Biggest "One Season Wonders" In Football History
So Cisse scored 24 goals in a season before he went to Newcastle. How is he a one season wonder then?
As soon as I saw Cisse on this list I knew it was a joke
This video is bullshit
He was a one season wonder. Was amazing in that second half of the season. Then after that he was invisible
@@curtisgibson635 but he score 24 the season before
Because if you don't do it in the PL it doesn't count
"In football history" or Premier League?
Well Coco and Graffite was included so not only pl players
Didn't know that "football history" starts from 2000-2001 🤣🤣🤣
Video probably made by some millenial English people in this channel who thinks the world revolves around them and football existed only in the past 20 years.
Same thinks
Well said..
Santa Cruz was not a one season wonder. Although never as prolific as his 07-08 season for Bayern or any other club in Europe, he still managed to make over 200 appearances and score more than 50 goals for the Bavarians. During his 8 season spell at Bayern he won 13 trophies including 5 Bundesliga titles and a Champions League title. Couple that with him being the record goal scorer with 32 goals for Paraguay and being their most capped player earning 112 caps. And his time at Olimpia has been solid. Hardly a one season wonder.
Agreed!
31 goals in 155 match is not good though
Yeah he was a beast. Can't believe he was on here lol
Lol this comment just justified why he is a 1 season wonder. First of all, his national team has nothing to do with this so there is no point of bringing that up when the whole point of this is his club career. Ya he was an average bench player at Bayern, then wtf after happened after 1 season wonder at Blackburn?
@@arturovenegas3835 exactly
Krzysztof Piatek (Genoa/Milan) 2018/2019 played 42 matches all competition and scored 30 goals
Then the dude literally disappeared
@@CarassiusAu he has he’s chance now, he is back in serie a and played 4 matches scoring 3 goals I think we need to wait a bit to know if he wasted it all or not.
Too early, to say, These players carreer's have ended.
We miss the pistol celebration. He was easy anytime goal scorer bet every week.. went Germany and did nothing
Paco alcacer when he reached Dortmund that guy was scoring more goals from bench than main strikers
His Spain record was insane too. He never should have gone to Barca.
Michu got injured... Nothing else , he was talented... He was rated so high 🔥
Yes, what a shit video… Michu had a very fragile ankle, he got injured a lot and retired early
@@amarengof yea they should highlight the injury...
@@amarengof he’s still a 1 season wonder
He spent his whole career in the second division bar three seasons. Not that talented.
El Shaarawy, only half a season though after Balotelli come to Milan. He is still a decent player
Biggest one season wonder in Brazilian football that I remember was Hernane. He went from 4th division side Mogi Mirim to Flamengo (top flight and one of the biggest clubs in Brazil) in 2012. In 2013 he simply scored 36 goals in 58 matches and helped his (at the time) financially troubled club to clinch the Brazilian Cup in a surprising campaign. He had other seasons with a good number of goals after that, but only for teams that were in 2nd division (Sport and Bahia). Now he's 36-yo and playing for non-league side Lemense He gained the nickname of 'Brocador' (something like 'The Driller') and the media discussed if he should be called up to the Brazilian National team, but he wasn't)
I also remember Damiao, he had international caps too but never heard from him again
@@rehman1833 Damiao the next Ronaldo used to call him
@@rehman1833 he was a good player for a few years for inter
In Brazil we had a lot of one season wonders
Salah is a one season wonder for five season in a row
Bro I swear his haters always call him a 1 szn wonder 😂
Same with Harry Kane.
Cisse was never a one season wonder
Papiss Cisse was a legend for that half a season when he arrived back from the ACON. Never been more excited with a Toon signing than Shearer in 95.
Not a newcastle fan but i am sure many fans including me will remember THAT goal vs chelsea for years and years! 😅
how can he be a one season wonder if he was already a beast in freiburg. he was one of the best strikers in the bundesliga
Coco for Seedorff is one of the biggest steals ive heard of
Danilo for cancelo
@@lor_de_sater4045 Not really. Juve knew exactly what they were getting in the exchange. All they cared about was the wage difference. To keep Ronaldo with his fat wage they had to scrap costs left and right, sell promising prospects, exchange players (often with loss of quality), and look for opportunities like the brillant Ramsey, Rabiot, Cuadrado and Morata. But Coco for Seedorf is different. I still remeber that season of Serie A. Remember that Milan derby that went terribly wrong for Inter? 6-0. Seedorf more than any other player was booed that game, I even remember that orange that fell on his head at the corner kick. Seedorf didn't like that season with the nerazzurri. Inter really thought they were making a good exchange. That my friend as we all know today was a great misjudgement.
