If his French and English are called ''speaking a language'' most people can probably learn a new language everyday and end the year with 365 languages. From what I've seen, I think he can at least use English and French in an everyday conversation. And at the end of the day, that's all you need to be fluent in a language anyway. Being able to hold a conversation with a native/local speaker.

Followed his career for a while. No surprise he can speak four languages, in fact he can speak five, as he is able to converse in Catalan too. He just needs to step down to a club without so many huge international names to get regular first team football. He should join B Dortmund or Arsenal, clubs which give youngsters a chance. Then his football will hopefully do all the talking!
He is playing at Leipzig now and doing VERY well, starting already in the first 11 against Bayern yesterday. He promised the German journalists he would do interviews in German from January onwards….so soon a sixth language he is able to converse in. He seems a very DEDICATED kid who takes his profession extremely serious. 20 years old only and last year at PSV he had his own personal fitness coach, dietist etc. Which goes to show how serious he is about his football career. Only thing is he shouldn’t waist time in the French league after Leipzig….it would be a loss for him. He should go England then or Spain.

What do you understand under ''speaking a language'' I've heard people say that they speak french, since they had it in school for a few years. But they can't finish a proper sentence. To be honest Xavi's english and French is pretty bad. He only speaks Spanish and Dutch properly.
