Mermaid Game Update 6 (UE 5.3) Player Character Creator demo
Hi all, sorry its been a while since the last video, but progress has been pretty good. Hope you like the new Character options shown in this update.
Tail of the Sea is the current working game title, this may change. This video is still early footage and showing unedited gameplay of my test map.
The game will be online multiplayer co-op style, you can play single player. Everything fully works from control pad if that is how you prefer to play also.
This is a full rebuild since the last update as i hit some limitations and needed a clean start but everything is now improved, more videos to come :)

Customization here is pretty good, but if they're looking for feedback, I'd advise they do something about the severe lack in mermaid tail customization. Its painfully unrealistic compared to everything else and needs more scale and fin options.

Yep. Like length, shape, musculature, etc.
+ They could do something with the transition from tail to stomach it's kinda "flat"? Like The scales stop and skin start and i feel like it's just not realistic. They could do some different transition between the two to choose from.
Also more skin options like scales so we can make terrifying sirens.
Also at the customization - the movements. me personally, when I create a character in a game, I hate it when they move so much that I can't really see how they look like.
I’ve been following the progress of this game for quite a while and I will say I’m throughly pleased and impressed with how far it’s come
Looking like having lots of potential! Though I still hope to see different underwater species, like mer-eels, mer-sharks, mer-octopuses and such. Will make things even better! You’re doing great job, that’s very great progress!

Very nice! I love the hair animation Tbf "Face" and "Body" text probably should be changed to "Face Tattoo"/"Body Tattoo" to avoid confusion
Although adding face and body sliders would be nice to have aswell. Not sure how difficult that is to make, but would be neat!
I agree with the hair customization, except for the fact that I don't see any curly haired options. Would be nice to have.
Ah if only the Perfect World paid this much attention towards mermaid form customisation. It looks amazing!
Wow the Game has changed a lot. I LOVE the swimming animation, especially the Shark chase. It remind me of The Little Mermaid where Ariel gets chased. And the Tail/Fins customization is very creative. I can't wait to play the Game keep up the good word ❤
Looks great! Would wish though that there were ability to change the shape of the face as opposed to just different tattoos though. Also, the animation of the arms underwater strikes me as being a little bit awkward. Looks like they are flailing around needlessly instead of how you would typically imagine a mermaid swimming. Regardless, looking forward to seeing more updates
Please can you make more long hair options? This is looking great! Also, I love the update on the characters! They look much more realistic and I'm so glad their busts aren't extremely huge anymore 😂 I'm excited to play this!
YES! At least mid back or longer! (As someone with really long hair.... would love an "extra long" option lol)
Maybe dumb, but ,you could also add a swan dive button? Like that the character can swan dive into the water, I think that would also add the charm to the game, but great work so far :)
swan dive is in but i didn't demo yet, its on an auto, so you need to be over water and at a certain height for it to trigger, if you jump off a platform or cliff and the trace hits water below then you get the swan dive, it looked bad allowing it close to the shore in shallow water which is why no dive from jump at the shore but it is on my list to look at a series of surface dives and other tricks you can do while swimming :)

Looks REALLY good. Love the fluid transitions between water and land. Very well done. Can't wait to see more and eventually play this game.
Omygash this looks amazing ❤❤❤ I was just talking about this with my girlfriend on how mermaids are a widely known and most sought after mythical creature and yet we are yet to receive an immersive game playing as mermaids. This is so awesome. Hoping to see it more in the future and maybe, buy and play it~

honestly the tails need blending more, like make the scales gradually fade out onto the skin like a seamless look, rather than bam, human, bam fish" becuase it brings a cleaner finish/ polish to the look really, but otherwise not too bad, keep up the good work! also instead of a line on the map to sybolise map end or something, maybe make them see a kracken or some giant sea monster, and if they keep going, let it kill them or swipe at them, and then kill them if they get further.

Ah I want to play it ❤ Do you have any release Date? Are there Mermaid NPCs, too? What's the Genre of the Game? Do you have to fight in it or is it more on the exploring side? Would there be changes in the Future for detailing the Face like Sliders for Nose, Eyes, Face Sculpt and more Body modifications? Character Design is my absolutely favorite Part of the Game. I really need Hours to create my Character 🤣 and I love to have many Options. ❤I see so much potential here. Are there NPC for building Couples? I love it, it's to cool. Sorry for all the Questions but I'm really excited.

