  • I gotta say, Josh really stepped his game up this video. Not just getting random fun things to play with, but his energy and humour. It’s like he’s relaxed himself somehow and let out that delightful whimsy that was always there. You two are a fantastic duo.

  • i actually liked the milk dispenser. as a home health aid, i care for many older people who have a hard time lifting even the half gallons of milk and find the cardboard pints awkward, and having a dispenser like that would actually be nice for them to be able to just put in and and fill their glass up. The only thing i would have a concern about is how easily or difficult it would be to get it completely clean. i want want of those jar openers! i have arthritis so bad in my hands and i can't open jars very well at all and my jar opener ( my husband) isn't always available.

    @marytramp5678@marytramp5678 Жыл бұрын
    • A lot of "silly" gadgets are actually home health aids! Unfortunately, that is a market that is much smaller than the general public, so many producers try to sell to a wider audience as well, and we end up with the goofy infomercials!

  • As per usual with ‘weird gadgets’, 90% of these are actually designed for disabled/older people, usually with mobility issues. They have to market to the public as ‘lazy’ gadgets so they can be mass-manufactured and sold at a much more affordable price than would be possible if sold only as a mobility aid etc. (I have very weak wrists, so that milk tap would be perfect for me since I can’t pour from heavier bottles easily)

  • This is the only time I've seen anyone test cooking gadgets and not be ableist about it. Of course it's Josh and Ollie being amazing. Thanks for restoring my faith in humanity. Usually I'm in tears when I see these huge names test out gadgets from tiktok or instagram because people won't stop going on and on about how people like me are lazy for relying on them when the truth is, I can barely grip a doorknob. Thank you for being you. You made me smile anyway but you also made me feel like a person. I can count those days on one hand. When my fingers want to uncurl and cooperate, that is.

    @jamie1602@jamie16022 жыл бұрын
    • Everyone knows that when they say people are lazy for using so many gadgets, they are talking about people with no physical disabilities. People that can do things without these gadgets but are too lazy and choose the easiest option even if it's silly sometimes. No one calls disabled people lazy

      @maramra393@maramra3932 жыл бұрын
    • You should see the comments section when Amazon posts about those plugs you can control with Alexa. It's basically half saying it's for lazy people and half conspiracy theorists as if Amazon cares when you turn your lamp on. Usually it's not until people themselves struggle that they understand how beneficial these types of products can be. I'm genuinely going to look for that jar opener for my mom who has arthritis. I'm already on the search for an automatic can opener that actually works too.

      @XSemperIdem5@XSemperIdem52 жыл бұрын
    • @@maramra393 a lot of the times it's that those people don't even consider the usefulness of something for someone who struggles with a disability. It's the ableist attitude.

      @XSemperIdem5@XSemperIdem52 жыл бұрын
    • @@XSemperIdem5 these products are not targeted to disabled people. Even the ads show fully abled people using them. That's why when people talk about those Amazon products they are not thinking about disabled people but people like them that are infact lazy. When you look at a product you see if it's going to be beneficial to you since you're the one buying it. If someone says a product is trash it's because it's not useful for them . It's not about being ableist or not. If a product is targeted to disabled people you already know it's purpose. If something is targeted to the general audience and makes no sense for us, then they can criticize it. And yeah those Amazon products are scketchy since some people have been hacked before. You dont need an AI controlling every function of your house if you can just do those things yourself. There's an obesity pandemic, we don't need to make people more lazy and unhealthy than before.

      @maramra393@maramra3932 жыл бұрын

  • Watching Josh and Ollie try these gadgets, made me laugh, I have to admit that the automated jar opener is in fact a very useful tool especially for elderly people who lose strength in their hands or for anyone with arthritis and can no longer grip. I have one myself (as I am a 69-year old widow and live alone); I use it frequently for those stubborn jar lids and it works like a dream.

  • I think I busted a rib laughing just now, this is going in my top ten JOLLY videos 😂😂😂😂😂 Ollie doesn't have a good track record with keeping dairy products off of his face--first the cream in the spice remedies video, now this LOL The reaction to the botched shell scrambler killed me, those are the laughs of two men who have given up on the world and don't give a crap about it! (A note on why both methods of shell scrambling didn't work: the yolk is anchored inside the egg by strands called chalazae that are attached to the ends of the shell (the white stringy stuff that appears in cracked eggs sometimes) which is specifically designed to be some sort of organic bungee cord to the yolk to keep it in one place for a developing chick to feed on. As long as the white's still in there the chalazae won't break, but gravity's too much for it, so it breaks when the egg gets cracked.)
