  • The Owner MUST hire an attorney, there's no way she can fight this herself. County is trying to push her to sell to redevelop property, with another owner.

  • My local city raised taxes 2% last year, which they said would only be about $55 a month. I’m looking at homes assessed for $38,000 on the tax rules and they’re charging close to $4000 a year for city, county, and school taxes combined, that’s more than 10%. And then there’s a sewer tax on top of that which is over $300 that they say is not tax deductible because it’s not really a tax.

  • The laws have to change NOW. ALL REAL PROPERTY, IS REAL PROPERTY. Each GOODWILL store across the country is bigger than her store. At least 150 stores, some in nice areas, and they pay ZERO property tax, yet the bring in over a billion each year in revenue. Exploiting the 503c tax laws about being a non profit mens they pay no property tax. You say well they are just tenants, they lease the building and the owner pays tax. NOPE. If we are an equal justice country, then there should be no difference in what is real property. I dont care if you're a church. A stool, a GOVERNMENT BUILDING uf this woman has to pay property tax, so do you.
