bro, playing fallout 4 on my base model PS4 back in 2015 i was sitting there for three minutes at a time to fast travel to the middle of boston at 25 frames a second you’ll be fine 😂
Good ole downtown Boston 🪖
Yoo right? Lmao felt bad when ppl shit all over Cyberpunk on release….none of them obviously ever played Skyrim.
And then immediately crash lol
And those issues were one of the worst aspects of that game. And that was a decade ago. It's unforgivable now.
I bought the Series S back in the early days of the new gen only because Series X and Ps5 were just impossible to find. Now that you can buy ps5 and series X I don’t feel the need to upgrade. Series S with Game pass works like just fine
Disagree vehemently. If you only own a series S, you're missing out on a lot. Starfield looks fugly at times on the S, and it's riddled with bugs and sometimes crashes for me too. I'd seriously recommend on upgrading.
Seriously? Mine runs just fine@@joeycheckers114
How do you seriously recommend he upgrades lol😂 like wtf you don't his situation.. I have the s and don't feel the need to upgrade bc I travel all the time nvr home so the S is perfect in that respect.. who wants to haul around a mini fridge
@@joeycheckers114thats..just you literally its the exact same stop truing to ruin peoples experience by telling them to upgrade when its perfectly fine
@@joeycheckers114 it crashes on everything, PC, X, and S. That’s the game not the device lol
I have both of these consoles(mine is an S and my fiance's is an X) and I tend to play in between the two depending on the room I am in, and honestly the Series S is just fine if you don't care about some marginal graphics differences. That said, reflections and lighting do look much better on the X, but this isn't really something that will impact overall enjoyment of a game, I think.
This is probably the most helpful response I've seen on this topic. I've been mulling over whether I ought to upgrade my gaming laptop to play Starfield or just start saving and get an Xbox (tough decision as all my friends are getting PS5's) and Starfield is the only game so far that I really feel like I'm missing out on. However considering the Series S price point I have been considering it.
Gamepass is also a great deal. So many excellent titles to choose from, with many being able to be streamed from the cloud with relatively few issues if you have decent internet speeds. I definitely recommend Xbox over PS, and that’s coming from someone who has switched back and forth from both. I preferred PS4 over the Xbox one, but MS did great with their current lineup.
@@LanithirCF Thank you for the input! Definitely something to consider.
@nelsonmeranski6970 iv just loaded up and played it and it's fantastic on the s
frame rate on series x is chugging at times big time
Thank you for this mate. Just saved me 200 bucks.
Helll yeahhhhhhh
For how much the series S costs it’s kinda nuts it can play such a huge game and still look half decent
The bare minimum I expect of a system is to play the games it's advertised it can handle
@@OMDoran Don't buy a nintendo then, hahahaha!
@@xboxrules8472 yeah they do seem to get a bit of a free pass
I am very impressed with the Series S. The textures are blurrier and the detail less, but it's actually not worth upgrading over.
But if you can save up for an XSS then you can save longer until you can afford an XSX. The extra time and money will only be a memory but the Series X sitting on your shelf will be a daily reality for years to come.
i love my series s.i bought it so cheap and graphics are brilliant.gamepass is nice
Is it me or is the series s version have brighter colors which I like
Playing on my Xbox one x! It plays great wit cloud gaming it’s letting me hold on to my one x a lil longer haha
It all depends on the tv or monitor you are using in order to get the best out the console the display has to be at least 4k but even better if you have an oled display then you will really see the difference but if you just using regular tvs then it don’t matter which console you choose
I have x and it looks amazing but mostly of the qled Samsung Tv I have 30 fps feels like 45 with the game motion plus
I played it on monitor on SS, and it really feels like around 45
But that adds a ton of input lag tho
@@Nav3n haven’t noticed anything
Where is MichealM28’s comment saying that this game is trash and that the PS5 is better? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You know it’s coming! You also know that they will reply at least 3 times on any positive comment.
30fps is trash, sorry but facts. They never should have made the Series S weaker.
@@MichaelM28my graphics card is worth more than two of your ps5’s
@@actionjackson8689 So why did the Series X get 30fps too while they could have just made it run at 60fps on it? The game engine and the consoles' power, as well as the density of the game didn't play in favor...
@justaguy263 it's 30 fps cause they had to cater to the weaker system and they are trying to reach parity. The amount of time it would take to redo all the coding to make it 60 fps with minimal bugs would take a longtime seeing the scope of this game
thank you!
Thank you! Normally, I play on Playstation and PC, but lately, I have been considering putting an Xbox console in my basement TV to play Xbox-exclusive games. I would still use the PS5 as my main console, so I was wondering if I needed the Xbox series X or S; this video was very useful. In my case, the series S is probably the best option, as I'm not going to be playing countless games on it, just a few exclusives. Thanks again!
Exactly same main is ps5 and have an pc so which did you choose x or s ?
Looks pretty damn good
Basically if you have a 4k TV or monitor then you'll want thr X. If you have a 1080p screen, the X will still have some visual advantages but only small things like shadows and reflections being a tad sharper. The S is fine on a 1080p screen.

