Dirty Volkswagen Polo Deep Clean | Exterior Car Detailing
In this video I’ll be deep cleaning this Volkswagen Polo. This car had a lot of grime built up in all the intricate areas such as the door shuts, panel gaps and badges as it usually is only taken to the automatic car wash. I’ll be giving this car a thorough wash, tar & iron removal and applying some long-term protection.

Some people can't wait for the latest episodes of Stranger Things, The Walking Dead, Top Boy etc. I know how they feel.....I'm the same with the latest episode of Autocare HQ and some Heather time!! 😁😍🙏 Top job as always!! Nice technique on the door shuts.....be trying that myself! Brilliant!
Haha thanks very much I appreciate it! Glad you're enjoying the vids!
Is this just a hobby still or have you started doing it as an income ? Great quality on the videos btw !
You're right up there with Car Cleaning Guru when it comes to relaxing detailing videos
Hello Caretakers. This is the best result you can get without polishing and without high level coating. The best solution for a daily driver, which will sadly face some hard work in his future. Good job.
I really enjoyed this video Heather. I like when you employ products that are regularly available in the US. It’s more relatable to me.
Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it!
Another great result. Amazing how iron fallout remover can have such a visual uplift on white paint.
Thank you! Yeah it makes such a different on a white car especially!
A first class job done by Heather and products are spot on at least the white vehicle looks more like a car know you have given it the Heather touch and you also learn a lot you have got me back into my detailing watching your videos.
Thanks very much for the kind words!
I'm glad I watched this, thank you for the detailed instructions and product names and what they are good for. I deceided recently to wash my own car, because public pressure washers are getting super expensive. Also love the calm voiceover. Subscribed :)
I'm a big fan of your work, I'm new in to the detailing world and I have learn a lot from your videos! Love from Mexico ❤
Thanks so much!
Isn’t there some great products out there now! The industry is really growing and improving - a lot like your channel Heather 😊
Definitely! Thanks for watching 😊
I really enjoyed watching you do your work, you are very talented, a hug from Barcelona!
Love your channel! Really enjoyable and satisfying to watch. You have a nice accent too!
Brilliant Job again Heather love watching your videos can’t wait for the next one cheers

A fantastic job Heather and what a turn around from your hard work to make the Polo gleam once again.
Thanks very much! 😊
I always look forward to your uploads. Outstanding job and transformation, Heather. Polo was extremely filthy and needed some love. thumbs up
Thanks very much got watching 😊
Great Job Heather! Your content is what I look up too, just spot on editing and voice over 👌 car looked amazing at the end, well done 🙌
Thanks very much Jason! Looking forward to watching your new vid this evening 🙌
@@AutoCareHQ 🙌🙌
Great job heather! Good to see you back.
Thank you!
What a difference, looks amazing well done Heather
Thank you!
Fantastic job, love the editing at the start of the video, great job!!
Thanks Mike I appreciate it!
What a fantastic job Heather What a mess it was to start with superb results bet your were glad when it was finished
Thanks very much Dave!
As usual, another text book example of how to perform a complete exterior detail from start to finish!
Thanks very much for watching!
Another brilliant detail Heather, I must admit I find cleaning white cars harder than most other colours, especially in bright sunlight due to the glare of the body work, looking forward to your next video
Thanks! Yeah I felt like I needed sunglasses tbh 😂
Thank you for the video Heather. Cracking job, you really transformed that Polo 👌.
Cheers Karl!
A very proper detail.👌🏼 Methodical and thorough. Nice.
Thanks for watching!
Once again another fantastic and informative video Heather
Thank you!
Great detail as always Heather, what a transformation, nice to see a white car looking clean xx
Thank you!
Hello Heather, amazing job on this VW Polo, the wheels needed some work but the alkaline wheel cleaner sorted that.
Thanks very much! The front wheels definitely needed some TLC!
Loving the channel Heather. Im in the process of buying a merc Eclass for my Airport transfer company so just getting into safely detailing brand new cars. So finding your channel really useful.
