfed. In the series it seen that after the first tournament, Daniel increased his skills and continued training with his own dojo while Johnny sank into depression and lost his personal relationships. But it was enough to return to training for a month to reach Daniel's level and draw in this fight? If it was realistic, the real Daniel would sweep the floor with Lawrence.
I totally get what you mean. As being a martial artist myself it’s really from that muscle memory of doing hundreds of times over and over. Even with Daniel techniques they were fast enough to actually be useful during a tournament.
Well, in that case Cobra Kai should’ve won both trophies. Robby and Tory were training a lot more than Hawk (the guy who gained his confidence in the last moment with a kiss) and Sam )being unstable and unbalanced the whole season). It’s the script.
You're right, but Daniel was hungover and was also underestimating Johnny as well.
If it was realistic Daniel would have gotten stomped by Johnny back in The Karate Kid. Johnny was a black-belt in Karate and a two-time champion who trained for years, and then a kid who trains in Karate for two months comes and beats him. Realistically makes no sense at all, so suspension of disbelief is pretty much necessary for this entire universe.
@@SonictheHedgehog1st That was a tournament with points and rules. Besides, that Lawrence was totally superior and he even disabled his foes leg until Daniel used the kata to defeat him. But in the serie they fought without rules and with all their abilities.
The ying and yang are equal and opposite, for without the one, there cannot be the other.
god damn it Johnny, SWEEP THE GOD DAMN LEG!
Only thing i didnt like about this scene was eli coming in at the end with his mohawk shaved and its supposed to be like a "omg no😨💔" moment like bro its gonna grow back lmao
Johnny the bad ass forever love him.❤❤❤❤❤
its funny how larusso is actually the bully and johnny was the good guy.
?
Danny Boy better be glad he didn't try the crane... Johnny had that counter down pat, blast him straight in the nuts and bolts then elbow elbow ELBOW to the face for the win...
It was quite an overcoming after the pressure point strike. But honestly, is it possible to recover that quickly? I thought pressure points really hurt and take a while to recover from
Remember during KK1, the scenario overall. It was through Daniel's eyes and perception is a big filter. You saw Johnny and his inner group of Cobra Kai as jock bullies, and Daniel a new kid as a target and an outcast. But you never saw the Cobra Kai's really targeting anyone else, so they were not the typical bullies of the school. It was only Daniel. Daniel stepped into a spot with Johnny's girl who they were about to break up or had just freshly broken up, Johnny's emotions were high and Daniel was messing with his personal life. Watch the beach fight again, Johnny pushes Daniel with the radio, Daniel came at Johnny twice and just sweeped him, Daniel came at him again and Johnny gave him one kick to ground him, then half taunted but also checking if it was finished, then Daniel sucker punched him, only then did Johnny let loose. So imo that was pretty self defence based and reserved use of Karate for the most part, especially for an angry teen. Of course Johnny hated Daniel after and wanted to make his life hell... high schoolers or even men are hella protective and amped when it comes to girls. Johnny also had a trouble up bringing according to this series' narrative. But he was never a straight bully, thug or all that. So it makes sense he has sense and deeper considerations at times. Here Johnny is the one who wants the scenario to dissipate but Daniel only wants his way. Perhaps Daniel's success during adulthood and likely being in control and having his way has increased his ignorance to other's point of views and arrogance.
I've just noticed that Johnny and hawks point were very similar when Johnny scored the second point
That's the sensei showdown.
2:40 a secret move that worked on Daniel and Kreese, but NOT Johnny, that's why I believe Johnny will always be the superior fighter. Johnny would even hold his own against Chozen and Mike Barnes
Daniel held his own against Johnny, but could not hold his own again Chozen, but Mike Barnes held his own against Chozen, so that says otherwise. So if Daniel held his own against Johnny but could not against Chozen, that means Chozen is a better fighter than Daniel and Johnny and if Mike held his own against Chozen but Daniel couldn't who held his own against Johnny that means Mike is a better fighter than Daniel and Johnny too.