They are both powerful and the difference between them is insignificant
Seems like the series X is neutered. It can handle 1440p and 60fps
@@TheAgentAssassin Correct. I own both and while some games show the significant difference between the console's capabilities, Starfield absolutely does not. They don't have 60 fps enabled for the X for some reason and it truly feels the exact same for me between both Series S and X. The load times are only about 10-20% faster on the Series X for the same load screen. Definitely not worth the cost to upgrade to an X if Starfield is the reason you're upgrading.
not if you got a 4k tv
@@yesyouareright9800 Yes my friend, 4K TV is very important to get beautiful views on console power
@@TheAgentAssassinnot sure I agree with that, it doesn't maintain 30 at 1440p in some parts with the current graphical settings. They'd have to dial some things back get anywhere near a solid 60fps, from the drops I'd guess this runs between 35-45 on the X with the current settings and this is why they cappedbat 30fps. The game is horribly optimised though, so it's not the console, it's the game. What's going on behind the scenes, the X should be able to run at 1440p 60fps with little drama.
I mainly bought this game with the Series X instead of the Series S because I wanted to be able to play physical discs on the console. But yes, it would be cool if the game gets a 60 fps update in the future for the X model, or at least faster loading times.
I have played on both and while yes it does look much better and has a more consistent frame rate, series s works wonderfully well if you just want to play the game.
I don't understand why it takes so long to start playing, fast travel, and load between maps on a console with a standard SSD... what is holding you back?
The CPU
@@SoundBuckle Is that true for titles that can be played on PS5? There are still titles on PS5 that take more than ten seconds to load.
@@sa-Y-to unsure, don't have a PS5. It's just the sheer amount of stuff the game has to load in the open world.
@@SoundBuckle I thought that the loading time required to load a lot of data would be almost eliminated in this generation of consoles. I read in an article before the launch of both hardware that the PS5 can achieve 8~9 GB/s in peak mode, eliminating the loading screen from the game, and even for the Xbox, loading will be completed in 5~6 seconds. And even now, 3 years after the launch of these hardware, this ideal load time has not become the norm. I am deeply disappointed.
@SoundBuckle ps5, series s and x ALL use 3.5-3.8 ghz 8 core Zen 2 chips for the cpu so cpu capabilities are within the same ballpark
Damn I’ve been spoiled on PC. My longest loading screens are 4 seconds tops and it takes about 20 seconds to launch the game. I never realized how long it took for Xbox One X. I hear people say the PC version is unoptimized, but I feel like it’s honestly the complete opposite.

Lucky for us the game will get an update this month for a 60fps patch
@@christiansalazar8750 I don't have an xbox but that's so great.
I highly suggest to do a re-test on the latest patch, it's really bad now on Series S, this is from someone who has played since release, and I am now seeing really bad load times, saving, more crashes and huge FPS drops in non populated areas with little Geometry or Floating Point Instructions, I don't have the FormID bug as I had just done a NG+4 so it's not that. I also see this on a lot of Ryzen APU PC's one of which has just been released, the 8600G. I think it's mainly an AMD issue with FSR and the input lag has also got really bad since the last patch. They have a long, long way to go to get this game working properly even in Vanilla it wasn't ready for release, the amount of bugs I have seen with most on Reddit and Subreddits, plus some new ones I have found, some major game breaking ones and a lot of content was cut just before release for the DLC, remnants have been left behind, it's pretty shocking really they released this in September, it needed another 12 months in the oven. Still it sold out the 7800 XT and a ton of 1TB Series S consoles. Now it's rumoured to be coming to PS5 if the announcement next week is anything to go by.

