Spylab is a collaboration between Kenny Inglis and Jon Gillies. They released their debut album 'This Utopia' and on Chicago's seminal Guidance Recordings in 2001
I felt like this album really hasn't gotten enough love as it should. If there are any other triphops you'd like to see me upload, let me know in the comments.

As trip-hop should be: cinematic, yet able to vibe with '90s coffeehouse muzak
That’s a perfect way to describe it

As a designer, the moment when I saw the cover art I knew this would sound fire as it does.
Nobody: "How mid 90's to 2000's can you get? " Someone: *plays this* Everybody: "yes"

"A hazy, laid-back take on drum & bass from The Hague-based beatmaker, inspired by jaunts along the Californian and Argentinan coasts." - SpyLab
This is one of the best Trip Hop albums I've heard in a long time they had so much variety no two tracks were alike if this group never made another album in this style they made a masterpiece🎉
Reeeeal Portishead / Tricky / Massive Attack vibes my doods dig it
love this 96-2001 trip hop era
Sunday afternoon listening vibes with some incense burning and my cat chilling by the sofa
Early 2000s coffeehouse. Remind me of Mass Effect

Good lord this is absolutely incredible from start to finish!!! One of the best trip hop albums I’ve ever heard. Dark, emotive, spooky, beautiful, chill. So many vibes all in one album. That last track “the call” is awesome especially. I have had this whole thing on repeat lately.
Well i must say that's made my day. Pleased you found the album and glad you enjoyed it :-)
@@kennyinglis7953 oh of course ! I realize now that you are one of the creators of this stunning music. Thank you for blessing the world with such incredible art. What a gift 💜
@@Julsies7 Well thank you for listening 🙂 Got some links for a couple of things that i've done since but not sure how to share them.
@@kennyinglis7953 oh! That sounds exciting 😬Hmm I’m sure you could put them on SoundCloud or KZhead or Spotify or maybe bandcamp - do you use those platforms ever ?

is this satanic black metal?
Correct 👍
The album is great but the chorus on track 5 is truly annoying
The Call is a classic example of an unreliable narrator.
This is what i will listen to on an airplane on my way to paris to conquer it 🥸 thanks!
