Thank you! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for your list!! It looks fantastic... it must have taken such a long time to do this - thanks again 😊😊😊🎉
Thank you! ❤
Good job! And I just mentioned - to go with pencil cases - make up bags.
I love buying postcards from other artists because I basically treat them like affordable mini prints. This is especially nice at a festival where I can't afford to buy larger prints but want something from the artists I like. Postcard "mini prints" also allow me to hang more art on my walls without running out of space.
Love post card size art🎉 I put them around my mirror.
I've thought about making a digital "Artist Calendar" that artists can use to plan submissions to upcoming shows, application deadlines, merch drops or track progress on a current project. I think having stickers with labels or little icons as visual reminders would be cute and useful if people want to print it out.
tbh sounds like a pretty solid idea! i like it!
I like it too!
I love this idea!!
I love this idea and would totally use something like that!
Pls make something like that!
I’d also love to see some cool cases for glasses or those cleaning cloths for glasses. Usually they’re so bland and uninspiring. Also a pretty laundry bag would be nice. Suitcase tags. Lunchboxes. Colourful window stickers.
As an artist I’m taking notes lol I agree though only ever had black rags for cleaning my glasses same w cases too, time for some more pizazz
I just had an idea while watching this video - HAND PAINTED RUBIK'S CUBES! You could paint a picture or illustration in any style for each of the faces by keeping them monochrome for each face. I think it would look so cool and I can't wait to try it myself when I have the time!
I’ve been dealing with my problems for 30 years and now I’m surrounded by good people who are encouraging me to make myself known by sharing art and selling things. The last thing that held me back was that I had no idea what to do after the “make art” part and I am so thankful that you exist to share these advice with newbies like me ❤❤❤
Gotta love a creator who passes on knowledge. You get a sub for that alone. I figured prints and designs on things is the best way to go. Ppl love cute little things or cool mugs etc
I personally am starting to sell scans of my sketchbook when I release sketchbook tour videos!! That would be something I would recommend people to try, so that way those who want to see everything up close can!! ^^ I also charge a pay what you want option with a minimum of $5, so if someone wants to pay more they definitely can! Just something to look into!
I love art print silk scarves. They are usually way cheaper than something high-end like a Gucci scarf but way more unique and still luxurious. I wish more artists did these. I use them for hair scarves and it makes me feel like a queen. FYI, matte or low sheen silk looks more chic than satin which can look fake/cheap.
Another idea is deck boxes! Magic (the gathering) cards are usually double-sleeved and taken extremely well care of, so people will spend a ton of money on deck boxes to either protect the cards (as a baseline) or to match the deck's theme. A lot on Etsy are 3D-printed that I've seen but I've also seen people do deckboxes sculpted like a hobbit house, a mushroom, or even painted with designs on top (or with details glued on boxes). Just another suggestion!
Add to that card sleeves. You could even bundle deck boxes with matching sleeves.
I've just had an idea and had to come to youtube specifically to drop it into the world. Hot water bottle bags. There are so many hot water bottles covers that collect bits and are not easily removed for cleaning. A soft drawstring bag could save so much time. I need this.
I'm a writer and I find zines to be the absolute perfect product! I'm working on my first one, it's actually gonna come out in a few days. I like to print them at home and I do all the shipping and packaging myself because that allows me for maximum freedom (compared to amazon KDP for example, which doesn't allow images from the internet... i wanna put memes in my zines damnit!). For my fellow artists who are learning how to draw I think this would be a great ideas, I love zines and I want to see more of them!
oooh yes i don’t know how i forgot about zines, they’re great!
I'm so glad your video popped up in my recommended! I've been wanting to open a shop for a bit, but had no idea what to do with my art other than prints and stickers. These are all such creative ideas I would have never thought of, thanks so much for sharing!
Especially if your target demographic is younger ppl (say, college students,) I can't overstate the usefulness of postcard-sized prints. I was selling postcard size prints for pretty cheap recently at a charity art sale we held at my college, and I was one of the biggest sellers because of those small prints. For people with not a lot of disposable income, smaller prints can be a great way to buy art affordably.
This is the energy I needed this morning. Ty as always, Kelsey!!
This is a really good list to find. I know this is a prompt for me to start looking into a few of the options that interest me, though I feel a lot of fear with not knowing how to do much of any of these without print on demand except for the ones said to go to thrift stores or make a mold with silicone or resin. So hopefully I'll find something to teach me some more of this in this week
I like to use rocks as garden markers. I paint and label them with acrylic paint and then nestle them at the base of my plants. It's a fun way to add little pops of complementary color to your garden.
I do that too!
Just what I needed, this came out right as I'm preparing for my 2nd ever art market😊
Another great video. I’m stoked to learn about the opportunities with the sponsor of this video as well. That looks to be an awesome company! By the way, I appreciate that you tend to partner with companies whose vision for for they operate and what they offer is almost always somewhat relevant to my own goals (such as transitioning to natural fibers for my wardrobe and household linens). Cheers, Kelsey!
