We created the film to showcase the trading activities and lifestyle of traders in Maigatari Market which has rich history dated back many decades. Thousands of livestock traders from Nigeria and other West African countries patronize the market every Thursday; however, it is estimated that numbers can reach almost a million people towards the end of every year (Christian and Islamic holiday seasons) and the turnover is estimated to be more than 1 billion Naira. Maigatari town also serves as the base for Jigawa’s Export Processing zone. Basic infrastructure has been developed to support this initiative.
