One day after a chemo treatment my husband and laid on our bed . After 1 1/2 years of treatment and 29 years of marriage I think that was the day I knew he wasn't going to make it and this song came on. I laid there quietly singing this to him while I ran my fingers of his now bald head and tried so hard not to cry. But I felt this song down to my soul. To this day when I hear this song I freely cry now. He's been gone for 8 years now God knows I still love and miss that man.

My daughter died 9 months ago. She was 41 and a drug addict but she walk3d out in front of a car and died from the impact. Every time the song " Running up the hill" comes on I turn into a fountain. Blessings and peace to you.❤

There's nothing about being massively famous that should exclude a song from being considered a masterpiece. There are a lot of songs through the years that I would say check both boxes. With that said, there's certainly plenty of garbage crowding the airwaves.

"Chasing Cars" We'll do it all Everything On our own We don't need Anything Or anyone If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world? I don't quite know How to say How I feel Those three words Are said too much They're not enough If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world? Forget what we're told Before we get too old Show me a garden that's bursting into life Let's waste time Chasing cars Around our heads I need your grace To remind me To find my own If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world? Forget what we're told Before we get too old Show me a garden that's bursting into life All that I am All that I ever was Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see I don't know where Confused about how as well Just know that these things will never change for us at all If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Blessings and peace to you.❤
This has a similar effect on me as it was played at the funeral of a very dear friend.

Nah the oh-oh-oh's completely ruin the song's crescendo. It was really good up until that point but what makes this song great is how it all crashes into you for the last verse. They just fucked that up.

This song is one of those rare examples, in my opinion, of one that, despite its universal fame and absolutely massive airplay, still thoroughly deserves to be regarded as a masterpiece and a classic. There's nothing about being massively famous that should exclude a song from being considered a masterpiece. There are a lot of songs through the years that I would say check both boxes. With that said, there's certainly plenty of garbage crowding the airwaves.

The blond lady playing violin is like an angel, I don’t think I have ever laid eyes on a more beautiful woman than her and her smile actually makes me smile, besides that, this is an amazing remix

His voice transcends the orchestra, truly inspirational song, and one that will survive the ages.
Indeed . His voice is fantastic .
Yes I did!
I think the orchestra gave him more confidence, more inspiration. With the beautiful hall, the adoring audience . . . a beautiful moment.
This version should be realesed as a single brilliant! Every time I come back to it. Very uplifting. We need more of this. X
For me still the best arrangement of a brilliant song.

A beautiful example of when lyrics, vocal quality and instruments combine to allow the soul to soar higher and higher. Snow Patrol really know how to do it. Thank you all so much

Thank you for expressing what I was unable to articulate. This performance is the definition of "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts." We owe Snow Patrol respect.

I'm watching this in 2022. You are not alone.
just sat here on a wet Sunday afternoon listening to this beautiful rendition of this great song and found myself filling up remembering that my late father once sang at this great venue. God Bless Dad.
A drink to your father, sir.

Me too, am 65 years old and I love this music
@@christinalong5786 music doesn’t have a age limit. if you like it. then thats it’s done exactly what the artist intended . Been appreciated by another like-minded person 😄😄😄
Great stuff 👏
In 2019 this song was noted as the most played song of the 21st century on UK radio, up until that time. That’s really understandable, it’s a superb song, played and sang with passion and this ‘live’ version is every bit as wonderful as any studio recorded song ever produced. Thank you for such a beautiful piece of music.
Memories of my friend Paul who died of a stroke..
Its still is in United States of America! 12/10/21. I'm Irish!!

Already a masterpiece but now taken to a whole new level of perfection. Every note is perfect. The crowd at the end are spine tingling. You can hear passion in their voices. Sensational.
This is a masterpiece of music. This performance in the Royal Albert Hall is amazing. Thanks so much for this wonderful music. You also can see the enjoyment of the musicians on their faces while they are playing. My best friend, died a couple of weeks ago, he was like a son to me. He was 47 and is now in God's garden. Every day I listen to this song

I’m lying in my hospital bed wishing I could do that with someone. I feel a lot of sadness, loneliness because I don’t know if I’ll leave ever again. Doctors aren’t very confident 😢

It's the 20yr Anniversary of the Death of my 21y/o daughter. I've been binge watching Greys Anatomy and every time I here this song I remember how much I just wanted to Lay with my daughter and hold her and just forget the World. Shaza L Madison 10/14/78 - 08/30/2000
Sorry for your loss hope you heal. 💕
Marie, I too hope that this at least helps you through your loss . I lost my mother aged 22 and imagine exactly the same thing . The touch, the smell, the laughter and most of all the twinkle in her beautiful hazel eyes. It's been 42 years for me. They stay forever young don't they ?
I am reminded of waiting to hear that My father had died in 2013 from a preventable cause. Like "Denny" in "Grey's Anatomy "
Oh wow. I’m not trying to be corny, but what a loss. For me this song is a bit of an epiphany moment. If it gives you release, I’m very pleased. I don’t know what inspired the composition, but good god did it work.
💗🙏🌈
OMG I'm back every week this is my go to favourite song makes me smile.