"I dog-ear the pages-" Shun the non-bookmarker! SHUUUUNNN!!!!
I'm so amazed at artists who are also business - minded ❤. The only cashflow I have for my art is out of my wallet - buying art materials 😂
My first time seeing u but I'm telling you I'm so proud of you 💗. You are now my icon girlie!!
I'm a person who has in the previous years made a shop selling my art in the form of stickers. This helped me a lot to make more products than stickers.
Loved to see more multimedia ideas. I crochet so I try to convert your advice to work for me but it's hard sometimes.
Thank you so much for creating and sharing your insightful video on business side of being an artist and avoiding the struggles of financial strain. Your valuable tips and guidance are sincerely appreciated. Wishing you a truly wonderful day ahead.
I had the idea the other day of offering printed cloth book covers or book bags. I don't know about anyone else, but paperback books don't survive long riding around in my bag. I've had to replace borrowed books a couple of times bcs my bag just shreds them. A nice cloth bag with a flap closure and maybe a bit of velcro would be great for that.
This is a great idea!!!
Bringing back memories...As kids we use to cover are school books in fabric
I make and sell dice on Etsy and I would warn everyone there is a long learning curve for making quality handmade dice but it’s very rewarding. Though not super viable financially
This is super helpful video. I really loved all the 46 ideas. Especially the socks and playing cards pack! Would love more of the ideas! ❤
Omg I always wanted one of these videos. I'm gonna watch it now. Thankyou Kelsey ♡
there really are so many items as an artist that you could design and make your own ❤❤
Hello Kelsey and everyone! :) I'm a new watcher of your channel and actually a UX/UI designer, not an illustrator or artist (even though I like to doodle things here and there and want to learn art more). Your content popped-up at the right time as I'm considering to offer some digital products next year haha Actually, quite a lot of your product ideas align even with web design, especially those in your previous video with 25+ digital product list :)) Thank you very much for sharing your ideas and wishing you all the best! ❤❤❤
Yay! Just what I needed this morning ❤ Thank you Kelseyyyyyyy
thanks for posting this! your material makes me hopeful for my future.. like i can actually earn money from my work someday. keep these flowing and i will be here to soak it up like a sponge
✨Thank you so much for this video! My brain pumping with creativity spins on some of these ideas✨
Hi Kelsey! Happened upon this video and am a new artist. I’m thinking about selling my art if I think it’s good enough. I used to do drawings in my teen years but stopped because I was busy working and raising a family. Now that I’m retired, I have picked up drawing and painting again. I love it! It’s so relaxing! Anyhow, love your ideas and decided to subscribe to your channel. I look forward to seeing more of your videos and artwork in the future!
I'm always so excited to see a fellow artist on KZhead who is authentic and who seems genuinely lovely! One day when I have more art projects on my channel - I'd love to collaborate with you on something cute. So glad I found your channel.
What a wonderful video!! I'd really love to see how some of my work would look on those lovely blankets. Thank you, and I love what you said about wanting everything made by artists. I agree!
aren’t they so gorgeous?? thank you so much for watching, I’m glad you liked this one! 💗
Amazing ideas. Love the idea of colourful socks too.
These ideas are great Kelsey! Some of them didn’t even cross my mind

This is excellent !! Thank you Kelsey!
Really random but this is getting me excited for when I start art/design school in two months!!!!!!!!!!
Ooo!! I’m planing on doing a December art faire and these are perfect!
Hey, those are some nice ideas. I'm already thinking about how i am going to turn them into something really cool to sell. I specially like the idea of postcards and calendars. I saw a calendar made by an artist i like just one of these days and it was the cutest thing ever.
Sending beautiful birthday and holiday cards from independent artists/designers is one of the nice things in life. It can be a nice experience for both giver and receiver. Just saying as a consumer.
Cool list, in addition to POD providers an artist can make a whole store from just their work after just a couple years.
First time I see one of your videos and I love it! Thank you 🙏💖🥰
Giclée prints are a must for artists. The colors are night and day and is so well replicated to the original artwork (with a good scanned image) and it looks more premium than a standard print. Like she said, hand embellishing is an option, but you can also sign your print for a nice personal touch. If that’s too much work for you, just add a digital signature so it can be printed on paper. Nonetheless, I highly recommend getting high resolution scans of your artwork before considering any reproductions. If the digital file isn’t high quality in the first place, you shouldn’t expect your prints to look great.
What file size and resolution would you consider a good quality scan?
@@sofiaspeakman8086 the file size can vary depending on the image size, but typically 300dpi is the image resolution you should aim for. 250 dpi minimum. As long as the image is 300dpi at the desired print size, the details will be crisp
@@genkeasy thank you!
loved this! Wonderful video FULL of amazing ideas
Those are so many good ideas! Thank you for video
okay also YOUR SKIN IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND GLOWING - Like I cant get over the goddess atmosphere
aww thank you!! if you're looking for skincare recs I highly recommend the oat moisturizer and barrier repair cream from krave!
