Volkswagen Touareg - Automated Parking Demonstration
Demonstration of the automated parking fonction of the 2021-2023 VW Touareg.
The 2021-2022 Volkswagen Touareg now drives into and out of parking spaces fully automatically. Virtually by remote control - from outside the vehicle using a smartphone. With the new Park Assist with remote control assist system. The typical situation: a multi-storey car park at the airport, for example. Just before the flight is due to leave. Narrow parking spaces. And that means stopping the car in the driving lane, unloading the luggage from the luggage compartment, getting in again, manoeuvring the car into the tight space, and finally squeezing yourself out of the car. Stress. Park Assist with remote control now takes over this job in the Touareg. With no stress at all.

In such a gap, you don't need an automatic parking system. It would be interesting in gaps where you have about 20/30cm at the front and rear.

@@Vinterfrid I live in an Area with about 5 Million People, called the Ruhrgebiet in Germany. Either i pick a real small gap where my car fits barely in, or i do park 500 to 1000 Meters away.. Guess what i do. Right, i take the small gap. With PDC at back and front its possible with about 5 to 10 "turns". For people like you, who seem to live in an area with plenty of parking space, or with the luxury of a garage or even a house with parking space on your own property, sure you aren't able parking in such small places. That's what my comment is about. A Gap where you have 1 Meter at front and rear, if you need an assistang to park, you shouldnt drive. I drove a Renault Talisman with a parking assistant. I used it once for a test, but it is to uncomfortable. To slow, need "normal/big" gaps. So i always parked by myself.
Go in a big city. Take a look on how people park in Paris Rome even in Bucharest
Very impressive, but can the car do the same in a parking space that doesnt fit the International Space Station ? and while having 40 pedestrians jaywalking and 50 bikes passing and while waiting for 10 cars to pass by ?

I doubt it can. Such systems aren't capable of extending human capabilities, but simply to keep adding insane amounts of comfort, so that the driver needs to be less and less able to drive himself. I see such systems very critical for this reason, and for the reason of how costly such cars would be to repair in the future, when they grow old. It's very easy to maintain a car from the 50s today, but maintaining this car in 50 years would be so complicated and costly, that nobody will care to do that.
I could park in that space manually not even looking back lol. Question is, can it park in tight gaps?

Would be beneficial to old retired individuals i'm sure of it so as to avoid physically straining thenselves, i would suggest this technology be implemented in affordable cars as well .
This technology will never be in affordable cars, as that would contradict the essence of capitalism.
Age is a terrible excuse for this! You should not be driving if you can not park or are struggling to drive.

As some other people said already, automatic parking isn't that useful in large spaces cause you can easily back up into them yourself, twice as fast. Where they would really come handy is in tight places so that you don't have to worry about not calculating your wheel rotation timing right etc.

Кому нафиг нужна механическая коробка?! 21й век... Может ещё и уроки верховой езды на лошадях надо освоить для вождения автомобиля?! Сейчас редкие бренды вообще имеют опцию с механикой, разве что какой-то дешман, или спецтранспорт для спорта и подобных задач. Самая популярная машина в США и Канаде на дорогах - это Хонда Сивик седан и там нет даже опции с механической коробкой передач, если только ты не купишь "спорт версию" Si или TypeR - что дорого и глупо. Премиальные бренды так и вовсе отказались от механической трансмиссии в своих массовых моделях. Это устаревшая технология, как дискеты, видеокассеты, механические ручки стеклоподъемников. Если ещё лет 15 назад у механики, в опытных руках, были свои плюсы в виде экономии пары капель топлива, или быстрого разгона - то сейчас современные автоматы одновременно и экономичнее (человек просто физически не в состоянии так быстро и точно переключать передачи), так и более динамичные в спорт режиме. Человек не в состоянии конкурировать с компьютером в скорости и точности алгоритмов.

У половины населеия забери интернет и окажется, что они вообще ни чего не умеют без него. Элементарно борщ сварить. Это все круто безусловно, но люди от этого все тупее и тупее.

very cool, I like it but parking like that ( with that much space) you probably wouldn't need it but maybe if a car is too close you could maybe just get the car to come out a bit so you can get in. Overall I like it

@@vimalramachandran it's good n all. But they should've tested it in a more tighter space. That would feel more impressive. This right now is quite standard in many cars. I was talking about parallel parking.
@@hjoseph3802 Tighter spaces will be more challenging for the system, so you should manually park under those circumstances. But give it time, eventually automated parking will improve. AI is coming up in a big way in smartphones etc., that will trickle down to automobiles as well.

Посмотрел бы я как он на моей парковке многоэтажки покрутится. Надо понять сколько он места оставляет. В любом случае можно внутри сидеть и просто перейти с автопилота на ручное управление и доехать как надо
@@vasilysh2795 у меня на шкоде тоже автоматическая парковка и я знаю, что человек с трудом припаркует там, где это сделает автомат. Человеку просто не видно будет, на сколько близко подъезжает машина в режиме паркпилота. Она ещё и тормозит сама. И это была на автомобилях ваг группы ещё в 2010 году, просто в урезанной версии, без смартфона, с обязательным присутствием человека за органами управления. По большому счету, у тех автомобильных марок, что имеют такую опцию, она сделана на компонентах одной фирмы Valeo ATW

Good idea to pay (high price) for something we don't really need.
The examples were really bad, but there are situations where this could be really useful, for example in very tight parking spots or with bad visibility.
by the way, it is aa great car. leaving the fact that VW is not worried anymore about speed, what we like in VW, it stills a great car, incredible inovations.