If you want to see a clear representation of the graphical contrast, go to timestamp 2:40. Very clear representation! Look at the detail on his shoulder and on the person's jacket across from him. Series X hands down wins over the Series S in graphics. Hope this helps!
Not worth upgrading just because of that. There are differences but they’re not the big, not worth 200 euros more for the X

For me on the series x quick resume only works a few times until the game starts glitching and crashes. I feel for sniping especially helps with 4k pixels
I have a series S and it crashes every time I play. Same thing happened when I played FO4 getting prepped for starfield. Might be more of a Bethesda issue but the crashing is frustrating.

I have, the Series S 1tb, and the only game on it is starfield, the graphics bugs out constantly and it chrashes at least once every time i play more than a couple hours straight.

To be honest i don't have a current gen X box i usually buy both systems ergo Sony and Microsoft, because of the cost of living i did forego 1 system now back on my feet i'm considering buying an X box just for this game. Here where i am the Series S is only £249 where the Series X is nearly £500 so if i'm going to buy just for this game and it's not a bad version(which by all accounts it's not) then the Series S is a perfect companion to have next to my PS5.
I think it's just my TV 📺 that the problem is not the console 😅
Honestly, people need to compare with a zoom x4 to choose a console, today?? And I don't say that for Open Surprise who made the video (it's an honest comparison). We can clearly see how both versions are very similar, unless yu want to see stone litle less blurry; because, yeah, it is very important the stones details in a game. 😅 Just go with the budget you have, and enjoy the game. Very sad to see how it's all about performance today instead of the rest: the game. Ps: forgive my english, i did my best 😁 !
Series X got the shitty 30 fps port , the X can handle more FPS @1440P
You should go another video with the one X on game pass.
This game is a mixed bag from a graphics and performance standpoint. On Series S, it can look absolutely beautiful, especially indoors. New Atlantis is a mess though. This game is hard-core cpu bound on these consoles. Considering the CPU part of the APU is almost the same between Series S and X I'd be very surprised if they manage a 60 fps mode. You could run it at 720p on Series X and still struggle to get reliably over 45 fps. Maybe fsr 3 frame gen will make a 60 fps possible later on.
Honestly, Bethesda just need to stop eating their own jizz and get rid of the creation Engine already, it's the worst running, most unoptimised crap in existence, held together by Todd's ego, metaphorical tape, and dreams, yet the deluded picks keep on going.

@@Orain88 I play it on the Series X, I am not impressed, character models are shit, graphics is terrible in most locations with absurb popping of characters and foliage, FPS doesn't feel like a smooth 30 to me anywhere, it's choppy as all hell, I'm using an LG 27" G-Sync 1440p 140hz monitor, so that can't be the issue in terms of choppyness. I'm a big Bethesda fan, and for a game that Bethesda have been wanting to make for many years, they did a pretty shit job of it, they could have easily made this game 60 FPS on the Series X, the graphics are far from impressive, people have already 100% completed the game so it's not that deep of a game, the damn game just released. Skyrim is more impressive to me in terms of character models, content, environments, and that game released 12 years ago. I started to notice that the models were horrific the moment I arrived in New Atlantis, after seeing the teenager talking as you go down the ramp, I then started looking at all of the other models walking around, they literally look like clay, no life to them at all. Saying that, the graphics haven't even developed very much in those 12 years between Skyrim, and Starfield, at all. I garuantee that a few community modders could make Starfield look drastically better, and have the game running at 60 FPS on the Series X, it's crazy how community modders can do this within months, yet billion $ companies fail to do so after years of development, blows my fuckin' mind. Starfield, even though I wanted it to be great, didn't disappoint me knowing that it was going to be the opposite. I'm genuinely worried for Elder Scrolls VI, and having such a graphically shit game be so hard-core cpu bound on a console with 16GB of RAM, and a 7 nm AMD Zen 2 8-Core 3.8 GHz CPU is absolutely pathetic. They can't say "It's because we have 1,000 planets" and if they do, it's a lie. Elite Dangerous has billions of planets that you can land on, with MUCH better graphics, that game manages 60 FPS just fine, and it's even multiplayer, oh and you can manually land on those planets too, Elite Dangerous released in 2014, Todd Howard, and Bethesda have no excuses.

