  • This is what I imagined driving behind James Bond would be like when he deploys smokescreen. XD

  • Nicely done, that spray does look brutal.

    • It looks really fake imo. I’ve played a lot of racing games and the best is GT7 weather effects. This game has a lot going for it but if they want realism the spray affect needs to be toned down like a lotttt, the spray affect kills it for me.

  • eau rouge can be full throttle If you up shift to 6th gear and back to 4th really quickly as your coming out of the puddle and up the hill. 5th to 3rd would work too depending on setup

  • That spray is so intense it seems literally impossible to handle. Is that an accurate depiction of what it's like in real life? I can't imagine race organizers allowing racing to happen in those types of conditions (admittedly I don't follow racing, so I may be completely off base here). Even if this is an accurate depiction of spray conditions, the game seems virtually unplayable in this mode. Oh, and before I forget, great race, lol!

  • Letting the LMP2s rev beyond circa 6500RPM in these conditions seems utterly psychotic. My instincts were screaming at me every time you kept accelerating out of second and third gear and letting it get to limiter. Glad it didn't bite by the end. Also, my kingdom for the gravel trap on the outside of Pouhon to return. Also also, it's really quite disturbing reading someone who very clearly has not the slightest clue about what they're trying to discuss, as Garhompy was in Twitch chat there regarding F1 in the wet, do it with such unwavering confidence.

  • GTPs are apperently really difficult to drive in the wet. Even in top splits GTPs struggle to match LMP2 pace on damp tracks, let alone these conditions. GTPs are quite a bit heavier and have a more power. In wet conditions the weight holds them back in the corner and they can't really use their power out of the corners. I would not be surprised to see LMP2s fighting for the overall lead, while it's still wet in the 12h Sebring this weekend (forcast shows high probability of rain at the start of the race). GTPs will obviously be a faster again once the track dries. For driving in the wet: Try to avoid the dry racing line. Under braking put your car about a car width further to the inside than what you would normally do. In the corner take a bit of a wider line to keep your outside wheels off the dry line. And avoid puddles of water at all cost. Those are really deadly. It also helps to put your brake bias a lot to the rear. When you use a 49.5 bb in the dry, you can probably lower it to like 47% in the wet without having any problems. Front tires have a lot less grip in the wet.

    • Can confirm - in many of the IMSA Week 1 races that stayed wet throughout, LMP2 cars were winning overall more often than not, even in stacked Top Splits.

    • Weight actually helps in wet conditions as more force is being applied to the surface helping move water out of the way and improves mechanical grip. LMP2s have more aero grip helping them a lot more in medium to high speed corners. What catches the GTPs out is that the rear if the car is very loose. They also have the additional rear wheel drive from the hybrid on top of the already rear wheel drive mid engine. You have to really move that brake bias back and turn down the hybrid to improve the stability. But even then, they struggle in those medium and high speed corners compared to the LMP2s. I find I'm quicker than the LMP2s in low speed corners, but LMP2s catch up quickly in the higher speed corners.

    • @@SeaGLGamingI'm not sure, more weight is helping, even in the wet. While it might help a little in very wet conditions, to not hydroplane in the deep water, I can't really see any benefit in medium wet to damp conditions. Intuitively I would prefere a car with less weigth. LMP2s having more downforce than the GTPs would be new to me as well. Given the fact that GTPs and LMP2s have very similar speeds through fast corners I don't expect the LMPs to have more downforce, even in max downforce configuration for the LMP.

      @Rabauterman@Rabauterman2 ай бұрын
    • @@SeaGLGaming False, what are you talking about? GTPs have most of their hybrid power to the front so they are actually 4wd in acceleration. The fact of the matter is that GTPs are heavier and in rainy conditions they cant utilize their power so the lighter LMP2s are able to go just as fast with less power. Their downforce levels are practically the same. LMP2 is just simply easier to drive so people make less mistakes. GTPs are lethal in the rain.

      @Otakahunt@Otakahunt2 ай бұрын
    • @Rabauterman Yes, in damp track conditions, downforce is definitely more important than weight. In waterlogged conditions, weight is more important. That's what I've experienced so far as well testing for Sebring 12H. In a damp and drying track, the LMP2s really take off compared to the GTPs. Meanwhile, in heavy rain, the GTPs much more easily move the water out of the way and can power through the puddles whereas the LMP2s end up hydroplanning more easily. I found that in heavy rain conditions, I can easily fire off compared to LMP2s and don't have an issue with them, but as the track would dry, the LMP2s would come alive and be seconds faster. Key to the GTPs is just working them in patiently. Takes a lot of effort heating those tires in. They like driving on ice out of the pits, and you have to properly ease into them for them to heat up and grip.

  • Did you finish that Nürburgring race? The finish line is after the chicanes. Looked like you stopped early.

    • Yeah I continued round to be sure, but the engineer only says what he said there when your cross the line, so I’m pretty sure the finish was at the start of the straight (for whatever reason)

  • Prob some of the worst spray affects I’ve seen 😂. It looks like you’re racing the clouds. It needs to be toned down like a lot! GT7 had this issue on release and people complained so they fixed it and it’s been the most realistic ever since
