"glorified pacifier" thank you I'm going to start calling it that. I grew up around nicotine abusers my entire life and when I was younger I tried a cigarette because my whole family did it and everyone else I looked up to and no matter how many times I asked them to stop they didn't I didn't understand and I wanted to. I tried it and I was repulsed, I could never bring myself to drink alcohol or smoke cigs/vape after that. Edit: since I came off as aggressive I'd just like to point out I'm just sharing my experience. I understand why people get addicted to things but I don't understand what it's like to be addicted.

My mom was a heavy smoker for a good portion of her life. She started at 9 years of age and it was due to peer pressure from family members that also smoked. She didn't quit until after it almost killed her or could have easily left her a vegetable. She quit when she realized how it affected her children to see her go through that. She quit cold turkey and hasn't smoked a cigarette since. I'm proud of my mom for it. Honestly the best way to stop vaping is to read/watch videos about how it negatively affects your body. Constant reminders of that can put you off it for the moment. And when you crave one, literally not having one nearby is the simplest solution. I once craved it so badly, I looked around the entire house to see if we had any left after getting rid of them, and when I didn’t find any, I just let the feeling pass and forgot it about an hour later.
@Fay3- Жыл бұрын
It still has to be a personal decision to quit, the exposure to information doesn't matter. There's better ways, but there's no "best way". I personally love nicotine and will never quit despite being well educated on the harmful effrcts, I just have the personal preference of enjoying certain things in life (its more complicated than that) and am satisfied with my decision, but that doesn't apply to other people, nor should it.

The "Glorified pacifier" is actually really accurate. My sister has a degree in early childhood development and used to work as a Nanny. @@bluntsntherain1766 You're ignorant and the reason us potheads get a bad reputation. You can be addicted to weed, but weed itself isn't addictive. Based on your name and comment, I'm going to assume you smoke every day. Try quitting for a week, you won't have "withdrawals" like physically addictive drugs will give you but you still will be craving weed every second of the day. You'll also probably have trouble sleeping and get headaches from it as well. Even if you wanna believe weed is the most amazing thing on this earth and could never hurt anybody, it can be addictive.

@Daily_Meat_Dealer Жыл бұрын
Surprisingly, nope. Every study released, over the passed 18 years, showed that the % of teens who vape is shockingly low (10%, +/-). One main reason being the anti-vaping, extreme health risk propaganda ads & campaigns...which resulted in a massive increase of cigarette smoking teams (cuz Vapes aren't "cool", ya know; so SMOKE 1000s of DEADLY chemicals & Carbon Monoxide ; that'll show 'em 👌... Teen smoking rates then increased dramatically, when flavor bans etc. started...which is now happening AGAIN, in states like California, etc.👍 It's unfortunate people don't do research (a few seconds on a cell-phone)😟 Word of mouth social media, etc. is modern-day fact; esp. to newer generations😞
@missed_or_free2248 Жыл бұрын
@@missed_or_free2248 yeah I feel like that stat isn’t accurate though because most kids wouldn’t admit to vaping since it is illegal and most of them don’t have permission from their parents and they aren’t able to purchase their own. Almost every kid I know either vapes or has vaped in the past. I would guess that the number is more in the 20 - 30% of teens in America vape or have vaped
@Daily_Meat_Dealer Жыл бұрын
That's exactly the problem with vapes. They were supposed to be an alternstive for people who were trying to quit cigarettes but with all the candy-like flavors and the social cache that comes from having a vape, tons of teens are now addicted to nictoine who otherwise might not have ever started smoking.
@LadyxBleu Жыл бұрын
I appreciate u using that word- "might". I can't comment on the "social cache" of teens (as I am NOT one). I will say IMO, if one was to try either vaping or smoking; vaping is the better option...of course, NEITHER is best. Smoking tobacco is TERRIBLE (most e-liquid nicotine is derived from bananas, etc.; NOT tobacco), but many adults became addicted to it. They feel horrible (physically), most can't afford it, & all know it will likely kill them. They want to quit, & before vaping, basically all that tried, simply couldn't. There's one reason lifelong smokers, who switched to vaping, couldn't go back if they wanted...the FLAVORS. That's the honest truth. Those flavors are what it takes to break the strongest addiction mankind has known.

A more efficient way of quitting isn’t to stop all at once, just do it less commonly every few days until your body gets to the point where it realizes it doesn’t need it. Completely stopping out of nowhere will make it even harder on you, as your body will fight back and keep telling you it needs the nicotine.

