Hey everyone! Today's video is a hooded eyes do's & don'ts! Just a little disclaimer... This video is not putting people down if they do these things!! It's just a video on how to enhance your hooded eyes! If you do love creating winged liner looks, go for it!! If you love the eyeliner, go for it!! These are just some tips/techniques that I learned for my eye shape. We are all different from one another, so just go with what you think is right & suits your eye shape the best!! I'm so bad at explaining things, so hopefully I explained everything okay! Thanks for watching :) xx
☆ O T H E R T I P S ☆
Watching this video back I thought of some other tips, so I'll list them below!
→ You can apply a nude or white eyeliner on the lower waterline, just help the appearance of the eyes become more open and awake.
→ Apply a inner corner highlight to make the attention drawn to the inner part of the eye!
→ If you do want to create a winged liner try and create a thiner line near the lash line and then start creating a thicker line on the outer part of the eye. This will help to show your lid space more, than as you see in the video the liner took up most of my lid, so we couldn't see it! When you're creating the wing on the outer part of the eye make sure to not take it into the hood and crease also, as this is what gives it the funny looking appearance! It's quite hard to explain!
If you have any other tips that I missed out, be sure to list them below in the comments!

    • @@krism4763 I don’t think that’s what she meant. I’m pretty sure by ‘bad eye’ she meant she was going to do everything wrong on that eye and everything right on the ‘good eye’. The good v bad referred to the techniques used on each eye.

    • Thanks for the feedback! A lot of people have been saying that one eye is more bigger than the other, when I look back I definitely notice it a lot more :\ I will use the left eye now in dos! :) But if I were to do the left eye more better I would do exactly the same as I did on the right eye! If you want you can look at my other tutorials where I do a look that has both eyes the same :) I will do a updated one too in the future as this one was quite a while ago & I have learnt more about my eye shape! xx

      @primordialdoll@primordialdoll7 жыл бұрын

  • I have hooded and down-turned eyes, and I've found that winged liner is possible if you keep it thin along the lash-line and only get (slightly) thicker on the outer half of the eye. The wing itself can't end up being too large either, or it will take up too much of the mobile lid. However, in order for it to not enhance my down-turnedness, I have to take the wing itself over the hood which looks fine from the front but odd from the side usually. It doesn't bother me, so I usually do it anyway. Hope this helps someone!

    • I have the same experience as well. The line will not look as weird when lined against the eye shape but care should be taken to not extend the line down too much. I haven't quite figured out how to do the wing with depth and whether to wing above or below the outer v of the eye.

    • Cindy Nguyen draw the liner on your lashline like normal. except when you get to the outer corner, draw the line straight out and dont extend past where your eyebrows end (thats for any eye shape). then follow your lower lashline upwards to connect the line you just made and fill in any gaps. thats the foolproof method for winged liner on hooded or monolid eyes

  • Thanks for the advice! To all my girls whose eyes are also closer to each other- I do not apply any dark shades past the middle of the eye because it makes them look even closer to each other. I just take the smokey eye 2 sided pen and apply a tiny bit on the upper and lower lids in the outer corner and (like 5mm maybe) make the lines "smokey" with the eye pen brush side -thus drawing more attention to the outer corners and making eyes look longer and farther from each other- plus the eye shade technique in this video for the outer corner will look great I think 👍

    • The don't side is too heavy for daytime, all we see is dark everywhere. We can't focus on the overall prettiness of skilled blending, flattering believable color, and the use of proper amounts of product.

    • Melanie Brett (The up-loader)---)FIRST of all, Hooded eyes are BEAUTIFUL ! They look Happy and Innocent and makes you look YOUNGER instead of the Deapset Eyes which sometimes make you look Sad, mean and older depends what kind of eye shape. So STOP making such Videos or START making videos to make Deepset eyes look "correct" or innocent, Younger and beautiful. NOW, SECONDLY, You picked the Wrong eye which is your ALREADY smaller eye with shorter lid/your right eye/for us your LEFT one. The WRONG things you taught are to "create a Fake lid. NOPE you can apply Dark shadow on the WHOLE lid, from bottom lid to crease to even beyond crease just leaving a little space for the highlighter. And then you can apply THICK and DARK shadow on the Lower lid for Sure ! You can apply an extended liner/cat eye but depending on the shape of your eye. And ppl who dont wanna wear fake lashes can curl their natural lashes before and after applying mascara. And pls make sure you pay more attention to mascara, it really opens up the eyes. THE ONLY right things you told to not apply THICK liner on upper lid and dont Extend eyebrow.

    • Some of us have VERY hooded eyes (to the point where the crease extends below the outer corner of the eye). In that case, winged liner is either a no go or has to be drastically adjusted and will never look like the typical cat eye when the eye is closed. We get what’s called “the bat wing” to compensate and keep it from disappearing with an open eye. That’s why we smoke it up! 😄
