I know this game gets a lot of flack for not living up to its predecessors, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t just as fun. Sure, the absence of variants is a punch in the gut, but it still holds up. This game had so much potential. It kills me to think it stopped receiving support not even a year after release. And now the entire franchise sits in limbo. Such a shame.

the game itself is really good. it’s just too damn hard to not compare it to the perfection of GW2.
If I'm correct, they made this game because they said a game like GW2 would be too difficult to update over a long period of time, so they wanted to make something more simple. And yet this "more simple" game had tons of amazing quality of life changes. Sprinting, speedchat, and not to mention the god tier upgrades for each individual character. This game just got hated on for not having variants

This game was and still is a great thing! Even though they removed variants, I think it’s still a very good thing for the new players still joining as they won’t be getting one punched by some random toxic brains. However it’s annoying how they’ve stopped doing updates, if they were just to return to this game and this channel, it could have so much potential! I have a friend who started a week ago and he doesn’t hate the game but he doesn’t like it either because of how he started with nothing, but he liked bfn.

Thank you EA! GW and GW2 was peak satisfaction for PvZ tps gameplay. It had nice progression and you wouldn't get stuck without unlocking anything. But now there are no different characters, just different skins. From almost 100 characters to 20.

Man I always loved the idea of plants vs zombies.Both of them growing from the ground
But zombies don't grow back in the beginning: they rise from graveyards. Zomboss the high iq zombie has an idea to create something like a bio creator. When pooren in the ground, they simply rise. Anywhere when there's dirt. Same as plants from the beginning, Dave planted them on the ground in the very early days to defend himself from the zombies.

Honestly, this game isn’t bad. I feel like everyone over reacted about it trying to be different from the other games. Yes, it was very strange from the PvZ GW series, but that doesn’t essentially mean it’s bad.
If the game was more received well, we could of actually had something. But we fucked it up and now the PvZ console franchise is discontinued.
What part of the game isn’t that bad? The 30,000 coin cost of 1 cosmetic? The item shop in a paid game? Removal of variants? The lack of balancing?

Eat Pant • 52 years ago I think this game’s in a pretty good state without variants. Cuz think about it, everyone here has a completely new model, so they’d have to make the same variant for the new models, along with adding more variants for the original classes.. and new variants for the new classes. Could be more then 150 variants to balance, not to mention that’s probably what they’d be spending a lot of their time doing.

It's sad how fast this game died, I love this game and this trailer, of course garden warfare 2 is superior, but bfn is still very cool and fun, the movement, the characters, everything is very beautiful in this game, I love it .
I agree. There were elements in this game that made it interesting but I wish the game lasted longer. Really would’ve liked to see the new characters they could’ve created/were planned.
Watching these old trailers makes me remember watching them as a kid and re watching them even though I have the game.
Battle for Neighborville had some good ideas. I liked that the npc plants and zombies had a shooter variant and I also liked the new playable plants and zombies. I thought they had some fun and unique themes, and I thought it was cool that they added classes that can combine with other players of the same class. I'm not entirely sure why it failed. I think it was for many reasons such as bad marketing, lack of playtesting, and low budget. It's a shame they gave up on it so soon, I actually liked it. I think they could've tried harder to be better. Hopefully in the future they'll come up with another Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare game or something like that.
Coming back here is sad, this game had so much potential and I wish they still supported it

But I’m here to tell you it isn’t too late!!! You can SAVE the PVZ shooter franchise! Get Pop Cap to pitch towards EA an idea to make ONE more game and call it GW3! Make it a real launch this time though and give us time to prepare! Bring back variants and get EA to reopen the Vancouver studio, OR make a new studio somewhere else with a new or current team and make one final game that you stick with and grind making content for! Players are asking for a GW3 all the time in the comments! Battle For Neighborville didn’t count due to its short, one year lifespan. But players on KZhead and Twitch and Twitter and other social media platforms all love the franchise and games, and we aren’t giving up on you! I will never give up on you guys and I know that if you believe in coming back, you can achieve anything! If EA tells you they won’t partner with you, break off with them and get a new team to publisher to release your game! If Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville decided to have a Netflix animated series adaptation based on the comic book series by Paul Tobin, this would be its theme song.