You're doing great so far! I can't imagine how difficult it is to make a game I was wondering if there was going to be any more additions to the customization of the character, like height and length of the tail and fins for example. Super curious! Is there going to be a main story? I'd love to see what other ideas you have for this game! Keep doing what you're doing :)
that side fin length maybe the only additional customization to be added at some point i think. I'm really happy with the customization options now and can easily extend more body art and tail types etc, maybe a bit of polish on the options menu style i think will cover it off for now then extend more around release time. Oh yes full main story, single player and multiplayer co-op is planned. Main quests with side quests, random events. ill have to do a video on the story/questing features too. in multiplayer quests are shared with the group too so any player in the team can contribute and as anyone progresses the quest it updates for all players in the group. there will be personal player spaces where you can have as your own build area to customize upgrade and place treasures (you will be able to invite other players to see your area also)... think of that scene early in the movie where her treasures are stored in the undersea cave, kind of like that.. lots of plans :)

Just discovered you but this look completely amazing! I`ve binge watched the videos and so far this game looks to be really fun and exciting. Loving the diversity of character creation options and the world looks good so far all be it a little sparce. But thats expected in the early stages. Looking foreward to seeing where this game goes. Tail of the Sea sounds pretty good even if thats not the release name the play on words is a nice touch. Really excited to see the lore and where the story goes. Don't stop!

The animation and transition from water to beach is absolutely perfect. It's smooth and looks very natural
the customization has improved so much yay 👏 and the merman you designed looked attractive. just wondering if there will be more options on personal body details like a few different face options, hair length slider, chest size slider? the game is very pretty and it appeals to a large female audience since mermaids are a childhood fantasy not commonly explored in adult media. sitting/sleeping positions on the ocean floor would be nice, sea food like kelp and fish would be nice to fulfill a hunger requirement if incorporated. different types of ocean would be cool too, like deep ocean and non-tropical ocean. also swimming could be more wonderful and cool with underwater flips and twists. basically this concept is really good and strangely not incorporated in many games before. potential to draw in many

This is absolutely exciting! I have always loved mermaids as a kid growing up. The progression looks great so far and can't wait for when it comes out. In fact I am dropping everything when it releases and plan on doing a livestream of it. Keep up the great work and thanks for giving us updates💖!

I have watched some of your other videos and it looks like it is all coming together nicely :D. I love the Pegasus, the other sea creature that kind of looks like a Plesiosaurus and the gigantic hydra type creature to your left :3.

I always said to my friend how much I wish for a Mermaid Game! I follow this Project since I found it and I am amazed how it looks so far! The customization is amazing and I love that you can play as Mermaid or Merman! Even if you wont be able to build an underwater palace, I will surely get this game ♥

Artsy suggestion: I think the tails would look nicer if they gradually blended into the body instead of the harsh line. Overall, seems like an interesting game! I'll keep an eye on this one!
Just a few weeks ago I learned we got a Chinese mermaid game (it's beautiful and amazing!) and now we got this. I was just thinking wanting to see if not play a mermaid game. Hopefully when this comes out my laptop can handle it though X'D. Thank you so much for making this game!

The game looks so fantastic and interesting! The swimming animation is so fluid and consistent with how I've seen other mermaids/mermen swim in other media. Will our MC have some sort of power related to water too? Like a web of abilities that they can acquire? Or they just become mermaids/mermen? Maybe my H2O side just screams for this sort of content lol

You should release and sell the game as an "early beta access" and have users send you some bug reports while you finish it, I'm looking forward to this game! Like the game "path of titans" they are doing the same thing I told you about selling the game in early access
I love it! I see an online mode, I like it even more. Chilling with mer friends, exploring, … with even more customization options would be great. Aquatic biomes, more marine animals…
The idea of mermaids game it’s cool. But like a real cool game with cool story and scary enemies. Kinda like a stellar blade or souls game.

Stumbled upon this and I'm very curious about it! I love customization in games like this. However, I wanted to point something out in case no one else noticed or made a comment about it. In the first hair style you did at 0:34 you can see there is some transparency from the hair to the base of the head. I can fully see the scalp through the hair. Im not sure if this is intentional or if this could be because of the light coloured hair. I thought I would point it out so you are aware :)

Ive always wanted to play a mermaid game.
Should also implemente gills either on the traps of the shoulders or the hips for when in water. Also need to add more masculine hairstyles, some side shaves, some dreadlocks, some layered fringe cuts, some long straight hair that isn't tied, oh we also need eye shape customization and brow customization, we don't all want to look like Thor or Ken dolls, some of us want to look like Jason Mamoa or Keanu Reeves in the ocean.
A survival mermaid game where u have to play routinewise underwater and on soil, maybe u become a mermaid at night while at day you fight you way through the jungle of the island
