Ok guys, it's here. I know, I know, long time coming, right? But I really hope it was worth the wait for you... I know it was for me! This is a special video for many reasons. I had some help from my good friends Robert Boag (video) and Josh Woods (audio mix), and this wouldn't look or sound a fraction as good without them.
The video is also special because it's one of my favorite tracks by one of my favorite artists, AND it was my first "live" piano video where I mic'd it up and layered a bunch of different parts. AKA, everything you hear was recorded and filmed live, then layered one on top of each other to give you the full mix (essentially there are up to 5 "pianos" playing at once).
I really hope you guys dig this video. It's been a lot of hard work on everyone's part, and we're so incredibly thrilled to share it with you.

I'm honestly so frustrated at myself for not being able to discover him, his talent, and his channel, for 7 years until today. The video along with the magic he created just from the piano itself left me speechless. Very original indeed and I never thought the piano could be this any more beautiful. Thank you so much for this video and this really inspired me to make something that gives off a new shed of light and beauty the same way Evan Duffy does, thinking outside the 'box'.

You see, it's people like you who really push the boundaries of music. By first of all taking musical styles that we wouldn't think would sound THIS GOOD on piano and making a masterpiece, and then using the instrument itself to crank out very very beautiful, mysterious, and interesting sounds. I hope you will keep on this trajectory, because this is simply amazing.
Totally agree with you. Just so you know though, Zedd performs a piano version of all his songs before releasing them :) he's a fantastic pianist and that's why his songs work so well with them.

After 2 years of this song being on KZhead I still come back to it to, along with all of his other piano covers and originals. So beautiful, you can feel the passion.
Who knew that when crossover categories of music began that we'd be listening to EDM as classical arrangements. Less than 15 years ago EDM wasn't even understood. Now this... SMH..incredible. I'd like to see less cinematic angles and more of how you produced each individual sound and worked it in to the mix, but that aside this is a very nice cover so great job :D
I think it's an artist's prerogative to keep some of the magic behind the screen. It allows the audience to listen without being encumbered by the narrative of explanation. #imho
Benvolio Foster I didn't suggest a narrative per say, just more revealing shots showing how the entire thing was put together. While it is of course entirely up to the artist, it's something I myself would have preferred.

Weird. That intro was actually one of the more compelling parts of this entire cover. It's when the chorus came in that it started to actually sound uninteresting to me, but not due to his playing as much as the limitation of the piano versus the original recording of this track.