My number one advice is: quit when you're sick. Like actually have a fever. You'll already be feeling like shit and lazying in bed all day, so the extra feeling like shit from nicotine withdrawal won't feel as bad
Pro tip, if you don't start, you don't have to quit
I saw a post where this dude who wanted to quit laid out a list of coping mechanisms every time he wanted to smoke like go for a walk do jumping jacks read. Shit like that and he said he also kept a timeline of his anxiety and said it helped him focus on how much the nicotine was affecting his mental health. I hope one of those things can help someone 😊
I’ve been struggling with emotional eating at the moment, I will try some of these strategies❤

Until that date, try to slowly cut it out. or at least dont smoke more just because itll be your last time. it could help quitting be the tiniest bit easier. you got this 💪
I'm nicotine free. You can do this, it was hard but once you get to that peak where the withdrawal isn't too bad it's all downhill from there. The biggest thing after that is continuing to deny it when someone else offers and controlling yourself when you think you want to. I've been nic free for 4 months and I still get a random craving every once and a while, it's normal. You can do it I'm routing for everyone here. 🤍🤍🤍🤍
I’m very thankful and fortunate that my parents nailed it in my head that drugs are bad from a young age. All I can say is that I hope you stay strong and get to the point of a better quality of life/health ❤
hope its going well!! you can do it
You're doing amazing!! Proud of you for starting!!
What really helps is setting up little goals for yourself; you’re not going to smoke for say 3 days. If you make it, you give yourself a reward, like getting something good to eat or a fun activity. When you don’t make it, you won’t get anything. You got this girl!

For me it all boiled down to “do I wanna be labeled as a smoker?” And I always thought of that when I get the urges to start smoking again. Hitting the gym hard, drinking a bunch of water, reducing caffeine intake, and finding distractions when the urges get bad are what helped me stay off of it this long. If I can do it, everyone can do it. Trust me your quality of life will improve so much. I have way more friends, look a lot better, I’m much more productive, and I’m overall very happy with my life once I quit.

It's easier to quit an addiction by start a new one like chewing bubblegum.
if it helps you, when you feel the urge to use it chew gum, i don’t know why it works but it does
I can’t say if this works for vaping, but it does work for nail biting sooo?
Girl I know how hard it is to quit. I’ve been off of anything nicotine for almost 4 years now. I quit cold turkey when I found out I was pregnant with my first child. That was the thing that pushed me to quit.

yas
She's not wrong though
i love this. honestly, people need to know that you CAN quit. ik a lot of people that struggle with it and how to stop. this is so helpful to ithers
this is one of my favorite videos you have ever made💛
Honestly the best way to stop vaping is to read/watch videos about how it negatively affects your body.
@@instakillgaming of course it has to be a personal decision, this is just what helped me.
@@Fay3- gotcha 👍
Hell yeah
The "Glorified pacifier" is actually really accurate. My sister has a degree in early childhood development and used to work as a Nanny. She told me how it's actually really damaging to discourage children from teething behavior as they get older as it's our natural soothing mechanism. If we don't have a soothing mechanism when we are an adult we are predisposed to more harmful ones like drinking and smoking
for ppl who have never vaped..don’t do it. my old “friend” asked if i wanted to try and i said yes not knowing it would turn out bad and it’s 2 years later and i still have trouble with it..
How old were you when they asked? (I don’t mean this to be personal or anything) cause my sister was the age of 11 when she did it and I caught her in the act. She tells me she can’t stop cause it’s addicting but she tries her best even at the worst times, I have been trying to encourage her to stop doing it ever since but all the stuff going on in my family makes her worst. So if you have any ideas to help please tell me, I don’t want her to get hurt or anything 😢
@@yourzombiefriend1459 i was 13..i’m 15 now and i still at times do it but i’ve stopped for the most part and for me..thinking of how my parents would react and i’ve gotten closer to God so it’s helped a lot

