I am not even a fan of 1d anymore but it’s really sad and really clear how oblivious Louis is of their “break” here. He’s the only one who promises that they’ll be back and he went naively into his solo career not even sure if it was a solo career yet. He put his soul into that band and tried to make it the best for all of them musically and dynamically, only for everyone to already plan their own future career without telling him?? I am a solo Louis fan and he’s doing so good right now, but he deserves so much more love considering the huge amount he gives - and also forgives. Don’t call him a liar, especially not when he was the one being lied to!
Technically I guess you're right. I don't think any of them were liars, except Harry. I don't think Niall wanted it to end.
I honestly don’t think Niall had a clue either. Niall & Louie were both very upset when the band split. I remember Louie saying in an interview he & Niall cried a lot about it. 😢
Harry wasn’t lying. He didn’t promise anything. And it was the best decision, he is superstar now, the best of all

I feel like the only one who knew it really wouldn’t be just two years was Harry. He knew he’d be big on on his own I feel. If that’s true it’s sad he didn’t just let them know, especially Louis, so he could’ve move forward sooner.

@@marielaita1 I’m not talking about success, which btw I think Louis is doing pretty great doing what he wants to do. I’m talking about Harry possibly knowing he wasn’t planning on it being just a hiatus and not necessarily being upfront about it in case things didn’t work out solo for him. That’s all I’m saying. No hate to Harry, just an opinion and observation.
nahhh I don't think anyone of them could predict if their solo career will be successful, you never really know with those things. and harry's career really blew up during pandemic so it wasn't that obvious in the beginning. imo if anything held louis back is his personal tragedies more than anything else.
@@white_eskimo that’s what I mean though, like it was called a hiatus just in case the solo thing didn’t work out. But I truly believe Harry always wanted to be solo and do his own thing MORE than he wanted to be in the band even with their massive success. Not saying he doesn’t care for the boys and that experience but it’s clear from early days he wanted the sole spotlight (mean that in the nicest way). Louis definitely struggled to see himself as a solo artist and held on to the band getting back together, I think until after it became clear he was the only one left. I can’t say for sure whether he would’ve done solo stuff sooner had it been apparent that 1D weren’t just ‘taking a break’ but it was before his mom and sister passed that he started doing solo music, but only after it was clear everyone else were truly going their own ways. If that makes sense. Anyways, it is what it is yeah?
@@kayleewilkesmeza92 of course, the only thing that matters now is they seem to be happy in their solo careers, they have more control over the music they make and are successful in their own ways and i wouldn't want it any other way

At 3:26, If you notice, only Louis said “promise” and others kinda ignored. And then Niall started talking.🥺 And even at the end, when interviewer said “hopefully we will see you after 2 years” only Louis said “yes, you will.” and Louis was the only one who even tweeted “promise” He was the only one who really thought 1D would come back after 18 months, and that thing really kills me.
Lets be honest. If Harry had left, the band might not have fallen apart, but it wouldn't have been nearly as sucessful going forward.

