That little bar at the top of the keyboard during the sound test is a really nice addition. Just another reason why you’re my favorite tech reviewer Frank 👍

Just got this keyboard for Christmas and sheesh it’s amazing and so smooth 😚🤌🏽
6:45 I actually love that they did that workaround to avoid needing to have the software running in the background
frank, here’s some choccy milk because you’re epic
gimme some!
Trapped_ Sway, here’s some choccy milk for you because you’re also epic
thanks now my name is frank
I just want one cup because I ate a burger just now
I want choccy milk to give me choccy milk please
Frank just wanted to say thanks for adding that load bar for the key tests. Very thoughtful of you to add that for those who aren't as interested in the sound test. (I still love the tests) Thanks again for killing it with another amazing vid m8!
Slowly building my streaming setup and every time I research on an item. Your reviews are the ones that tend to pop up on my research and I learned to trust your informative reviews and input. I hit like and subscribed! :D
Loved the typing test progress bar
It looks sooo awesome 😮 Also I love the typing sound 👂
You make me smile everytime I see you on a morning or after school. Nice videos since 2 Years!
dude your production quality is superb. Great audio, great cinematography.
I have the 2018 board. I love the keyboard. HyperX released these keycaps for US layout but not for UK :( been trying to get them for over 6 months :( feels bad man. Might have to buy the keyboard just for it
5:45 No, full-size has been the standard for so long because if someone is spending over 100 dollars on a gaming keyboard, they’re not only going to game, it is going to be used for work, and most people would prefer not to spend even more money to get another keyboard for work/fully mechanical numpad to match their tkl. So they’re very useful and ‘transitioning to tkl’ (meaning mainly tkl) wont be the right choice at all.
Would love a tkl version of this. Keep up the awesome content man
Yo nice Macro shots! thanks for taking your time! dope vid
i love how you cracked your fingers before the sound test "SO SATISFYING"
Just want to point out that the keycap is ABS that attracts your fingerprint very easily. The board itself might not attract fignerprints as bad, but black generally makes those tiny flake dust very visible if it sits on your desk for a long period of time.
it depends on your fingers if your have greasy fingers (which i don't have) then it will attract oil on keycaps
thanks for reviewing this!
its my first mechanical keyboard and i love it my dad got it for me when it was on sale at best buy. it's pretty much perfect for me with the way i got everything setup on my desk. i had a little paint peel off at the bottom but that's probably from using it so much, some testors paint helped cover it up. the rgb shining through the pudding keyboard keycaps is pretty and bright, and i like the way it sounds and feels when typing. i've been using openrgb for rgb software since i got a hyperx keyboard, razer mouse, and gigabyte motherboard, it lets me control all 3 of them, doesn't support as many effects but just want good matching colors for my wallpaper scheme. if you wear glasses the red accents underneath can give off a kinda cool "3d glasses" glare effect if you have your keys set to a nice blue or purple color
I love these style keyboards because of the ease to cleaning the faceplate. I hate my key getting stuck because one of my animals deciding to rub up against it or sleep on it or next to it lol.
Purchased it earlier today. Absolutely loving the switches. I'm used to Cherry MX Brown, but these Red switches are A-MA-ZING! Best I've ever had. The keyboard is also so bright, incredible! The only downside is the price (€159), no wrist thing (not like I mind) and that it's full size. Would've loved a TKL version. Ah yes, and the crappy software. Overall a solid 9/10.
I have alloy origins core TKL and HyperX do really make good products, but the software is questionable.
Can you use this keyboard without any problems without installing their software?
@@Kensai127 Software is not required. Honestly, I've done the RGB settings once in the software and never touched the program after again. It also doesn't start with boot. So I assume the keyboard has some internal memory regarding color/rgb profiles.
@@Rick020 Thank you for this info. I really do not want to use the MS store nor have to download and install another brand specific UI. I am learning about switches now. You used brown which I understand is kind of loud. I have blue switches which is a typewriter sound. This sound drives my wife crazy. Are the red switches much quieter?
Brooo! I love u! Please continue the content! Luv u!
Love the videos!!! Keep it up man!
I’ve had this board for a good while now and I absolutely love it. The switches are the best I’ve used, the RGB is amazing and the build quality is really great. I plan on keeping this for a long time!
ikinda need some help just bought the keyboard and the software is bugging a bit for me i save to a peset and to keyboard try and change color but it doesent work u had this problem or just me? hope u answer thx
could be the version, update if it helps@@Not_LittleCritter
These switches sound kinda like my silvers I think ! ( I use a corsair k65 rapidfire keyboard )
Really love your videos. Keep it up!!
Holy shit Frank now you can never go back to not cracking your fingers before the sound test that was so satisfying
bruh what is that monitor behind him!? i mean, its massive
Only HyperX Red switch is available, they should also put HyperX Aqua switch as option. They should also put dedicated Macro keys.
I just ordered this keyboard along with a Logitech G502 HERO. Mainly your reviews sold me about getting them. Phenomenal channel dude. I've learned a lot about gaming equipment thanks to you.
what an coincidence, i also have G502 Hero and my dad has bought Hyperx Alloy Elite 2 for me coming later, but using Logitech G502 right now
This like checked all my wants for a keyboard. Thanks Frankp.
