  • I was digging a hole, much smaller with my father, using shovels, and it took us around a month. Also, you get very exhausted by digging. So I don't know how long it'll take for this project to get finished; wondering why the rain seems to not affect the walls, considering that it is a time consuming project and, considering the vegetation and the soil, it must be a tropical area, where it rains a lot

  • Dude, the to baskets combined carry about 40 kg of dirt. That would amount to about 20 lt of unexcavated earth. (expansion factor to loose soil is between 1,6 to 2,2) Being 10.000 lt to a cubic meter, let's say they hauled minimum 200 loads per m2 excavation. Struktur looks at first glance 6x6x4 , 144m2 , about 28.800 loads.... Also, think about this. Each load would need to be removed from the site... Let's say 100 meters walk back anforth per haul. Amounts to 2800 km Walking speed 5 km per hour. 560 hs. 10 hs a day. 55 days for the 2 man team. And just for the earth moving. Did not touch a shovel, build or plaster.... Congrats to the team, equipment providers and drivers. If they did it alone, they should show their magic wands.... Awesome work. Really enjoyed every minute.

    @hanstwurst6456@hanstwurst6456 Жыл бұрын
    • Quick correction. There's 1000 liters to a cubic meter but otherwise im with you. If you do the math you quickly realize that there's no way they are doing this alone and without modern tools. The cement always makes me cringe. They just mix up some dirt and water and... CEMENT! I wish it were that easy but the sad truth is that mixing dirt and water actually leaves you with wet dirt. Also the way they always get water to their building is laughable. Unless the river is directly next to the site there's no way you can transport water with these bamboo pipes over a larger distance and still have that much come out at the end since the connections would lack alot.

      @adri-ep2nw@adri-ep2nw Жыл бұрын
    • I'm great at math. And I love seeing things proven by math cuz it's the only way to shut some people up. But I've also had every shitty low paying physical job imaginable and I don't even need to start doing the math here. One glance and I'd be looking for what they got done last year and the year before that and so on. Like archeology. How do they expect anyone that's not blind to believe this? And if you blindfolded me and walked me in and around I'd still call bullshit. And yeah the water must be glacial spring water from way high on the Mt tops.