Thanks for watching and congrats on the new car!
@AutoCareHQ thanks Heather. Noticed your pretty local to me, as I'm on the border of North Staffs / South Cheshire, so once I've sorted will prob book a detailing session with you. Be good to get some tips first hand, partic as new car that I need to be an investment.
Watching this why feels so satisfying ❤
Great video Heather you are the master at cleaning white cars. Taking off the number plates made that little attention to detail.
Thank you! I much prefer taking the reg off than using my auto care hq plates over the top, there’s always loads of hidden grime! It’s annoying when the plates are stuck on rather than screwed in though and I can’t do it 😂
You definitely made that VW Polo look mint again Heather, great video again.
Thanks Paul!
Great video Enjoyed watching Learn a lot from you .
Thanks for watching!
Great job. Final result looked fantastic.
Thank you!
Nice work las 👍🏻
Well done Heather, another entertaining and addictive lunch time viewing....
Cheers Nick!
Brilliant job as always Heather, that polo looks great i use the same products on my wheels also they are great products 👏👏
Thanks Eamon! Glad you’re a fan of those chemicals too 😊

enjoyed this great video cant wait for the next 1
Nice job as always Heather 👌
Thank you 😊
Great attention to detail as always, but the gazebo is a great idea!
Thanks for watching? Yep the gazebo was very handy to have
Outstanding detail well done ❤
Thanks for watching!
Lovely job Heather. I think my next cars going to be white rather than my current black, great gloss but so tricky to get perfect.
Thank you! Yeah white cars are much more forgiving, still look great when they’re clean too
Wow, I could eat my dinner off that it’s that clean. Cracking job as always Heather, you never disappoint with these videos. Please keep them coming, I’m learning so much about detailing from you. Just wish I had a garage to do it in x
Thank you for the support!
Great video! 👏🏻
As usual a good result achieved. I have had a few white cars in the past and never liked preparing and waxing them as I found it difficult to see where I had put the wax on but they do look good when they are finished. I have seen the Zirconite products and look forward to updates on it going forward as it is a product I may try in the future.
Thanks for watching! Yeah white cars can be quite tricky when applying protection
Great work! My dad's white Vauxhall Astra was almost that dirty when I valeted it last month. White is wonderful - until it gets filthy!
Thank you! Haha that’s true, it’s a good colour for a transformation!
White is a great colour when clean, but obviously does look shabby when dirty
Great video and a brilliant job on VW very impressive. Thankyou 👍
Thanks very much 😊
Congratulations on a good video! Enjoyed watching it! Joe
Thanks very much Joe! I'm a big fan of your content, your camera work is next level!
@@AutoCareHQ ah no way! That's super cool, thank you! We should do a video together one day?!
That'd be really cool! @@JoeHuntley
Excelente trabalho! Parabéns!
Brilliant job a lot of work went into that
Thanks very much!
Hi Heather I hope you are well here we start with winter weather excellent video honestly opinion do you have a plan to make video about ceramic coatings application I have seen many confuse about it. Best🇨🇦
Thanks Jorge, hope you are well too. I haven't made a dedicated video on coatings but I have got these three vids where I talk through the process for different coatings: - kzhead.info/sun/mNmmc5aQj5GqhGw/bejne.html - kzhead.info/sun/hbSRosZ6eYxpd6c/bejne.html - kzhead.info/sun/qJekpaajmJZ4enA/bejne.html
@@AutoCareHQ thanks I will watch it👍
Fabulous job Heather
Thank you 😊
Excellent content as always
Cheers Steve 🙏
Nice work Heather 😀👍
Cheers Dan!
You have done a great job there on that car there well done, I find that Koch Chemie and Bilt Hamber are my favourite brands for car cleaning/detailing, their entire range is first class.
Thank you! Agreed, both great brands
Great Job Heather 👍👍
Thanks for watching!
I love these videos learnt so much keep em coming shame u don't do courses
Thank you I'm glad the videos are helpful!
