Samsung release the much awaited update that allows us the users to official turn off the Gaming Optimizing Service GOS!
But does it make sense at all? What do we gain and what do we loose?

Thanks again for doing this test. I imagine something similar, that the phone was going to get hot and at the end not much gain. I won't be turning that off but instead I will use the plugins . Good video.

Test camera open and close . You can simply make a short on it.
Why the heck people care so much about genshin ? It's a bad representation of what the device can do, other games also don't have the max settings available wich proves that they aren't optimized, there are alot more interesting scenarios like emulation, psp, ps2 and more that the iPhone will never be capable of, and that my friends it's the beauty of Android

I play emulators and Game Booster does increase my gaming experience a lot when I set it to max FPS. For PS2 and GameCube I do have to do some underclocking, and then I get like you got in Genshin Impact where you saw higher FPS in one place and lower in another, but, at least in the case of the emulators, it means it is running to it's pick performance. Some games are capped to 30 FPS. I love my emulation experience on my S22 Ultra, I have the SD 8G1 model.

A good test with Genshin Impact is going into a domain or abyss. My problem is that when I start the domain or abyss, it take 3-5 seconds for monsters to appear, which is a problem. Good test to try out and show us. Please test it out.
Why is it I don't have a lab section but I do have a game optimization section that's not inside labs.
Will there be any problem with the mobile if game booster is on? Should I keep the game booster on or off? And what can be done to get better performance in the game? I just play pubg mobile
You mentioned Andrei from Anandtech! I'm sad he left, I don't trust any other SD Gen 1, E2200 reviews and so far they've all been very amateurish and not so detailed, as his were 🤕
He was hands down the best 🙌
I asked him on Twitter if he will review the E2200, but never replied, I believe he is done with this at least at the moment

Gpu watch drops the frames significantly make sure it's off, it creates a stres and load on the phone 👍🏻

What this tells me is that they don’t have the ability to really use the full power of the device, they must have realised in production that it must significantly overheat the device and eat up battery life. Because this new update doesn’t seem to really do anything, as I saw another reviewer Golden retriever do some testing and it actually showed you are better off keeping GOS on as the difference was too small for the extra battery drain and heat issues. Honestly I tend to only really mobile game on tablets, since iPad 1 to now iPad M1 12.9 I only game on tablets which is why I notice such a big difference when I then go game on my mobiles. If you love mobile gaming but prefer android for phones..if you can invest in an apple tablet you will not regret it for the gaming. The experience is second to none.
There is tab s8 as well which doesn't heat up either
No phone with passive cooling is able to sustain its 100% performance right now. You can only argue that the current performance of those Android SoC's isn't anywhere near efficient, as the ones from the iPhones
@One Core Game Optimising Services only affects games. It hasn't to do with the phone performing poorly and heating up while not gaming, both the SD Gen 1 and E2200 are just not efficient enough
Can you test with gos off with the phone cooler?It might works well. I have just paid for s22+ still waiting for it .
I play with fan and gos off and phone doesn't get hot but I also turn off everything else and make phone not able to do anything but run the game
Tried gamebooster and it doesnt work well with genshin, imo the best option is to set graphics of the game to its lowest, overall sad for purchasing a £1000 phone that can be beaten by some midrange phone (poco f3). Samsung should let us owners decide what we want to do with our phones since we bought it.
I don't get your argument. Yeah probably poco f3 or whatever many different phones are out there which perform better due to better optimization. But what do you mean when you say "samsung should just let us decide what to do" I mean you asked and they implemented and probably will get better from here onwards. Like what the hell are you gonna do? Like they should just let you handle their software and chip manufacturing business just because you bought their phone? Lmao

While playing game when the phone reaches above the limited level of temperature, the GOS automatically reduces the frame rate of the game to reduce heating. When the temperature goes down, the fps get back to the normal level. It's what actually the GOS dose

Well, it turns out GOS is actually a good thing. About Genshin, I have heard that it is just not well optimized for Android by the the game developers of Genshin, as they are focused on Apple and I am pretty sure they have yet to release an update of the game targeted at RNDA2 GPU in Exynos 2200. Maybe we should focus on less shitty and badly optimised games for android to judge the phones performance?

It's not just Genshin. Pls do some practical research before spreading your general headcanons. Other demanding games such as Grid Autosports, DR, Detention also run poorly on my base S22 whereas our iqoo 7 with SD888 runs the said games better.

I was so hyped about this phone that I sold my 13 pro max to get this and unfortunately I have the shitty laggy ass buggy Exynos version and it feels like using an android from fucking 2013 with terrible terrible battery life, worst decision ever.
