Why hoard old towels and sheets. I'll show you how to use them wisely in the kitchen.

Every kitchen needs an accessory such as a mat for washing dishes. Each closet has a special metal drying rack. But then the water will flow into the pan and dampness will accumulate.
I have two of these dryers. One is on the table, the other is in the closet. I place wet dishes on the first draining rack to drain the water, and each time I pour out a full tray of water. Then I put the dry dishes in the cupboard.
But there is a category of dishes that requires more delicate drying. These are wine glasses, glasses, holiday cups and mugs, glass teapots and the like; they must be placed carefully so as not to break. Of course, everything can be laid out on a towel, but this method is neither convenient nor beautiful.
For these purposes I use a special drying mat. I used to buy them at the store, but now I sew them myself. I especially like using old terry towels as a basis; they are light, soft and absorb moisture well. Moreover, there is no need to spend money, if the rug has become unusable, it is easy to sew a new one.
I decided to update my old rug, took a towel and the remains of cotton fabric, cut them into strips 5 cm wide. Here you can use squares, rectangles, or arrange the strips diagonally.
1) I will attach the stripes to fabric the size of a rug.
2) First, I place one strip on the edge of the fabric. Next, place the front side on the first strip and attach two strips together with one edge. Then I smooth out the seam.
3) Now I place the third strip on the second and attach it in the same way. I continue this way until all the fabric is gone.
4) Next, I place the workpiece on a towel and sew them together through a strip along the seam.
5) I finished the edges with tape.
6) The result is a small but very useful thing for the home.
