The Most Perfect Country in Africa | Botswana

The Most Perfect Country in Africa | Botswana is a video about me exploring the southern African country of Botswana. I travel across it and pass through, Kgate Hill, Mokolodi, the central mall, Thapong visual arts center, and then I end up at the largest salt pan in the world (Rysana salt pan), Makumutu Lodge where I ate crocodile meat for the first time. I will show you what Botswana is like through my eyes and some of the best things to do in one of the most beautiful African countries. Do like, watch, and enjoy.

  • Batswana people are people of harmony. I am Xhosa and started staying with Batswana from the age of 6. My father worked in the mines for 45 years literally around Batswana all the time. I experienced a good childhood. I don't remember any violence or bad things happening in and around the commuties i stayed in. They used to help me with my homework and i came out with a distinction (81%) on my matric certificate and the whole community celebrated with me and my family. I further studied Bachelor of Education, now pursuing my master's degree in Languages, mainly preserving our African languages : Setswana language. I can relate to it better compared to more languages.

    • Me and a mate drove to Potchefstroom in the North Western Province of South Africa from Joburg one evening on a whim. When we got there we went straight to a local night club. I lost contact with my friend in the club and my phone was flat. I'd already made friends with a group and they offered me a comfy bed at no cost, next morning I called my friend and he came to pick me up. Tswana people are so laid back.

Learnt a lot and was inspired by their educational system, wildlife and how they managed to use a single national resource, diamond 💎, to make the country better. Good healthcare, good education, great wildlife conservation and wonderful people. About the size of Texas in landmass but with less people, almost 2.6 million people. They visited a research body called BIDPA (Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis) where they got a template on how Botswana planned to achieve it’s development goals. This is how Rwanda got the ideas for Vision 2020 (we had Vision 2016 and now Vision 2036)and learnt about things like National Development Plans aka NDP, which Botswana has been doing since independence. We are now on NDP12. We are happy to have spread some prosperity to Rwanda. Keep shining!

The three chiefs went there to seek protection(it's a fact taught in school syllabus)because they feared Cecil John Rhodes will take or colonize their land, and also feared the Boers/Germans in Namibia were also close to doing the same.

We visited the Makalodi Game Reserve and i had the best time of my life. The people are contagiously happy, easy going and generous. You should have visited any of their shopping malls, they have a lot of malls scattered all over Gaborone. • This brought back a lot of fond memories. I grew up in Botswana for 22 years of my life and I am 39 years old. You did a fair coverage of the country and I am thinking of going back to visit all my friends and family that I left there.
