Yeah Apple keeps adding cool visualizations, imaging, and AR features. But at the end of the day, a navigation app has to be good at… navigation. And Google Maps is just so much more reliable for navigation.

Sooooo sad, that the iPad M1 hardware is not being utilised. Wanted to really replace my laptop, but now I still cannot.
Unfortunately you can't hook up the new M1 iPads and use them as a "Mac mini". Like Samsung Dex. For me 11" or 13" are way to small for fully replacement

Bro I laughed so hard at this. The iPad Pro is powerful enough for real creative work, but if you just watched Apple keynotes, all you’d know is that this really expensive tablet is darn good at taking notes.

Let’s be honest and also admit that many of Android’s recent additions over the past few years have been very iOS inspired as well, such as all the gesture controls replacing those back, home, and multitasking buttons just to name one big one. And Android is looking very polished lately, which one might jokingly say is also an iOS “feature” 😜. The two platforms are so close now that I doubt many people are switching at this point, not worth it. Both companies get most of their ideas from all the 3rd party developers anyway.

It's the apps that are supposed to take advantage of M1, I don't see how the OS itself can or should use 16GB of RAM, that would just waste battery.

@@maks_st Which is not a bad idea. Preventing a badly programmed app to cause a memory leak across all available memory makes sense for 99% of all apps. For Pixelmator and Photoshop, I am sure they’ll allow the devs to bypass that restriction. 100%

Going to be like that for a few more years. Some things are just better with a keyboard and mouse than on a touch screen. They are making garageband, imovie, and swift playground a gateway drug to logic pro, final cut, and xcode.

my most favorite new feature is the new wind direction in weather app. WSW is just too hard for me to interpret.
This SharePlay stuff addresses something that Apple removed when it replaced iChat with FaceTime. You used to be able to just drag movies, documents, files, and do screen sharing through video chats. Crazy it took them this long to bring some of that functionality back.

I wonder how this Share Play service will handle copyrighted material. It's good though that Apple acknowledges that this type of media consumption is becoming a lot more popular. Even after the pandemic is over, watching movies together with friends is a great way to keep in touch when we are a long distance apart.
It's probably going to be something to the tune of watch parties on twitch, or teleparty: Everyone participating must have an active subscription to the service

why wont Apple add a feature on the the Apple watch where it sends you a notification if your Iphone is losing it connection if you accidentally leave it. seems like a basic feature that all Apple watch should have by default.