Niall explaining how it wasn’t much of a difference recording after Zayn and I’m looking at Harry, Liam and Louis face showing the complete opposite is hilarious. People say if Harry left, the band wouldn’t have lasted but to be honest, Harry and Zayn made that band. That band was gone the day Zayn left. The record sales were good because of fan service. That album was good but nothing like the previous ones. It didn’t even have the same sound because Zayn voice was missing. That album was sad and completely about Zayn in my opinion. A few were about the fans (maybe). They were sad but Harry was a completely different person after Zayn left.
Their sales were going down since Midnight Memories, so the trend was there two albums before Zayn left and would only continue if he had stayed. Harry wanted to leave and suggested a hiatus in November 2014 which caused Zayn to leave first because that would give him a head start in his solo career (he spoke about it in his 2023 podcast). Harry comes off to me more bitter than sad about Zayn
@@hskingdommm2597 Harry is very mature and intelligent. There are bridges that you should not burn, it is important to be grateful and end things well. All of that is the basis of his success. Also, I think that the way Zayn left everything instead of helping him made his mental health much worse.
@@hskingdommm2597 I hope you’re not insinuating that Zayn voice didn’t make a difference in 1D music considering that he harmonized in most of their solo verses. Not only that, that last album was a total different sound and not in a good way. Those sales were fan service because they lost a band member. It shouldn’t have gotten as many sales as it did. The sales went down because of the music choice, not the voice. Why do you think Harry wanted to take a hiatus? Because of Zayn. Zayn and Harry became closer than ever those last two years. Both of them had music ready when they left. They planned to leave that band together but Zayn couldn’t wait any longer. Y’all completely forget how bad Zayn looked. Harry tried to take care of him but that wasn’t enough. When someone look like Zayn looked, the only way to leave is asap. Zayn said that he left because he wanted to be the first but that was not the only reason. He hated the music and he was miserable. Harry was too. Harry was sad and bitter. Don’t downplay it. They were best friends that clearly had a plan that did not work out. They literally separated themselves from the others the last year. You say bitter not sad but explain this. Harry never say negative things about people but he did when Zayn left. Zayn was just talking when he said he left to get a head start. Just like he did when he saying Harry and him didn’t talk. Bs, they were glued to the hip. That man was scared. Being a solo artist was new territory. Not counting how sick and depressed Zayn looked; can you imagine how bad it had to be for him to rather buy out of that last album instead of finishing it out. Bottom line, Harry and Zayn were done. The only difference is that Zayn and his mother feared for his health and called it quits.
@@sooojazzy Are you a zarrie? Nice fanfiction you wrote up there. Several inconsistencies with reality tho. 1 - Harry and Zayn weren’t that close and did not separate themselves from the rest. Zayn remained the closest to Louis until the very end. In 2014 two of them literally went on vacation without other boys. The had the van in which others were not allowed to hang out. In the meantime, Harry has been the closest to Niall and not that close with others in the band since 2013. The only time when Harry and Zayn were really a thing was in 2012 when there was a trio with Louis uniting them. Then Harry and Louis grew apart and that was it for his close friendship with Zayn. 2 - Your whole argument is built on "they weren’t telling the truth on these ten occasions they spoke about it, just look at them and you’ll see truth" which is just conspirological bs I’m not interested in digging. Just a reminder what was actually said by them: Z said he had no idea he had an eating disorder whilst in the band, he left because he wanted to pursue solo career, didn’t like what 1d was making or what it represented. He also did not maintain any relationship with Harry after the band and considers Niall his favorite. Harry said he had no idea about Zayn’s eating disorder, didn’t know Zayn disliked the band, and that he thinks his departure was unprofessional. I don’t really care about Zayn or his voice btw. Harry did just great replacing him on most of the bridges and it was good to see Louis and Niall having more solos.
@@sooojazzyI don't understand you who call yourself fans. It's cleary in Harry's interview with Mr. Lowe. He was unsure his future with the band and he was so upset Z left the band while touring. He said loud n clear why Z had problems and not talk to them. As I knew the contract's nearly end and the boys didn't talk cleary so he decided to leave. Stop nonsence comments. Find it in YT.

@@AS-yz2iz it may have been 1 year, but 2 years and then the solo careers took off further. Now, it's not impossible but highly unlikely for them to reform. I hope they do though

I really hope that any boyband to never ever form again! Its just fucking brutal for the members of a Band and its extremely die heart fanbase! Why not stick to the Band and not venture of. What is the need when there are thousands of Solo Artists in this world any way! Why leave something that created you and gave you fame? Such a shame that they used One Direction and their Fan Base for 5 Years and left it all behind without any permanent announcement! The could have changed rhe legacy for Boy Bands by sticking to it together through thick and thin. Basically they proved all the media right who used to ask them in the start that they might stay together for less than 5 Years. Its a shame that yet again another group, it's music and its fanbase died in the dust. They would be coming back in 20 Years, old and lost, without any charm left as the fan base would be so tired and probably forgotten them . Lets pray that never eve any boy bands are formed!
