  • I didnt even notice that the video was made 11 years ago. It really shows the quality, time and effort that was put into this. AND how it keeps helping others even to this day. Marvelous. Thank you for this piece of gold.

    • @austene Tucker oh... I'm alrdy done with my reporting about 3 or 2 weeks ago. During my reporting, my voice kinda change and my mouth are shaking while I'm talking and u know whT? I literally explain it very fast just to finish my report. My body are shaking too especially my legs. But hey, after I finished, I felt a bit of confidence because i did it plus my teacher said "very good". Keep on mind that your explanation should be good and that's it! After that day, we have another reporting too but it was on grouping and all of us are going to report and know what? My shyness level lowered and my confidence boost! I feel like i want to report every single day. You can improve your public speaking by doing reports often so don't stress out yourself about "what will happen?" and abt your shyness.

  • It’s my first year of university. A few weeks I go I had a group presentation where everything I had to stay was changed 30 MINUTES BEFORE I HAD TO PRESENT. as a person with anxiety, I was terrified because I did not practice the new parts. I ended up silent during the presentation and told my prof to give me a minute. I sat behind a desk and cried my eyes out until someone took me out of the class... I have my second and final presentation tomorrow. wish me luck

  • This is a very brief, simple and effective video - well done! It covers the most important rules of presentations in a humorous way. It feels very universal: meaning to me that it may appeal to a wide variety of cultures, and will translate well in many contexts because it shows what you want to convey rather than relying on a talking head. My Advanced Adult ESL class loved it. I only wish you did more. Best of luck.

  • Thanks, well done. The only point I would question is the handouts. Sometimes your audience can be distracted by them if you hand them out at the start. If you must hand something out at the start, make sure it is very simple. I would prefer overall to leave handouts till the end as a 'take-away'.

    • I would love to love public speaking heh, though I stutter and fear speaking. I don't have social anxiety. If I wouldn't have had this stutter I think I wouldn't mind public speaking at all

    • if i didn't have a monotone-ish or stuttering voice, I would not mind doing presentations at all. My voice is the problem! I don't have the perfect American accent and when i pronounce words, it sounds different.

  • Also be well prepared just in case if you mess up but in my opinion don’t be too prepare or else you might forget. Just be prepare and be confident remember “that your audience is made up of humans just like you.” Also my teacher say shake you hands or do jump n jacks to get rid of extra adrenaline. Drink water to be hydrated but not too much. Also be careful with body language. By -ManiacButtHead

  • Basic step number one: have a large weapon on you at all times so the audience feels intimidated by your presence, as you can annihilate them at any moment.

    • Best thing to do for that are index cards. Have an index card, a small one to write your main ideas of your presentstion in a chronological orders. In each of those main idea you should have a deep understanding and knowledge and even just a little bit of script to explain those ideas. This what I do and I ace the presentation everytime
