To be fair, some of the brands - like Cobi or Bluebricks for example - I wouldn't call 'fake Lego'. They have simply produced Lego-like bricks ever since the copyright on those has run out, but they're doing legit stuff and pay for licenses just like any other proper company. Often times, their quality is even better than Lego for a better price.
Yeah I'm honestly surprised that a long time Lego KZheadr seems to be largely unaware to the world of alternative brick brands. Like there's a whole load of decent WW2 brick sets out there that Lego will never made themselves (because of their anti war policy)
I think they should be called third party brands especially if they make their own designs.
Mega Construx is still my favorite for just the amount of licenses they have access to. Pokémon, Alien, Predator, God of War, Splinter Cell, freaking Hellboy!

I'm not a huge fan of fake LEGO either, but at least these sets had somewhat original designs. The ones that copy official LEGO-or worse, *fan* designs-are truly scummy.

The thing about Cobi is that they’re not exactly fake, they are a good quality and have some amazing solid tanks. If you wanted a cobi tiger 1 minifig scale it would be around $75, but a beyond the brick Tiger 1 minifig scale would be around $200

In my opinion bootleg lego is only good for the figures and weapons. Normally it's the heads that are bad so you could just upgrade them with real lego heads

I bought an official Star Wars Lego set (Emperor's Throne Room) "sold and shipped by Amazon". It contained two fake/bootlet minifigures for the Emperor and Luke Skywalker. Only Darth Vader was the actual figure. It seems that someone bought the set, stole the original minifigures (worth about $22 each), replaced them with cheap fake ones (worth 3$ each), return the set to Amazon...they repackaged everything including bags...and sold the set again with the fake/bootleg minifigures. :( Hopefully, I will get an replacement from Lego as the four weeks of return policy on Amazon are already over (I assembled some other sets first and only opened the Emperor's Throne Room now).

I really enjoy your videos and especially this one. I'm a big proponent of quality off-brand building bricks for two reasons: price and variety. What I'd really like to see is a direct comparison between an official LEGO set and a knock-off, ie. the Medieval Blacksmith ($150US) vs. one purchased off of aliexpress (~$75US)

Knock off mini figures are so much better than offical ones if you get them from a good brand. Some brands make custom figures that lego havent made and sometimes make more detailed ones of already existing ones that look miles better than offical ones.

Sometimes, I was never into bootleg lego for same build or minifigs from original Lego sets that existed, but I am mostly going for the parts what I keep while the rest of the minifigure or a build ever been recycled or selling it. Great video, by the way.

In my experience, I'd say Kreo is the best offbrand Lego. They have some really cool pieces, and the Minifigures are so cool. The Minifigures have way more articulation in the let's and arms than Lego Minifigures. I suggest purchasing some Kreo sets :)