Yer really are watched each one bout 10 times lol
Fantastic job, Heather.....always so intricate in your effort for perfection......p.s. those trainers are holding up well 🤣😘
Thank you! Haha just got some new trainers actually 😂
@@AutoCareHQ 🤗🤣😘
Wow! Im not a detailer, just a weekend warrior whos takin care of his new car. So satisfying to watch you work, so clean and smooth! One question i have, wich is the interval for using iron remover solution on paint? is like monthly or more? Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching! It does really depend on how much the car is driven and how it is stored. On average it's a good idea to do it every 6 months, but if the car is driven a lot and stored at the side of the road/ near a trainline then you may need to do it every 3-4 months. It also helps if the car is washed more frequently as this stops the iron fallout building up as quickly. If you wash your car weekly then you may only need to do it annually.
Fantastic job heather! Green star really is a great product. I personally use it at a 3:1 dilution for tires etc. and brake buster full strength for wheels & exhaust only. If brake buster doesn’t shift the dirt then yes I will grab something stronger usually an acid cleaner if it’s appropriate for the wheels obviously lol. Using a full strength product for tires, arches & mats is just not cost effective enough for my frugal mind lol. The best tire cleaner I have found is wise guy by shine supply 1:1 which works very good but if i already buy green star why not use it? I use it as a pre-wash, bug remover, tire & rubber cleaner & sometimes on the interior as well.
Thank you very much! You're absolutely right, Green Star is very versatile and really cost-effective too!
Crazy good job
Hi Heather 👋........another car ready for the showroom! Talk about brilliant white! A superb finish for the Polo........I hope you say to the owner to look after and maintain that paintwork!
Thanks very much! Haha hopefully they keep it clean 😂
@AutoCareHQ Thanks for the reply Heather, have a good week ahead!
You too!
Wow you did a great job cleaning the car.
Thanks!
great work
Great job.
Car looked great. Im still too afraid to use power washer in the door sills. I do a rinseless wash in there. It does slow me down a bit. Thank you for video. I always pick things up!
Thanks Kim! Rinseless washes work great for door shuts, I usually use them if they’re not too bad
Greetings from the states. I forget if it was john from Forensics detail channel or Pan , who said you can add green star to your snowfoam lance with gsf to combine them. It would save you a step. Ive been using the Bilt hamber touchless lately it’s another higher ph shampoo . Jim
Thanks for watching :) Yep I sometimes combine GS and GSF and it works really well! When the car is dirtier though I find the two-step method results in better cleaning as the Green Star becomes too diluted through the foam cannon when combined
Top job heather it's a like and thumbs up x
Thanks for watching 😊
Lovely work 👏 👌 👍 From INDIA 🇮🇳♥
Hi love your videos. What’s your go to way to tackle water spotting? I dry black car after wash with microfibres drying tow but still have water spots. Do you have any recommendations to prevent water spotting? I usually use qd but some times I can’t be bothered 😂
Thank you! You could try using a deionised water vessel to filter your water for the final rinse. I’ve not got one myself as the water here is pretty soft so it’s not much of an issue. I usually just use a QD afterwards to take care of any odd spots
Wow nice job❤❤👏👏👍👍
Great video. Have you tried Bilt hambers products? There auto wash is excellent and only needs a tiny drop in a bucket, something like auto wheels would have cleaned the alloys up in one hit, saves time and different products.
Thank you! Yep I’ve tried a lot of BH products. Off the top of my head I’ve used both snow foams, Auto Wash, Double Speed Wax, Cleanser Fluid and Korrosol, all great products. I’ve not used Auto Wheels though but keep meaning to buy it!
It is great stuff, very similar to Korrosol just bit thicker so it clings.
Yes a pressure washer on a lose rocky surface, very smart.
Great video once again, Heather. I live in quite a hard water area and I find cleaning between car logos - such as ‘Polo’ in this video - challenging as it leaves a film that is nigh on impossible to eradicate. Is there anything you recommend to get these pesky areas up to the gleam that can be achieved on the panels?
