In my country, brand-new 13 Pro (with Apple's warranty and everything) are still available at authorized retailers, and they are about 184 USD cheaper than 14 Pro (by comparing the ones with same storage size). 14 Pro is definitely a better phone than 13 Pro. No argument here. But, the real question for me is: "Are those additional improvements worth the price difference?" I think the answer depends on the individual. If your answer is "yes", then go for 14 Pro. But, for me, I went for the 13 Pro because I know for a fact that I won't use those extra features in 14 Pro. I take very few photos/videos. I rarely play games. I mainly use iPhone for productivity apps (online banking etc.) I consume some entertainment (KZhead, KZhead Music, etc.) and some social networking (facebook, Twitter, etc.) I don't feel like spending extra money for cool features that I will never use. I'd rather save some for gadgets and possibly battery replacements to be needed in a couple of years. I upgraded from iPhone 6 (yea, you heard that right). I was ready for a new phone. I felt in love with the 13 Pro alpine green when it came out, but I waited for 14 Pro, just in case. I am not rich, but I have been saving up enough to buy either one. And then, when 14 Pro came out, I went to the store and bought 13 Pro alpine green anyway.

If you already have 13 Pro then I don't think you will need to upgrade except if you have the money for it and want the latest and greatest👍🏻 And if you are someone who wants to buy cheaper but almost the same performance with iPhone 14 Pro then the 13 Pro / Pro Max is the greatest choice
I picked the iphone 14 pro as I couldn’t get iphone 13 pro anymore at the Apple stores. Plus, when I upgrade, I tend to get the most latest version as I only upgrade every 3-5 years. I have my 11 for 3 years now, I don’t have any complaints with it as it can still keep up with the iOS updates it’s just that my battery health is pretty bad and my charging port has been acting up. Before I upgraded to the iphone 11, I had the iphone 6 for almost 5 years but it couldn’t keep up with the updates anymore and the battery life would only last me a maximum of 2 hrs, so I was forced to upgrade. I still have it as a backup phone.

That’s what I’ve been saying about the Dynamic Island. The way it’s placed, having that little bit of screen between it and the screen edge, is more distracting in full screen mode. But yeah, I’m definitely in the minority crowd of not liking the Dynamic Island.
Honestly you get used to it pretty quick. I wasn’t the biggest fan but when I picked up my 14 pro I knew it wasn’t too bad. I got used to it within a day, and I don’t really find it to be that distracting personally.

I have an 8+ aswell, had it for a few years but I think it’s about time for an upgrade. I’ll miss the home button too but i’m looking forward to something new. I decided on the 13 Pro mostly as I want the blue colour and the 14 Pro doesn’t come in that.
I'm on the fence about the 13 Pro & the 14 Pro... as a filmmaker. So much to like about both and would prefer the 13 Pro, but those one year-old Pro iPhones are selling off like hotcakes. I would buy the iPhone 14 Pro for the always on display alone. I find customising the lock screen alone useless if I only see it for a second when I unlock the phone.
They are really similar and it's true the lightning port will be gone next year but right now it's impossible to buy the 13 pro (new) and in Spain, the 13 pro refurbished is 990€ and the 14 pro new is 1180€ so in that case I think 14 pro is worth since 15 pro/ultra will be much more expensive probably.

I was gifted a 14pro with 1TB of storage and I’m debating selling it because I bought the 13 when it was BRAND NEW so I dropped $1099 on it last year. I was trying to watch videos to see if I should keep the phone, the notch is a BIG factor for me. Now that you have the phones side by side, the notch on the 13 isn’t as big or noticeable in comparison to the 14. The only thing that’s making me think about keeping it is that 1TB of storage!

I upgraded from 12 pro to 14 pro and it was definetely worth. What could be better? 1. USB-C port: Apple is slready too late for this upgrade. This should be done years ago. 2. Less camera bumps: It’s really gigantic and not ergonomic. It doesn’t stay stable on flat surfaces. 3. Better colors: Sierra Blue, Alpine Green and Graphite were fantastic colors and this year i missed them too much. Deep Purple is not for everyone’s taste and the rest is ordinary. Colors are important for buying decision for many people)

Definitely check out peoples photo/video comparisons between 13 pro and 14 pro for real examples and don’t get blinded by specs. I’m an amateur photographer using X (use separate digital camera vs phone for photos). To me the biggest issue is that island on 14 obstructing WAY more content than the 13! Huge issue! I don’t use a tv, I watch videos on my phone. Look up how landscape KZhead looks. On the 14 the island totally gets in the way, and the only way they could fix it is to make the video size smaller! (Unacceptable). I am VERY surprised Apple decided to have this island obstruct content like this vs the notch being “out of the way”. I really hope they go foreword next year by taking away the island obstructing content. We can best influence their future designs with our money, which is why to me a 13 pro looks like a way better choice then a 14 pro.
@@yoyoos Depending on their sales, but I am guessing they will keep the island for years. The notch was introduced since XR, so that is like four generations of notches. I do not like the island as well since I watch a lot on my phone, so I will be getting the 13 Pro over the 14 Pro.