Me after using Leopold: UGH THAT RGB DISGUST ME Just kidding! Your video is awesome, and stay remember "preferences is all the way"
yeah i realised that rgb was not that big of a deal and so i bought a varmilo miya pro - best purchase ever
just wait till you get on r/mechanicalkeyboards
I hope that all my favorite mouse, keyboard, monitor and headset from one brand it will be nice looking setup, unfortunately I can't find my all my favorite things in one company..
Hyperx makes great keyboards and headsets, but their ram and mice are meh right now. I do have a hunch that they’re gonna do what’s called a pro gamer move with a great mouse in the near future though.
@@sish9912 their ram is prrtty good honestly, if you look at timings the only one better i could find was crucial ballistix 3600mhz cl16, to hyperx 3600mhz cl17, and yeah their mice arent that great, but there are some good ones
1st - damn nice looking keyboard 2nd - the b-roll for this video is great, not to mention the overall production quality
As somebody with the OG Alloy Elite the only changes I noticed where the keycaps and the +2 levels of lighting.
4:33 I like the bar you added: it's a nice touch!
Getting K70 vibes from this board
Siempre haces los mejores reviews !
Hi Frank. Your videos have been great during this Covid Lockdown. Was wondering if you could do a review of the Drevo Tyrfing V2 TKL. It's an awesome TKL board for only £50/$50.
I just want the standard full size layout to have the numpad moved over to the left side. Then you have the hand spacing of a TKL with benefits of a numpad.
You can build a custom board with that kind of layout.
The ROG claymore has a detachable numpad
Seems really similar, literally comparing it to the first version as I watch, does sound a bit better tho.
looking at these keyboards is just so aestheticly pleasing
Yeah, this keycaps make an incredible difference if we want to *boost RGB light* . I used the white keycaps on my ducky 👌
A TKL version of this one would be nice.
Hyperx Alloy Origins Cores is basicly a tkl version off this, but i dont have the multi mededia keys!
I have alloy origins core currently but man i want that volume.control in tkl the down side of this is wire is not removable
Okay, i mean you Can always get an amp n’ DAC or in Franks latest under $50 video he shows off a mini macropad with a volume knob that you can stick on to the keyboard
Mark Hanzel Malijan you recommend that keyboard or should I get a 60%?
@@steventran4625 60% are good but only if gonna do gaming with it , if normal surfing and editing you may need Tkl
Wassup Guys !!! Alloy Elite 2 impressed ! 💓
Thanks for the review! Im kinda late on the ball here but on the market for a new keyboard and after using membrane boards for basically my entire life, I'm being careful on what to switch to when it comes to Mechanical switches. I've seen this one aswell as HyperX Origins and Origins Core, but this one seems to be the way to go. 😁Although in terms of software, I would definitely recommend using the Light Studio inside the HP Omen Gaming Hub instead. That's why I'm looking at the keyboards I mentioned earlier as they are compatible with that software along with my HP X1000 Speakers. I like continuity. 😁
I really want this keyboard it looks so insane Frank your so lucky you get everything for free and have a amazing setup I hope you have a great day
last time i was this early- well ive never been this early
the problem with HyperX right now is the software, Ngenuity is buggy as hell and it seems like no matter how much ppl complain they aren't doing anything about it.
True
What is ngenuity
@@joaquinmontes782 I got fed-up and bought a Corsair Nightsword to complete my set up. I loved the Pulsefire Surge but having to create a virtual desktop to HIDE Ngenuity every day was annoying the crap out of me... I wrote to them and you what they said? Oh you cant minizine the software because it was developed in AWP, and I was like; IF YOU KNOW PPL HATE AWP APPS why would develop one that is intended for hardcore gamers using that platform? what is wrong with Win32? Cleary your Engineers did not do their research before starting the project... And as you might guess they have not replay to me after that one lol.
@@RohanSingh-ss8rr is their all-in-one software for all their peripherals. Is crappy, choppy performance, lots of bugs and cannot minimized by any means...

I have the 2018 and it's an amazing keyboard, even bought the white pudding keycaps for it.
I decided to go for the Allow instead of this one because of the size. The top bar looks great but I feel like it’ll make my desk a bit more bulky than it should be. Plus, the top buttons are also integrated in the key with the Alloy. Regardless, both look great. The RGB and the typing sound with Hyperx red linear key sound absolutely amazing.
Still going strong? Also how good is the software?
@@imastexi2515 keyboard still going strong but I also bought the Hyperx Pudding Keycaps because the keys do feel a bit cheap tbh. With the new keycaps (that make the keyboard feel and look better), it’s a great buy. The typing sound is amazing. The biggest thing I regret is not buying the version without the num pad. The upper number keys feel good enough to just use those (unless you have to you num pad) otherwise, my typing posture is a bit odd having my right hand typing closer to my left side of the body instead of shoulder with apart. Software: I haven’t installed it scared that is might mess up my keyboard or something. The reviews are beyond terrible. But the 3 presets it has already are good enough for me until (if there is one) a fix is placed.
I’m using the first gen Alloy Elite RGB with pudding keycaps, looks the same as the second gen lol, except the logo on the space bar and the switch
And it comes with a wrist rest which is better than alloy elite 2
“Who uses a num pad for gaming???” Me with my buy binds on numpad in csgo: 👁👄👁 💧 💧