Thank you! I usually just use a water spot remover on a soft detailing brush. Carpro spotless and Garage Therapy WSR are good options if you don’t own one already 😊
@@AutoCareHQ Thank you, Heather. I appreciate that and will explore 🚙
🙂👍. Amazing work as usual 👏.
Thanks for watching!
Great job, the owner must be delighted. How long did it all take?
Looks awesome! Do you protect the headlights at all from getting sun damaged? and if so what product would you recommend? Thanks.
Thank you! I just used the Zirconite sealant here as that’s fine for plastics too 😊
Hi Heather, I rather like spray on rinse of products in the winter and have used Autoglym's Polar Seal via a spray bottle (crazy value), whilst not the most hydrophobic it certainly does a good job. I'm thinking of trying some Gyeon Wet Coat for a change, do you have any current favorites in this category?
Gyeon wet coat is a really good option. I've just tried High Definition Detail Bead Coat and that has very nice water behaviour but I've not tested the durability for long enough to comment on that yet. If you're looking for something foam lance-applied instead then Yum Foam+ and Squid Ink Pro Seal are my favourites
Thanks that gives me some options, best wishes.@@AutoCareHQ
You did a good job. How long did the whole detail take you to finish?
Absolutely stunning job! Just a quickie, where'd you get the bucket and grit guard from?
Thanks! They’re both from Carbon Collective
@AutoCareHQ cheers! :)
Love from Morocco ❤
Good Work as always 👍 Out of interest what dilution did you use on incinerate?
Thanks Craig :) Just used it neat here to get rid of the baked on brake dust. I've used it as low as 25:1 though and still had great results on more well maintained cars
@@AutoCareHQ Thanks, Yes it’s a great product
What’s your tips for using the IK Snow gun? I’m using both Autoglym Polar stuff, but no matter how I dilute it it sits on thick like a cream. I can’t power wash atm because my machine has packed in
Also what is your pressure washer set up; that gun looks really handy and powerful
Poland ❤🌹 Super video 👍
Thanks!
Nice job. Do you think if the Polo had been metallic cherry or black, that it would have needed some correction or filler product? I find white is very forgiving. Enjoy your videos, thank you.
Thanks for watching 😊 this car could’ve done with a correction even being white I could see imperfections which bothered me but unfortunately I just didn’t have enough time with it!
Genuinely was ignorant to how many stages there were to cleaning a car! Only just got interested as I’ve just purchased a brand new car for the first time and want to keep it immaculate for years to come… now I need to go shopping for car cleaning products 😂
Congrats on the new car! If you're looking for some recommendations, here's a link to my favourite products on my website: autocarehq.com/recommended-products/
Very nice
Another great job! Did you use the incinerate neat?
Thank you! Yep I just used it neat here. I'd usually dilute it but the brake dust here looked quite stubborn
Would like to know your thoughts on Chromance from EZ Care Care. Be great if they could send you some chemicals to test.
Which is the right combination in an ik spray of GSf and the green bottle. I have the Car Pro lift, it's ok for pre wash?
Yeah Carpro lift is good. I wouldn’t really use GSF in an Ik sprayer but for Green Star I usually use it at 1:9
What product did you use before putting a protection on it?
Great video. How long did it take to get that car looking so good?
Thanks! I think it was about 5-6 hours including filming which usually adds 2-3 hours on
This Vv was really grimey (ewww), good job!
I have the same car only in silver. I am also a cleaning nerd and i can use some aspects of your video. Are you from England and if so from which area ? Kind regards from Stuttgart.
Thanks for watching :) Yep I'm from the North West of England
Got a similar size car to the Polo, just wondered how long it took you to clean it? Thanks 👍
This takes me about 3 hours if I’m not filming
Thanks, takes me around the same when my Fiesta ST needs a proper clean👍 Thanks for replying, take it easy 😁
Hiya. Did you use the Incinerate neat or diluted? Thanks 👍👍
Just used it neat here
Hi it’s been a long time I need to catche up on your videos I hope all is ok 😀 what the best car cleaning products you like the most. Ady