Ralph never aged...❤
Funny thing about the pressure point technique is in this fight it was just over the top, pretty sure he could've gone for a straight punch for a point instead and won as the technique is only really suited for real fights where you need to stop your enemy from being able to continue doing harm without harming them beyond reason, here there are refs and both are fighting according to rules so they'll stop with each clean hit.
I truly hope this is the very last time those 2 fight it out. It just gets tiring seeing those 2 scrap it out all of the damn time.
I want them to fight so Johnny beats daniel
Looking back I’m realizing that Daniel really was the more of the petty one.
Daniel using face app as a grown old man😂 he still looks the same but with wrinkles
blah... If this is the best this show has to offer, I'm so glad I never wasted my time with this show.
Daniel and Johnny face to face each other
"I just want is best for them" "WE MUST FIGHT THEN" "OMG REALLY? YOU FIGHT DIRTY!" God Daniel is such an asshole in this series.
Not the same Daniel as in the movies. But I guess people can change for better or worse as the years go on.
Larusso body hit first so would that mean Johnny won this fight? It's so close u need slo mo haha but I loved this fight brought back serious nostalgia from years ago.
Daniel-San about to crossover to the "Dark Side".
I hope that ralph macchio can still kick high, at least a high front kick. He didn't throw any high kicks in season 5 except for the last one
He is 60. Believe me when you get old you can’t do nearly as much as you did decades ago
now i know where did Eli,s Final Score Came From The Style Where Johnny Jumps And Take Down Larusso And Use An Axe Kick
"Just like old times".
I never could stand Daniel. Wax this. LOL
A Focused Johnny Lawrence is the most dangerous fighter than all of them.
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅underneath it all they have always been good friend
4:42 “dousing the fire with gasoline?” Foreshadowing Chozen? 🤔
daniel kinds ticks me off here, he, better than anybody, knows the importance of fighting back to defend self and others...true sometimes fighting is not the answer but sometimes it is the only answer
1984: "Daniel Larusso, Miyagi Do Karate vs John Lawrence, of the Cobra Kai!" 2019: "Daniel Larusso, Miyagi Do Karate vs John Lawrence, of Eagle Fang Karate!"
You know what’s great about this show? It’s freaking real karate. Not a bunch of jump reverse spin kicks, and flips, stuff that looks pretty on film. Just front kicks, side kicks, round kicks, punches, chops-stuff that looks boring but does what it’s supposed to do. I’m glad they didn’t try to polish it up with a. Much of big budget choreography. It keeps to the spirit of the original films…
I have to go with johnny on this one. Johnny didn't even want to fight until Daniel LaPUSSO decided to make things difficult as usual. Johnny was the bigger man here. I don't care if it was a tie or not.
This is basically what would have happened in 1984 if Kreese hadn’t told Bobby and Johnny to fight dirty.
Claramente o Daniel se saiu melhor nessa luta
Gimme season 6 now
Danny boy hit the floor first!!!! 4:04 the footage proofs it, you can see as well as hear it.
That guy with the blue and white jacket looks like the other guy from wordlaw network.
They're both in their 50's and this is just sad. I miss the 80's just like everyone else but write something fresh for God sakes.
Daniel and Johnny both lost the fight because they failed to work together fairly.

Such a sad scene… but ultimately
Great example to grill a beef.
4:30 that’s a stupid question who do u think cut hawks hair???
3:46 was 🤯
BAHAHAHAHAHA Best ending
Do you think Daniel and Johnny could’ve gone into sudden-death overtime before Eli/Hawk showed up with his hair cut off?
Larusso was the first person to be down so it was Johnny
If you look closer at 3:49 Daniel falls first and 4:05 if you pause it at exactly 4:05 you see in the phone right before they both fell you can see daniel fell quicker

There’s a real Johnny Lawrence fanboy thing going on in here. It’s got dragonball vibes lol. Too much vegeta, too much Johnny. Kills me. The big badass bad guy 😂.