Those are really great ideas for starting art merch! Altough you can also sell custom pajamas and cap, I have found amazing artists who have made these merch and they look really amazing As they would be use for comfort and fashionable stuff
amazing video!❤ Thank you so much!
Great ideas here. I especially love the Fiber Art website. I'm planning to seriously look into them, thank you!
I think postcard prints is a really good idea and they're also pretty inexpensive to ship :)
This was such a great video--thank you so much!
Loved this😊 Thanks so much❤
Thanks a lot for sharing these ideas!
I'm a sculptor and usually see so many product ideas for 2D artists. Today I was able to envision some of these products working for me! Would love ideas geared specifically for sculptors as well!
Same here.
Socks not sounding like a real word after saying it so much is relatable af lol
Great video! It's worth listening to it. Thank you
i’ve been watching you for a while and i didn’t know you were from alabama! i am too!! so cool to see you becoming more successful, i hope i can achieve everything you have one day!
I went to high school there and have lots of family there! I really struggle to confidently say I am "from" somewhere just bc I moved around quite a bit, but yeah! I have a lot of friends still in AL and try to visit every so often, lots of great people there
Just saw this video and I guess I’m always shocked when I see Mothman references outside of my home state of West Virginia. I ABSOLUTELY love it!!! Have you ever been to the Mothman Museum? Anyway, love your videos and feel motivated after watching them. It’s just that implementation phase 😂 If you make that trip to WV to the Mothman Museum, would love to meet up for coffee. Nope, not weird. We are just THAT friendly in this beautiful mountain state. Keep up the great work my friend! ❤
Congratulations Kelsey on 200k!!!
thank youuuuu 💗💗
Japan has a huge sock market.. very popular. Thank you for your great work kelsey..ypu are my go to for art marketing advice

OVEN MITTS & POT HOLDERS 🥳 MATCHING Apron too!
Thanks, this was super helpful!!
I enjoyed this video and will probably figure some things out of this but I need to add my 2 cents as a self employed artist myself after 10+ years being active. MOST of the things you mentionned I tried and it didn't work. I didn't sold much or nothing, they have CRAZY first costs if you want quality and none of those products will ever make a sustainable income if you A/Don't have the following B/Don't have the right design for it or your audience doesn't like those products and C/Don't have engagement because all the algorythms are blocking your posts Yes I'm bitter and I'm talking about personnal experience, I tried to improve, upgrade, develop my offer as an artist but a lot of my attempts didn't work and over the last months my engagement just went lower and lower and nobody sees my content. A great product is NOTHING if nobody sees it or wants it or if the art isn't good enough or popular enough or fitting with trends. Most of the suggested items are very pricey to produce and hard to stock if you have multiple designs. I feel like digital content might be slightly better and easier to implement but I'm just not on board trying new physical products that will eventually never be seen or bought. I like creating, I'm making new artworks with the intention to seel an artbook and originals but I don't have much more to invest in terms of actual products costs, it's rather impossible atm. How you would do things ? if you have any tips for me ? thanks
This video is very informative Thank you very much for sharing this !
My idea for custom art stickers is to make my own paint by sticker designs where all the stickers are numbered and correlate with their proper spot on the page and they all form together one original art piece or photo of my choice. I also wanted to figure out how to design, print, and add jewels to stickers that have a sticky layer on the front to stick tiny jewels and reflective shapes in a lovely pattern. Both ideas are not original, besides making them custom into my own designs, and I wanted to make them really easy, fun, and relaxing to assemble because some of the sticker mosaics and jeweled sticker designs can be a bit stressful and less relaxing during assembly depending on how they are set up to be put together.
Please note that if you create epoxy/resin items, please use the proper safety equipment in a well ventilated area! Your health is at risk there.
I flushed when I saw my sticker 🥹 Also thank you so much for your content Kelsey! I love every video!!❤
Taking notes!!✏️
Adding - tarot decks may be more ambitious esp cuz they require specific symbolism or obvious visuals to determine the card they are however for those of us more free flowing with our art and intuitive expression - oracle cards differ from tarot in the way that they do NOT require a specific structural set up - make what you want, as many as you want, find your interpretation to them and your guidebook maybe a some spread suggestions then you have your deck and book to release
Thinking about making a fill in cookbook
Awesome Ideas 💜
Hi Kelsey, I just came across your content, and it's amazing... Thanks
I've always put labels on my plants but they would get destroyed. That's for the great idea!
I hope that bird is ok 🥺 thanks for all the great ideas
thank you so much for your ideas and advice! Hope you're doing great, You're awesome! God Bless!
I don't think you mentioned makeup cases but I thought of those when you mentioned pencil cases. (Oh, and brooch doesn't have an "a" in it - unless you are broaching the subject of brooches. 🙂) Good job as usual, Kelsey! You answered a question I had in bed last night - does anybody send postcards any more? Can you buy them? I love the idea of postcard size art - inexpensive to collect the art of artists you love.
I’ve got my own ttrpg coming out very soon based on my three books of my world of Strangehollow 😊
