France in the 2006 World Cup was a team I have never seen again in my life: simply flawless and an absolute pleasure to watch. They should have been the real winners. I watch world cups since 1998 and I have never received such joy from watching a team play. And the most beautiful World Cup match I ever saw was the France-Brazil match in the quarter-finals of 2006. And Zidane was of course a God among men back then. What a legend.

What I find incredible is how young Cristiano was playing against a team with the likes of Zidane, Viera and so many other big French players along with a strong Portuguese team and it didn’t affect him one bit. What I find incredible is how young Cristiano was playing against a team with the likes of Zidane, Viera and so many other big French players along with a strong Portuguese team and it didn’t affect him one bit. Even the French team were struggling to contain Cristiano they had to eventually double up to even try and stop him

Love both players. Both have qualities. For me Ronaldo is the better athlete, speed, power, endurance. Zidane has the better control, vision and makes the more clever pass decisions.