Michu really did fall off a cliff after 12/13.
They should have sold him to Man U
@@007Fusiion facts
Injuries man
He is a cult hero nobody will forget Michu
Wilfred Boni should be amongst this players
The fact Man city chose him over Dybala 💔
Wilfried Bony had excelent seasons in the Czech league. He was a very popular player here.
@Stephen Greenhorn And before Swansea he was doing good at Vitesse Arnhem for 2 years , he became topscorer of the dutch league in 1 season (31 goals in 30 games) . Before that he was the topscorer of Sparta Prague . So hardly a one season wonder ......
Biggest "One Season Wonders" In Football History =no....... "Biggest "One Season Wonders" In English Football History" =yes

Many one season wonder but I pick Michu...he is the only one who become GOAT in one season and won a silverware
Graphite - on this list - won the Bundesliga Scored more goals than he played games.
Haters were so desperate for Mohammed Salah to be on here. But it seems he's a 5 season wonder now
I remember Coco at Inter. He's actually gooa attacking wingback BUT his fitness level killed off his chances for a comeback. Playing close to 4 season at Inter proof that he has what it takes at the top level. If only he has the medical team of present day Inter have he might stood a chance.
Mohammad Salah is now 'Five season ➕ wonder'😘😘😘😘I love it
Mikael Forssell 17 goals with Birmingham in the prem 03/04 season. Didnt hit double figures again untill returning to he’s homecountry at older days. He’s second best season was 13 goals in championship with Palace.
Ironic how most of one season wonder players are from attacking players. So they just valued them based on how many goals they can score?
yuh
Yh but I believe that's bullshit. I understand strikers are meant to score goals but look at Firmino at Liverpool
So if cisse scored 24 in germany and was a half season hit in england isnt he a 1 1/2 season wpnder?
Love it when Walsall get mentioned It is the most joy I get at the moment 😅
Adnan Januzaj is another
For real
Michu was a boss that season always seen him on the Premier Review show. I miss that show.
So happy to see a Zimbabwe player here love from Zimbabwe
Where is Krystof Piatek
I shead tears for Michu because injury limits him alot, a man of many talents.
This video a serious blast from the past
Some players had good seasons till injuries ruined their careers
How can Grafite be only a one season wonder? He was a very good player for years in Brazil, then went to Germany, became a champion there, two years later was in the world cup and after all of this decided to chase money Not bad at all
man if these players focused more on their career they would be legends at football
Can you do The most underrated Players ever
The most underrated player is Wayne Rooney for me
Guti
Ain't no such thing as underrated or overrated in the world of Social Media..
@@siamrahman4588 one of the most overrated players of all time
Filippo inzaghi...
Make a video of top underrated players
Most of these strikers played in 4-4-2 system and you cant count only their statistics but controbution to the team and thats why Santa Cruz and Grafite should not be on this list, you better mention Ivan Klasnic or Soren Larsen and of course Ailton…
Salah was supposed to be one season wonder according to rival fans but went on to become two season wonder, 3 season wonder , 4th and 5th 😆
Dele Alli is the epitome of one season wonder
Nah he was good from about 19 - 22
@@mowleed2000 22?? he hasnt been good for about 3 seasons now
@@Troop- isn’t he 25 ?
That makes no sense. He had good season from 2013-2019
Papiss Cisse scores 24 goals in a season before Also Papiss Cisse, is a one season wonder because of a half season 13 goal season
as long as i see wilfried bony i’m satisfied
The season before michu arrived in swansea he scored 17 goals in 1 season in la liga how is that a 'one season wonder'
So ricketts is labelled a “one season wonder” with 12 goals in a season yet teemu pukki at 3:52 is sighted as a premier league failure, despite the fact he got 11 goals in a season with one of the worst premier league teams in history. That makes no sense to me at all and this video sucks
Michu got Injured, and never truly recovered
marco negri is a good 1 from rangers 97-98 season, 23 goals in first 10 games, finished season with 32 league goals in 30 games, then injured his retina, after the first season he only played 4 more first team games for rangers.
Alvaro Negredo for Man City during 2013/2014 season. He was a goal machine.
