Koala Visits: Ep. 1 | Tour of the Midlands Air Museum
Aight troops! It's been a while hasn't it? But! We're back now. There'll be lots of interesting content coming soon, including "Your Favorite Tank Sucks" episode 3, but first, let's take a look at one of Britain's best kept secrets... The Midlands Air Museum!
In preparation for what would be a research and footage-gathering trip to the UK, I made an itinerary of museums to visit. Shockingly, on every list of military history museums in the country, Midlands' was missing... It shouldn't be! With a Sea Harrier, multiple Lightnings, Meteors and Phantoms, a MiG-21, a Panavia Tornado, and even an Avro Vulcan, this place was fantastic!
Thanks again to the museum for letting me come in after hours to film this little lookaround, I'll definitely be back!

I MESSED UP! The missile under the Lightning F.6 at Midlands is the Firestreak, not the later Red Top with the frontal locking capability I talked about. You can recognise them from each other by the Firestreak having a pointed nosecone while Red Top has a rounded nose, I am just an idiot. Please crucify me in the replies Koala out

Great museum! I went there a while back when they let people go in the vulcan, the thing has a surprisingly tall cockpit, I believe it has 2 levels.
Must go back to that museum, not been for years. Was lucky enough to be able to go up inside the cockpit of the Vulcan.

If i might suggest a further air museum to visit, RAF Cosford has a fantastic air museum with all 3 V bombers, an ME262, one of the TSR-2's and a further 3 hangars of aircraft its definitely worth a visit!
Cosford was on the list, but unfortunately I had to spend the day I HAD put aside for it revisiting the national archives in Kew for research purposes, so I missed out on that one. Did get a lot of footage from IWM Duxford though, including the TSR-2 there
@ArmorCast ah that's a shame, glad you could see a TSR-2 nonetheless, its my local museum and I only realised recently how bloody good of a museum it is, definitely worth a visit in the future if at all possible

I thought the Boddington Tank Museum was the coolest museum in the world but now I dunno... this is definitely giving it a run for the money,
Imperial War Museum Duxford is probably the best I’ve ever been to, MUUUCH bigger than this, with plenty of tanks as well as aircraft… but that’s usually really crowded, this place was bloody empty even when we got there!
@@ArmorCast The variety it had all lying around on a little patch of grass,, a Hind, a Tornado,,, Super Sabre.. Canberra.. Starfighter... Voodoo... Phantom... Meteor?! a VULCAN,... Pretty impressive collection for a little spot in the Midlands,

Nah, that’d be MONTHS outdated now. I decided not to bother making it after the short I posted about it got such a null response, seemed people just weren’t that interested in it

Yeah just chipped/faded unfortunately. These things have been outside in the weather for many years

I actually reported this way back when Lightning was added! 😂 Didn’t seem to do any good, I guess they want to ignore that feature so they can balance the Lightning lower down
