AMERICAN IDOL, the iconic series that revolutionized the television landscape by pioneering the music competition genre, returned to the airwaves in February 2021 for its forth season at its new home on ABC. The nationwide search for the next superstar kicked off in August 2019, as the virtual Idol Bus traveled from Portland, Oregon, to Orlando, Florida, in its pursuit for talent, covering many cities across the country. Auditioning was made easier than ever as hopefuls also had the opportunity to submit audition videos online, as well as via select social media platforms using an official tag, #TheNextIdol, cultivating over 300,000 posts. Also, for the first time in “American Idol” history, hopefuls had the opportunity to audition through a livestream platform. Helping to determine who America will ultimately vote for to become the next singing sensation, are music industry forces and superstar judges, Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Emmy® Award-winning host and producer Ryan Seacrest will return as host of the beloved series.

  • In a year or so, nobody will remember who won this years Idol. But they will remember you! This was the most talented Idol in it's history, but the talent was secondary to the sob stories. When it came to the voice and stage presents, you Casey are the best by far. I'm not crazy about Rock and I know you like it, but you could be one of the best Blues Singers ever! I would say good luck, but you are not going to need it. No sob story for you! You are pure talent, but had no sob story, and that cost you I believe. You will have the biggest career of all four of the finalist. I HAVE NO DOUBT! Just Say'n!

    • Maybe she will find a way to incorporate blues/rock on her album. I know she loves rock, but her voice just takes me to a different place when she sings jazz. Hopefully she will be a Janis Joplin type of artist.

    • Your wrong about Chayce. He's here to stay. That being said, Casey was my favorite from the start. She should have been in the finals with Chayce. At the end they were both winners. The refreshing thing about Casey is that she had no sob story. Chayce took ownership of his problems, and used them in his songs. He didn't rely on them for votes. So I think they are even on that. Either one could have won, and I would be happy, although I do love Casey. Simply awesome. IMO

  • Casey reminds me of Linda Ronstadt, who could sing any genre, sing it beautifully and with an almost unlimited vocal range.

    • Yes great emotional delivery on My Funny Valentine.. the only production I heard since of that by a young female that is so great is from Angelina Jordan which was obviously done in studio and was done about a year and two months ago... look it up she was also 16 years old when she recorded it for her fans

    • Probably because she can't be moulded into what they want she wants to be herself. That means they let you go and usually any negative comments effects how others see her. It amazing how the judges see you influences those watching. 😟

  • She nailed Soundgarden, Atlantis Morisette and then putting her own twist on House of the Rising Sun plus on Over the Rainbow yet I think on the Coldplay and Incubus songs she would have made it to the same or better one the charts than the original songs did. Can't wait to hear an original from her. Pure talent.

    • I don't know about you but I thought the arrangement for "House of The Rising Sun" stunk. Ms. Bishop's singing was great but the music accompanying her was awful; it should have showcased her voice better.
