3 short weeks to transform Jason's Defender 110 into the ULTIMATE gundog vehicle! We were certainly up to the challenge, but did we manage it?

That is SOOO practical, i feel like if he said to his Mrs "have you seen my phone ?" and she said, it's in the gun draw....its in the dog food bin .... it's in the dummy/game bag bin" .... he could go to it instantly, such a brilliant build 😳 i'll be in touch when i win the lottery 🤭
Ive always stopped myself from starting a business retromodding cars for people, because i thought people know how to do it already. But seeing this, i realise thats not true, and i see just how easy it is to completely blow the average (non car) persons mind with very simple upgrades.

You love it or hate it Henry! It's one of the many conversations we have with clients before we start work. If they want it, we build it!
Got some very nice alternatives to the chequered plate pattern in RSA... Little knobs diagonally across the fenders and bonnet plates. Wish I could send a photo... The plates on the sides is actually not for show, but stiffens the soft aluminium that get hammered in rough off road situations.. Nice Landy, nice job...

Whilst our Squire vehicles are worthy of a convoy, this was a special event, rather than the norm ;)

Next stage, EV power plant, then it will be a true outdoor, clean, quite, powerful in any situation vehicle ....
And utterly useless for off-road or sustained hard work for 16 hours or more in foul weather.

Always a hot topic! Landcruiser or Landrover…. We have done a 200 series Landcruiser and must say it was a beast!
@@squireeditionsltd As using an unreliable vehicle in the Australian outback, can have extremely serious consequences, there are few LRs to be seen. I guess like VW T2s, LR has a cult following, and all the downsides are ignored?

@@squireeditionsltd As they say in Aus... If you want to go Bush use a Land Rover. If you want to get home again, Use a Landcruiser. Absolute no question about it. I loved my Def 90 County SW 2.4 Tdi, but at 5 years old, (I bought it new and loved it) it was a rot box. Despite being waxoiled before it ever went on the road. That's aside from constant mechanical issues (but not the Engine which everybody slates).
@gloomygoblin my 1995 defender is the most reliable out of all my vehicles actually, which are two audi a3, an iveco daily, an isuzu trooper and a vw transporter. Had it 22 years and only let me down once. And I'm an arborist so it gets absolutely abused, all day long. The landcruiser is phenomenal, and will outdo a defender, but as for reliability issues, that argument is outdated and irrelevant, usually espoused by those who but a "cheap" defender or who can't afford one.
So just a blingy Chelsea tractor then🤷♂️

Actually the grenadier isn't a patch on the old defender in my limited experience and talking to owners of both.....

This defender is no longer produced so it’s irrelevant to say how great it was
hmmm.. having looked at one up close.. I'm not so sure. Firstly... 13.5 meter turning circle.. 70cm wider than a regular 110 which was already terrible.. also.. 4 full turns lock to lock to add insult to injury.. 2.9tons... no matter which engine you choose, drinks like a fish... Good BMW auto gearbox though.. Interior space is barely any different either despite the bigger dimensions.. Yes, the Grenadier would be safer in an accident as a result... I'll give you that. The looks are ok, but there's no escaping echoes of a Ssanyong of old.. and.. if emerging owner experiences are to be believed.. quality control leaves a lot to be desired, coupled with poor dealer support (allegedly..). I seriously considered one earlier this year.. but I'll happily stick with my JE Engineering modified 110.. which also happens to drink like a fish having a 4.8 V8 300hp+ engine, but that was by choice.
I may be nice to a certain point, but I don't see anything really that special. It is boxy, square, and really not all that appealing. And playing the sombre music in the background doesn't help either.
Land Rover really like that boxy aesthetic and you either love it or hate it! The Defenders have a huge cult following, and we are a little bit in love with them. We don't just work with Land Rovers though, so keep an eye open for curvier projects!

Checker plate!Poncy alloys and fat poseurs tyres. The only thing missing is a fucking 'One life live it' sticker on a snorkel that will will never earn its keep.
We'll try to get a video day with Jason so that you can see the tyres being put to good use! That beast goes off road every day.
It look great, the utility defenders are beautiful looking trucks. I’d could nt drive that to a shoot it’s too cheesy / cringe factor for me.
