So here it goes...I decided to make a soldered byzantine chain. Imperial byzantine, I used twisted brass wire for the outer rings and plain brass wire for the inner rings, thus creating the glimmering effect. The dragon head is lost wax cast brass - naturally my design - and it serves both as a clasp and as a central decorative piece.

Very nice. Have you tried it using a smaller AR and lessening your casting size? It’s very beautiful. I never thought about twisting the wires when doing a Byzantine. But this panned out perfectly, especially with the wire clasp. It gives the impression of a tail. It has my mind churning into some ideas now. Thanks for the educational video. First time I’ve seen someone solder a Byzantine chain , most sterling byzantines I’ve seen are unsoldered , is that because this one is gold ?
That's gold brass actually, I solder every chain so it won't break apart under any circumstances I guess...