We love our 14 pros. The DI definitely isn’t noticeable when you use it,it’s like anything else,I done notice it. And I also love my AOD,it definitely doesn’t look like it’s unlocked and on, and it uses 0.8% battery or 0.6% with the black version,the same battery drainage has any other AOD

Phones now a days don't have much to improve, so at this point I believe someone who has 11 pro and below, could just make it straight for the 14 Pro there is no point in going to like 13 pro coz the prices r almost the same, now if u got a 12 pro above unless its a need, there is no point in upgrading now, maybe wait for the 15.

I saved myself money and I love to save money. I bought the iPhone 13 Pro with 100% Battery Health, and have not looked back. I upgrade every 2-3 years but generally don’t buy the newest phone when I upgrade. More money in pockets for other things, but hey that’s just me.😜

If the person has 13 pro its not worth to upgrade only for dynamic island and AoD (which consumes more battery). Coming from 10,11 or 12 pro its definitely a big upgrade, but keep in mind iphone 15 pro/Ultra is coming next year with USB-C probably so the 14pro lighting port will be obsolete pretty fast.
USB-C is not coming next year. Fall 2024 is the EU decision so they can get away with Lightninh another year.

@@MaDFroG88 AOD is not too important, I have seen 14 P users turned it off, dynamic island is new and looks fun but not too exciting to upgrade, day to day pictures 13 P and 14 P are really similar, 48MP and new camera features are not for everyone, most iPhone users don’t even know what is a Mega Pixel, upgrading from 7 plus to 13 Pro will be absolutely amazing, the next iPhone will be mind blowing with USB C and probably design changes

The prices have gotten out of hand here in Europe. I got a sweet offer on last year's model and in the end I had two options: iPhone 14 Pro 128GB - $1500 iPhone 13 Pro 1TB - $1100 I went for the 13 Pro with zero buyer's remorse.

I was torn between getting the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro (I have a pre-owned iPhone XS)! But now that the iPhone 15 line is going to launch on four, five months, I have been thinking that the iPhone 15 pro might be better in terms of quality! Especially when it comes to photography and video - much better than the 14 Pro! At least this is what I’m hoping! I love photography and video, and my career goal is to work from home! IMO dynamic island shouldn't be the deal breaker. It's just a cool animation that visually conceals the opaque area, that's all. Nothing very much utilitarian. Cameras ofc were the real upgrade.

I was like you and had a choice between the 13pro and 14pro. The reason why I chose the 14pro was because I was tired of the notch. Coming from the XR I didn’t want another iPhone with a notch. The dynamic island does have some useful features.
I would like a 14 Pro Max but I switch between an iPhone and a Pixel 7 Pro so the e-sim is a no go for me.
It’s all about price but if you are spending already so much money then you shouldn’t compromise and get the latest one. That new experience won’t disappoint you.
For 100$ more , you can get the latest and greatest

Im still currently using my XR and to be honest not felt the need to change. However it’s staring to feel it’s age, speakers aren’t so great anymore and battery life is depleting. Which should I go for ? Both are going to feel like a big upgrade for sure, 13 Pro seems the best bet as it’s almost the same phone for less 👍🏼
I personally upgraded from an XR, definitely would have kept the xr another year if it hadn’t been broken and dying any day. I’m personally rlly glad I got the 14 pro, yes it’s a little extra money but personally for its it’s well worth it. Although would have been cool to get the potential new design next year

To be honest, the jump from the 13 to the 14 isn’t really noticeable. You’re essentially paying for better cameras, the island, and better processor. The camera and battery upgrades are expected every new model and the island is whatevers

100 percent, I’m in a similar situation as I’m going from s20fe (equivalent to your phone) to the 13 pro in a few months. My brother is selling it to me and I’ve used it and it’s amazing

14 Pro is a beast! Dynamic Island is software genius and I’m jonezing me some of that battery life after coming from the 13 mini garbage. 🎉

i love the 14 just for the brightness & pictures.... i'm a content creator (trying to atleast) and the pictures/filming are phenomenal for that i came from 11 pro max and im literally always speechless when i take a video/picture