He was a beast in Sevilla bro
@@rafaelemilianoaguilarcapet9579 He was a great player when he was playing for Valencia too
No, he scored 9 league goals, was dropped and shipped out. As the others said, he was far more prolific at clubs in Spain,
Paco alcacer for dortmund
Mark Hughes was the next City manager after Eriksson
Can't believe we don't have Adel Taraabt on this list!
Santa Cruis had a great comeback though in Sivilia
If not because of injury…..Michu might conquer the football world.
Carlos Alberto biggest moment Winning the Brazilian Cup for the team that created him and his brother in 07 FFC
Where's Salah? Oh, wait...
Michu was so freaking good but the injury he got honestly ruined him so much.
Indeed, the injuries should have been mentioned.
And they say Salah is a one season wonder
Pukki was and is again a premiership quality striker and hes scoring a good number of goals as he did last time
Benjani’s celebration was sick
Josip Drmic for FC Nurnberg in 13-14 season scored 17 league goals - 3rd result in Bundesliga after Lewa and Mandzukic yes, he got only injures in Bayer Leverkusen but he never be the same as he used to be
I like Michu so much that season. He got injured the next season, I really affected him.
Everyone knows the greatest "one season wonder" is Harry Kane - 232 goals and counting
Dave Whelan was the owner of Wigan, not the manager.
I’m a simple man, I see Michu, i click
How Papis Cisse is a one season wonder baffles me. He was already shining before he came to the EPL
Santa Cruz did great in Malaga
Coco and seedorf exchange was the best😂
Alberto carlos is a trauma for Werder Bremen Fans. His and Wesley’s transfers ruined the club
I remember Michu was bought with 2 million pounds that season. just that one season of performance is well worth every pound Swansea paid him, a shame that injury got the best of him.
People should know (Michu)he was injured too start of the next season which hampered him all his career 🙏🏼❤️
I remember people said Salah will be one season wonder
Amr Zaki is the best Egyptian to ver grace the fields of the premier league....I can't think of another....YNWA
RIP pappise we love you
Lmao he is alive
I think you mean Cheik Tiote ?
Just want to point out that mark Hughes was city's manager after sven, not Mancini!
You've got to wonder about guys who come from no where and tear it up for one season then fall apart. Like they were taking something banned before they arrived in the Prem and then couldn't keep doing that once they started getting tested regularly and their performances dropped off as a result.
Why only strikers as one season wonders? Plenty of midfielders and defenders could be in list too. Off top of my head the cm johnson at mancity, phil jones
Lingard should be in here
He not a one season wonder 2017 good season and the west ham season a good season so not really a one season wonder
He has never been good though 😂
You left Andy Johnson, Cicinho, Marcus Stewart, James Beetie
Bayern Munich might dominate the Bundesliga these days 😂😂😂 priceless
3:13 Roberto Mancini didn't replace Sven as City manager Mark Hughes did.......
Michu had the midas touch
Pretty unfair to use Teemu Pukki as an example of a striker who excels in the Champ but struggles in the PL. His team struggles in the top flight, but he's still got into double figures in both his seasons in the Prem.
Diego Milito season 2009-2010
Arshavin for Arsenal should be on this list
“Dave Whelan the Wigan Manager” Are you sure about that?
I wanted both Amr Zaki and Santa Cruz to my club.
Pukki was a 2 months wonder
Stories like Benjani are sad and it's what we don't see, he was happy at Portsmouth and never wanted to join City
2017-18 Mo Salah should be on the list
Christian benteke belongs on this list
Who else thought they had hair on their phone screen @3:40 lol
I agree
Federico Macheda, Thomas Vermalen, Felipe Anderson at Lazio
Krasic should be in this list.
The reason they are all one season wonders is bcoz premier league defender knew how to guard them after the next season
Alfonso Alves Middlesbrough 2006
Luka Jovic
Demba Ba , Papis Cisse ,Dele Alli ,Drinkwater , Victor Moses , Payet , Julio Baptista , Darren Bent ,Grazziano Pelle ,Dempsey , Martial ,Sigurdsson , Joe Hart , Grealish , Ings , Maddison , David Luiz , Sturridge ,Lallana ,Bafetimbi Gomis, Arnautovic, Shaqiri .
imagine being a full time football youtuber and thinking Roque Santa Cruz was a one season wonder. Huge yikes.
Adnan Januzaj when he was Man United's best player
Dani Guiza 2008
How did Carlos Alberto get an Icon then?
Jon Stead 2004-2005 for Blackburn rovers
