Do stabilization systems in cars really work and are they really necessary? Let's test and find out

In this video, I told EVERYTHING about stabilization systems in cars. I told what stabilization systems are and what they do. He also showed how stabilization systems work, and showed all this in practice in the simulator. I also told the story of the creation of stabilization systems in cars. Practical tests for the operation of ESP: not sharp maneuverability at high speed, sharp maneuvers at lower speeds, as well as a test of acceleration up to one hundred kilometers per hour. All these tests showed a very sharp difference between cars with stabilization systems and without stabilization systems. The car without ESP immediately went into a skid and lost control, while the car with ESP continued to move calmly. I also tested the ABS system. A car with ABS braked much faster and more stably than a car without this system. All this shows and proves that stabilization systems in modern cars are very, very important and play a big role in the safety of drivers!

  • 6:04 they abreviate (shorten) it down to ABS because the two words are separated by a dash so it perceived as a single word when said (but its separated by the dash to show that its actually two words combined). And i think thats why its only ABS. 7:19 here its has two reasons for it flashing, one is to show antilock braking is working (like you said) ,but its also to get the attention of others around with the red flashing lights on the back of a vehicle to show that youre braking very heavily. 7:47 here , also the ABS system immediately turns on the hazards on its own once you stop to warn others, the hazards on the other car doesnt come on since it doesn't have the system installed. Pretty cool.👌 Great video👍

    • Yes, stabilization systems have a long history. I think that for so long Mercedes has been doing tests to check the safety of these systems and to improve them before releasing them into the series. By the way. A long time ago, I was preparing material for a large video comparing Mercedes and BMW. That's an unrealistically large amount of material. Starting with the stories of both companies and up to their present. What do you think , need I to make such a video?

  • In beam ng, ive never used any form of traction control, I always disable stability control and power steerting. I generally use ABS though. I took the race version of the ibishu dina thing, gave it wider rears and fronts, adjusted the suspensions and gave it 1600 horsepower, left it RWD, and I can control it just fine on my wheel and pedal setup. I dont need TC or stability control cause Ive trained myself to not need it, and it gives me the maximum amount of control, if I need to throw a 180 quicky, I just clutch kick in 1st or 2nd with the wheel cranked.

    • Thank you, I'm glad you liked my videos) Okay, I'll try, maybe I should make a tutorial on how to play BeamNG with friends, it will be useful for people! Yes , I am 17 years old ) The difference between the volcan renderer and the regular one is simply that they are different rendering engines. Rendering is when some 3D model is processed (textures, shaders, etc.) and then you start to see the real picture, how it looks. Different engines can process differently. Some make a more realistic and beautiful picture, but for this they need more computer power. This is the rendering of the volcan in BeamNG, with it the game begins to look more beautiful, more beautiful reflections, smooth shadows and so on.

    • Do you mean the assist in the settings or the actual ESC? If the assists are on then that may be why, but either way you'll notice the difference but turning it off is almost always more fun 😅

      @RaisinBarXZ550@RaisinBarXZ55012 күн бұрын
    • @@RaisinBarXZ550By the way. You can't turn off ESC so easily. Simply by switching driving modes, you will not completely disable the stabilization system. For this video, I had to root out all the electronic systems in the car to get rid of the stabilization systems, lol) And it really makes a big difference: whether the driving systems are switched, or no stabilization systems at all.

      @vertviger@vertviger12 күн бұрын
    • @@vertviger oh yeah you're right about that, I've noticed that in a few cars as well, just like real life, where even with systems disabled there's still some amount of stability control at play, so you gotta rip it all out

      @RaisinBarXZ550@RaisinBarXZ55012 күн бұрын
    • @@RaisinBarXZ550Yea. Modern cars simply cannot turn off all stabilization systems. This is at least one of the key security systems. And if it was so easy to turn them off there, then such cars were simply not allowed to be produced 🤔

  • The voice needs some work and you could learn some better dictation. This one comes with time: Giving a bit more varied "melodization" of the voice (as opposed to monotone). You are already nicely advancing through it. Give it 1 year and you should get great 👍 I think you'd win hugely with a better mic or with a sock around the mic. There's reverberation and ever-so-slightly echo in your speech which makes it a bit harder to enjoy what you have to tell. As for the content: Great job! This is very deep and very correct. I do think it would make sense to tell the audience that you are using BeamNG which is digital but models real life physics and systems to almost perfection. Good luck with your next video

  • and bro used beamng for testing, the most unrealistic game in terms of physics

    @hypnoex5282@hypnoex528212 күн бұрын
    • Bro, I hope you're joking ) But if not, I can cite several facts that indicate that BeamNG is the best simulator from all points of view. First, this game has a real air and fluid simulation, which allows you to do very cool experiments with aerodynamics (you can watch my videos about spoilers if you want). BeamNG also has a separate division called BeamNG.tech, which Audi and many other manufacturers of cars and car security systems use as a simulator for testing their new technologies. Doesn't this tell about the peculiarity of the game?

      @vertviger@vertviger12 күн бұрын
    • You cannot just gloss over the fact that the tire model is not even close to realistic. The aerodynamic model of beam ng is not that accurate either compared to assetto corsa or Iracing. I understand your point, but this test would be more grounded in reality in a racing sim. Beam ng is a soft body physics simulator, the best ever, but it is not the most accurate driving sim. Threshold braking is a real thing with non abs cars, they don't have to lock up all the time. You lose consistency compared to abs. Esp is almost an entirely unnecessary aid in any racing sim that will almost always make you slower even with a few years of experience. Esp is still better than traction control which outright cuts engine power. It is alot easier for a driving simulator to showcase these effects. The point is, yes beam ng is a great simulator, but it is not a master of all driving simulation. It gets soft body physics nearly perfect, but the tire model seriously hinders realism and the aerodynamic model is somewhat simplified compared to a real sim. These test are good but lack nuance which is what I believe @vertviger was trying to imply.

      @klacksteron@klacksteron10 күн бұрын
