The only reason I'm watching this is to prove to my younger sister that animals are faster than humans. She thinks she runs faster.

I don't remember where i saw a video but someone recorded a cheetah chasing a gazelle and that male cheetah reached 100km/h in 2.9 seconds and a total of 119km/h at full speed. Can you imagine that animal charging you ?

It bothers me when the narrator says, "it's purpose is to kill." No. It's goal is to survive. It has no other choice, like other obligate carnivores. It's not like the cheetah can go to McDonalds, but chooses just "to kill."

What an amazing cat. I have nothing but respect and admiration for this animal that God created to live on this earth to balance nature. It is designed to do in order to survive in the wild. To pursue, kill, eat and feed it's young. What is a mother to do.

As fast as the cheetah is, one would still have a hell of a time catching a North American Pronghorn. The speed goat can turn on the sprint like the cheetah, then throttle back and keep going around half speed for another 20 miles. After the sprint the cheetah is done.

Strike rate of 50%..that's awesome. But they get so tired after that they need 30 minutes to catch their breath. Any hyena(s) nearby take adavantage of that fact and steal their kill.