How much is a lot?
Ohh man people dont understand how game development is working nowadays.. There are barely any games nowadays that get released in a almost perfect state especially when there's a big publisher in the background. They usually putting pressure on the development studio to rush the release of the game - in the past few years there have been several examples, when publishers force released games in a really bad state - with the most prominent one being cyberpunk, or WC3 reforged, or FO76 - theres alot o games that were shipped in a horrible state. Starfield however, for a bethesda game (as sad as it sounds) actually released in a kinda playable state (especially after the FO76 - Flop). now after the release, the developers will focus on optimizing the game performance and fixing bugs (atleast lets hope so). Its really likely that, after several optimizations, SF will run 60fps atleast on the XBX SX and Im pretty sure they could even make it work on the Series S - however they probably wont put the work in to it. Also the performance will probably be significantly enhanced on desktop PCs. There's alot of stuff that they can adjust under the hood.
Im disappointed on xbox x how do you run 60 fps? The graphics is amazing but im not running at 60 fps, it doesnt look smooth. I have a 65 inch LG oled c1 tv with xbox x. Now im really disappointed.
Reason i searched this was because i heard the series s was more portable
I play mostly old gen titles so the series S works for me. It’s the perfect emulator machine 😃
On the Series S just give us the option of pure 1080p or dynamic resolution to potentially help the framerate
When the framerate drops are CPU related, dropping res down to 1080p or even 720p won't help!

Thanks, I want to buy Xbox so I can play starfield and help me decide if Xbox s.S will be enough :)
If you don't have a 4K screen then why getting the series x? it's basically the same thing except for resolution, the frame rate is the same.
Current-gen game capped to 30 fps? Looks like I'll skip this one then, unless they add a 60fps performance mode
this new gamers cry about FPS dude xD we were playing since Nintendo and super nintendo, after playing almost all consoles the last 30 years theres no way we are gonna cry about FPS in a game that clearly can be play perfectly lol , ihave 20+ hrs in starfield and its just goes smooth hahah
@@paltaprimoAfter 30 years the technology has changed and some people might not see the difference and others will. To release any game that won't give a decent frame rate/refresh rate when the hardware is capable is a beta
@@paltaprimo Used to have no issues with 30fps back in the day, now that I'm used to 60fps+, 30 just feels awful.
@paltaprimo nah am an old gamer , I moved to 144 fps on pc and now I can't look at 30 it makes me feel sick 😢. Difference is night and day .
how manny ignorant people do we have in the gaming community? Got damn 60fps isnt next gen! Its just a fuhcan framerate thats always been around the damn sega dreamcast stuck to it the ps2 and so on even ps4 and xbox ond have 60fps games it isnt Next gen.Yall acting bougie just because you saw cross gen games and lower powered games run 60 this shit crazy they should of never marketed framerate to simple console gamers because yall dont know shit about games
i really like this game, i just hate the gameplay on series s
gameplay is the same🤦♀
Yeah, the gameplay on Series S is awful. So much better on Series X. The Y,A,X,B buttons are so much better, on Series X. You press A and it is A. You press X and it is X. Potato S
Honestly can't wait to mod it.😈👍
I really thought the only difference is that Series S is digital. I didn't expect there would be hardware lacking in Series S.
Increase 1 or 2 levels of contrast in your tv and you’ll have same result 😅
Starup is a trocadilho?
The lack of 60 FPS is enough for me to sell my Xbox Series X. I bought the console thinking that it would be an alright holdover until I bought upgrades for my PC, but it's just so lacking.
30 fps in 2023 on a brand new game is quite literally embarrassing. Like, legitimately. Insane. So yeah i agree
Its just the Game, also runs bad on my PC 13700K 3090TI. Like really bad i have to use 1080p upscaling to 1440p. And it doesnt look like it should use this much hardware.
I did not even download this game . I'll skip until i have at least 120 fps on 4080 in 2k native
The game is no normal game. Its the largest game ever made. The fact it runs at a stable 30 on any console, is an achievement. Even high end PC's which cost more than twice as much struggle.
Wait for fsr 3 , they will do something
You can play on one too it streams the game to you
The one on left looks better tbh the one on right looks like the contrast is a little lowered lol and it’s a few hundred dollars difference smh people are such suckers
Series S just as good as Series X. Both release at the same time. So, both will have many more future games coming out together. For those of you that have a Series S theres no reason to Get a Series X. Especially now the limitied edit S series Carbon is out now with the same amount of memory of series X
Xbox players should be happy to know that this game was going to be a ps5 exclusive, no wonder it crashes and stutters so much on xboxes
