On July 6, 2021, an investigator posed as a 15-year-old girl on an anonymous social media platform and attracted the attention of a 29-year-old man. After the man was aware of the girl’s age he continued to pursue contact. He eventually asked for a home address in La Crosse, WI.
Instead of a 15-year-old girl, he was greeted by officers and the undercover investigator he was actually messaging with.

  • 1/30/24 UPDATE: He just got arrested for 1st-degree sexual assault of a child and incest with a child... ----- His case also just recently closed. He plead guilty to the charge “Attempt 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of Child” and his second charge “Use a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime” was dismissed but read in. Here’s what WI Court Records say: “CRT: sentence withheld 3 years probation w/cond: follow sex offender registry as a condition of probation & it will also be a lifetime requirement… he is allowed to see his own children & step daughter as allowed by the family court”

    • Did the courts rule of any requirements for him to go through therapy? His journal sounds like he was trying to minimize being a predator by being a "good guy" and yet not admitting to his impulsive behavior. Years of probation and being on a sex offender list doesn't really address the core problem of a man who can't control his impulses and desperately needs therapy.

He had a wife and two boys, once of which was in my grade. This man taught EVERYONE and we all knew him. He didn't freak out, didn't scream or try to fight, didn't try to proclaim his innocence... he clearly knew EXACTLY why the cops were there without even having to ask. My heart goes out to this guy's wife... I can't even begin to imagine what it must feel like to come home & find out your significant other was arrested for trying to cheat on you WITH A CHILD. That poor woman is probably going to need decades of hardcore therapy after this.

    • “Know who they are as a person.” Do you think the only way to truly know someone is to know their deepest darkest sexual desires? Or do you think being a pedophile is more closely attached to a persons overall identity, like being gay, more so than any other sexual desires. Where is the distinction drawn? If there is no distinction and it’s just about any deep secret desire, then you could argue you don’t truly know anyone as a person. However, I’m assuming you’d argue that being a pedo is more of an identity of who you are as opposed to just any old hidden sexual desire that people keep to themselves.

    • @@Hawaii567 I am not defending this man for what he could have done. He obviously does see children as sexually viable to the point of approach. However, There is always the possibility that he does not see his own children as sexually approachable, similar to how a brother may like woman but not see their own sister or mother as sexually approachable. However, modern philosophy dictates that a person's identity is defined largely by their sexual desires, preferences, and perceived gender identity. So yeah, I guess, depending on who you ask, they may claim that they "know who they are as a person" without actually knowing anything else about them, since the modern identity is so deeply attached to sexual desire. This man wanted to have sex with a minor, and he acted on those urges. Clean, cut, and dry, this is enough for me to form an opinion on his character. Personally, I draw the line on acting on desire, since the subconscious is uncontrollable but the conscious is. I have had urges to become violent with people, maybe even to the point of wanting to kill them, but I refused to act on them. Does that make me a murderer? On the contrary, if someone tells me that they are attracted to children, I'm really not trying to have anything to do with them because it doesn't sit right with me. So maybe I'm a hypocrite, and I think a little bit of hypocrisy in the face of carnal danger is fine.

It seems to me that his attraction to minors is one of the things being addressed by his therapist. Alot of people see a therapist, but they are still legally responsible if they commit or attempt to commit a violent crime. The OP said the guy is a sick individual and he hopes that the guy is punished accordingly. Diary notwithstanding, I don't believe that he was. And worse, I believe giving him open contact with his children, and even allowing him to reside with a step child puts all those children along with any others (well, of his preferred gender) in danger. If this guy groomed my daughter or molested my son in a public restroom at a little league game, I would be livid that the system caught him, knew what he was all about, then just turned him loose to victimize more children. I mean, those people in law enforcement have to be asking themselves what is even the point?- if the courts are just going to act like it's no big deal.

Then you have these creeps going for 15 year olds. I don't know how these people can't understand that there isn't a way to get away with it much anymore. With technology, there is traces of you. You wouldn't be able to text an underage at all...think about it, that's permanent evidence. Then yo u have the parents monitoring their children. They don't have a license so they can't just leave wherever they want. These child predators and pedophiles are pretty stupid.

    • @Worm Bat Well, let's crunch some numbers. 3,659,289 Americans were born in 2021, and we estimate the pedophile population to be around 5%. (Probably more, since they are reluctant to be identified even for clinical purposes.) That means roughly 183,000+ pedophiles were born last year in the States. Only 100,000 people are arrested for sex crimes in the U.S. at most, in any given year, and that includes those who offended against an adult. So we're not even detecting the majority of people who are primarily attracted to children, either because they don't offend, or because they don't get caught. The dumb ones get caught, that's for sure, because we can see them... But the number imply that the majority of them are very smart, and practice evasion. Some of them, are actually cops, judges, and jail guards as well. That's a little alarming, when you consider how many get off with a warning, or how many pedophile killers end up dead. I guess what I'm saying is... don't bet your entire world view on stupid TV shows and their fictional narratives?
