Train So Heavy It Needs 75% Of The Locomotive Roster! Engines On Front & Rear Of Rock Train, CCET

Rock Train Eases Down Batavia Hill, Crosses Bridge Over Main Street & Passes Railroad Crossings En Route To Norfolk Southern Interchange. Cincinnati Eastern Railroad Train With Loads Of Rock, Railroad Ties, Boxcars, Covered Hopper Cars And Modified Flat Cars. Both Sides Of Train And Chase. This Train Is Passing Through Batavia And Milford, Ohio.
I was at home working on a video when my hand held radio started making some noise. I knew it was going to be a heavy westbound train so I headed to the railroad and started planning a strategy. I wanted to get a few railroad crossings, some new angles and both sides of the train. My first stop is Afton, Ohio just east of Batavia Township, Ohio. The train had just come from the east of the line at the quarry and stopped at Afton Yard to have the switcher, MP15DC, coupled to the rear for the trip down Batavia Hill and towards the Norfolk Southern interchange at Mariemont, Ohio. The train had passed through Mt Orab at noon without the switcher and passed Half Acre Road in Afton at 1pm with the switcher added to the rear. This train has 3 of the 4 operational CCET locomotives!
Next, I went to the bottom of the hill and caught the train passing the location where the Batavia train station used to be. The train is seen passing over Main Street on a bridge that still has Norfolk & Western Railway lettering. I sprayed Off on myself while I was here waiting on the train. I have already had close to ten ticks on me this year and I even had one stuck on me already.
Then I got ahead of the train and filmed it crossing Stonelick Olive Branch Road just west of Batavia. This is a location where I used to eat lunch and watch NS trains pass when I worked for the county. We see the abandoned defect detector here.
I drove down the roads by the railroad and showed some areas where I used to hang out when I was a little kid. Binning Road here is in terrible condition and very narrow at spots.
After that we see the train crossing Round Bottom Road in Milford right in front of Bzak Landscaping. This is another first time filming location and probably the last time due to how thick the vegetation is. We see the location where rock is unloaded from the main line and the final scene is the railroad crossing at Beechwood Road, Milford, Ohio which is just east of Newtown. The train only went a few more miles past here and shut down at a location called Ancor which is near the CCET office.
Don't miss the Live Action Pets and the special slide show that comes from the video!
Filmed Friday, May 10, 2024 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

Oh And that other train horn you heard While you were standing by the bridge that was on that pick up that passed you because you can buy train horns to go on pick ups and cars

  • Sanitarians are now called Environmental Health Inspectors here in California. I worked in a Public Health Lab and tested samples collected by our inspectors like water and food. Retired after nearly 34 years. A good job working with good people, decent pay, and good benefits. Now I can relax and watch JT train videos all day. Love those always clean CCET locomotives. They must be run by retired firemen because they're always clean and shiny.

    • Very interesting! I did nuisance complaints, sewage and water inspections and did water sampling. I collected the samples and took them to the lab. It was easy the first ten years but then regulations started getting really complicated. They finally started dividing us up into divisions and each division only did a few things. When I called it quits I was the only person who did stuff across the lines. I liked it. I kept my state license up to date until the virus hit. They stopped having classes in person and everything had to be done over the computer. Since I no longer got to see my comrades in person and had no plans of going back I just let my license expire.

That's why you are my recommended video journalist - you don't just drone on about train stuff - you mix it up with all kinds of interesting tidbits. Thank you! Your dogs are always a delight to see - Heidi seems to wait for them to appear. She doesn't growl or bark, but she likes to watch them play. Be safe - Stay well. I also enjoy your commentary. That trip along the tracks on the narrow paved road was delightful. Must bring back lots of fond memories or your childhood. That "tree tunnel" along the curve was a perfect shoot. I guess you guys got ticks in Ohio too, huh. Love the concern for your new radio and sharing good advice about not holding the radio by the antenna. I don't have one...but maybe one day. Thanks for shooting, Brian. You sound like a caring man. I went to the Memorial Day events at the National Cemetery on the grounds of the Dayton VA when I was there. To get to the tent they did the main event, I had to walk though a large cut grassy area. I picked up a dang tick in cut grass. That had never happened to me ever before that. I guess the ticks are really getting to be a big problem in Ohio now. • Just think back in the 90s the view from the Main Street bridge was much clearer without the trees, and you could see westbound trains crossing the little Miami and round the curve.

  • I've also read that the center rails on bridges helps with rigidity of the tracks as well. less chance of warping

  • Hi Jaw Tooth I like the new location with the bridge and the really narrow road. The way that road is slipping away it will not be too long till it affects the roadbed. Due you think they will every extend the road past Plum Run. The rock off loading should justify a siding with the amount of traffic as soon as the new plant gets up and running. Thanks for having a really wonderful channel... I enjoy your tales about you work for the oounty....Larry

    @larrythumper1559@larrythumper15599 күн бұрын
    • They have had some very serious road bed slides at that site for the railroad. They have a slow order there. There is still a possibility of trains making it to Rarden for car storage. I don't know if it will happen but there is a need for it. The railroad has a grant to install a rock unloading siding at the same place where they unload it now. It is badly needed and you are correct that when Purina comes on line they are really going to need it
