LIFT OFF: 700bhp F-150 Raptor R vs Ford Bronco RAPTOR

2024 ж. 21 Мам.
273 647 Рет қаралды

The Bronco Raptor is a formidable beast - wider than most buildings, and powered by a 412bhp twin-turbo V6 - it’s therefore perfect for doing silly things in the sand and dirt. The F-150 Raptor R, with its 700bhp 5.2-litre supercharged V8, even more so. So we stuck Jack Rix in the former, Jethro Bovingdon in the latter, and told them to go shredding in the infinite off-road playground that is Johnson Valley, California. Things get a little hairier when Jack asks Jethro to “show him the way of the jump”.
ALSO in episode two: The Bronco DR is a bona fide off-the-shelf desert racer (hence the name), meaning for a mere $295,000 you could own a competition-ready, Coyote 5.0-litre V8 powered, off-road racecar capable of conquering pretty much any terrain this side of the moon. Or you could ask Ford very nicely to borrow one, insert Jethro in the middle of the Californian desert, light the touch paper and retire to a safe distance as he demonstrates what makes this car so special...

    • @@albundy6284when you purchase a new Bronco, you get an invitation to a Bronco Off Rodeo, which is a comprehensive off road driving experience that showcases the features and capabilities of the vehicle you just purchased. You don’t drive your own Bronco, rather they provide you with the same model of what you own. So if you own a Raptor, you drive their Raptor. These supplied production Broncos are driven year round multiple times on these courses which includes rock crawling, water fording, high speed off road speed maneuvering, and for the Raptor, jumping. So the Raptors are taken on these similar jumps time and time again with no damage to the frame or components. The suspension was specifically designed for the intended use.

They will put the f150 raptor r and Bronco raptor to shame in the desert and depending on what state you do it in they are street legal. This video was great love seeing top gear do some off road stuff.

    @motorcyclestig8539@motorcyclestig85395 ай бұрын
    • They are after all not street legal in most places because of how extreme they are built, so beating the Raptor and Bronco is to be expected as they could never carry as much or tow as much or be a daily vehicle which is where the Raptor and Bronco outshines them while still being off road capable.

    • @@motorcyclestig8539 I think you need to sit down and calm yourself, if you are an adult you aren't acting like one at all, even kids are more mature than you are if that is the case. I made a comment in reference to what you said directly about the Raptor and Bronco compared to those UTV's, so you tell me exactly what was the miss communication ? I pointed out how you said they were only legal in certain areas and I pointed out how they are obviously more oriented for this type of purpose and not at all comparable to the Bronco and Raptor like you said. I am not being a "dbag", not as much as you at all. I never said you said anything, I simply made the observation of the comparison of their abilities in my comment based on yours, nothing I said was directed personally at you. You act all tough behind a screen, I bet you wouldn't even look at someone's face and talk like that in person, God knows you would be lying 6 feet under if you did.

    • They are *FACTORY VEHICLES THAT JUST **_JUMPED_* , I don't think you have a good understanding of how special that is if you're seriously complaining about their behavior upon landing instead of appreciating the fact that they drove away from multiple jumps each without significant damage (or any at all, really). They are probably driving in Baja mode, which is set up to take whoops at speed, which has the trucks set in a more cushy suspension setting than you'd want in order to do jumps like they were doing and land without bouncing back up. I'm sure there's a way to set those trucks up better for landing without bounce back, they just didn't know how to do that, or didn't care about control upon landing so much as making sure the trucks didn't break from the jumps and making sure they didn't compress their spines.

  • Bro you guys are seriously hating on the ecoboost???? I'm a blue letter master Ford mechanic and I think its the best all around engine available in half ton trucks today. Ive been working for Ford since I discharged from the corps in 2016. I bought a brand spanking new f150 short box single cab with the 3.5l ecoboost in the lackluster xl trim level, converted all the cold side charge piping to ceracoated and heat shielded 3 inch aluminum piping that's now all v banded together. I also stacked a haltech elite 750 on top of the OEM ECU for obvious reasons. I actually picked up almost 60 horsepower with just the charge pipes, mishimoto intercooler, built my own catless 3 inch stainless exhaust that merges both banks into an 8 inch long, 5 inch around piece of vibrant oval tubing, out dual to very small magnaflow resonators then to one magnaflow muffler that dumps out of the bedside just before the rear wheel on the passenger side. I put a camburg long travel kit up front with Qa1 3.0 coilovers and some 12 year old 3 inch king triple bypass. Then their trailing arm and coil over conversion kit out back with 28 year old king 3.0 coilovers and the matching set of king triple bypass for the rear. My truck is 2 wheel drive but it a cycles 18 inches clean up front, 22 out back, makes 434 wheel horsepower on the 38 inch tires, weighs less than 6000 lbs, and all in I only spent $48,712. On top of that the truck is brand new. I only have 8,000 miles on it. I've hit a 60 foot tabletop in it after racing motocross on sunday and the thing just GREASED it. It can travel over virtually ANY terrain at 125mph plus, The wife loves it. And to me, that's all that matters.

This is what the Land Rover and Range Rovers were meant to do, but failed isn't it? You wouldn't try to drive like this with any of those cars in this type of environment.