I believe in you! My mother had been smoking for a while and she stopped last year and she said it was the best decision she had made, I hope you can do this
Having a drug addiction before 21 is insane. Weed, Alcohol, and Nicotine are all common these days and aren't good for mental development especially if you're hooked on them before your brain finishes growing. The way media markets these things as cool or desirable is just annoying and wrong. Good on her for trying to get away
Im a guinea pig and seeing the longterm affect it has on me, i have severe adhd and ive found it has caused me to be constantly tired, low sex drive, more anxious and depressed. Now im trying to quit but its so hard so i suffer in silence lmao
She’s almost the nicotine using age and is now trying to quit😭
i know they aren’t the same but a few months ago i really started getting addicted to weed cartridges. i got high everyday and couldn’t go one day with hitting a cart. i decided that i was tired of just trying to escape from reality and it was time for me to get back to who i really am. today is my 5th day sober after relapsing again recently but we are getting through it one day at a time!!
you cant get addicted to weed dont even compare smoking weed to addiction you got no idea what real addiction is kid
@@bluntsntherain1766not true bro anyone can get addicted to anything it’s habitual, and with carts they’re high in TCH only so that’s why you get so smacked off 1 rip but believe what u want homie 🙏

@@bluntsntherain1766 it doesn’t have addicting properties no, but u can get addicted to absolutely anything. If it gives u dopamine you can get addicted to how it makes you feel.
My ex got me into the habit of vaping After we broke up i avoided gas stations for months to stop vaping and the craving, it was super hard but every bad habit had to die along with the relationship Now I’m working on alcohol, it’s sad when i think about the person i became versus the motivated young adult i once was entering uni Oh well guess I’ll just keep trying day by day to re invent myself Thanks for stopping by my Ted talk 😂

After 4 days of quitting from 5 years of constant use I didn’t feel any withdrawals, it’s much easier and quicker than you think
Yes I relate to that ALOT especially when you accidently step on the books and your parents see it 😭
I’m willing to bet that there’s more teenagers vaping than actual adults
That's exactly the problem with vapes. They were supposed to be an alternstive for people who were trying to quit cigarettes but with all the candy-like flavors and the social cache that comes from having a vape, tons of teens are now addicted to nictoine who otherwise might not have ever started smoking.
My friend also did that. She quit vaping and smoking. Honestly for all the people who are making an effort I’m proud of you. Cause someone close to you might feel like I do. I don’t have nothing against smoking but when it comes to people I love I get scared because if something was to happen to them like an infection to the lungs or anything I would be devastated. Im proud of you all
I have been sober since April and I feel so much happier, have more confidence, and just overall feel better. Nicotine sucks ass and if you have never done it, don't. It ruins your life and your self esteem goes down the fucking drain.
Girly you can do this!!! I believe in you and while you may want to start again pls don’t it will be a money pot hole and I don’t want that for you! Stay stony and you got this girl!
You'll feel so much better after quitting nicotine. You don't need to cold turkey it, take it step by step. Once you do quit though, it's like you never want it again, and that feeling felt so good to me and maybe for you too.
But don't you want to vape once in a few months? Same as having a drink?
Proud of you! It takes courage to give up something that might be a coping mechanism or soothing mechanism. But you are doing it and your example will encourage others to finally start or stop that one thing they know they should. You go girl!
I loved your dress it’s so pretty and you look so good in it ❤
“ Frick vape”-Baylen Levine
the first month or two is the hardest part bc it feels like your brain is dying and nic will solve it. after that the main thing to be aware of is you’ve done a lot so far and if you go back in your stuck. so just try to get past the really shitty feeling part and STICK TO IT. i believe in you and your lungs will thank you when your older 🧡
I think distraction like you mentioned is definitely a good substitute, cause a lot of the time we just use it when we’re bored cause it’s so convenient
my dads a nicotine addict, has been for as long as ive been alive. as a target of his toxic behavior due to his drug issues, im telling you now that quitting will probably be the best thing for not only you, but the people around you who youve affected. im glad and proud youre making the first steps
Second hand smoke is also not talked about enough, i litterally have trouble breathing due to being around my smoking dad, and sometimes i even crave smoking even though im a teen :/ he dont seem to care or believe me thougj

YAS QUEEN WE LOVE POL THAT DON’T VAPE!!!!!!❤ SLAY!! Ur part of the cool squad now!!:)
you can do it, it's pretty hard but you can do it! my dad used to smoke since he was 13, he was 46 when he quitted (after having a cardiac arrest bcs he used to smoke 2 boxes per day, drink a lot of coffee and 1 meal), it was hard days, he was stressed and mad all the time, but 1 month later he was addicted to chocolate bars and officially quitted smoking. It's obviously not the same, the symptons of the abstinence are different for each person, but if you are willing to it, i believe on you that you can!
A more efficient way of quitting isn’t to stop all at once, just do it less commonly every few days until your body gets to the point where it realizes it doesn’t need it. Completely stopping out of nowhere will make it even harder on you, as your body will fight back and keep telling you it needs the nicotine.
i'm rooting for you girl!!
