4K AMAZING 4K alternative to rebuilding decayed teeth: inlay
Large cavities, old restorations such as amalgam, bruxism, fractures, etc., can trigger the loss of part of the dental structure in some of our teeth, reducing its strength and taking away its function and aesthetics.
The vast majority of dental destruction problems are treated or resolved with crowns or caps that entail great dental wear, we must know that it is not the only alternative to solve these problems, there are now very aesthetic and conservative treatments such as ceramic inlays .
Inlays become part of the minimally invasive dentistry team along with veneers and faceless veneers. Veneers would be used on anterior teeth and inlays on premolars and molars.
In this video we will demonstrate in a model how a molar with a diagnosis of resident caries and amalgam filtration is resolved with a composite resin inlay. I emphasize that each treatment is different, and the type of material to be used is proposed by the treating dentist.
Chapters in this video:
0:00 intro
0:22 Anesthesia
0:39 Amalgam removal
2:12 Tooth decay cleaning
4:13 Cleaning with ultrasound
4:36 Acid Etched
5:05 Adhesive application
6:04 Preparation for Embedding
6:28 impression taking
7:16 Inlay cementation
7:38 Activation with light
7:44 Finishing and polishing
The purpose of these videos is to make the general public aware of the dental health problems that exist and the possible solutions that dentists provide.

  • I have one of these inlays and can confirm that they are very strong and last a very long time compared to regular fillings. If you chip your fillings often, this is the way to go.

    • @@asgard168 my inlay procedure was slightly different from the video. Mine was 3D printed at the dentist office the same day instead of having a lab create it, which can delay the procedure a few days. I had my inlay done about 10 years ago so don't exactly remember the cost. It may have been $200 to $300 USD on top of my insurance. Well worth it since it was on a tooth that kept on getting chipped fillings which would have cost $100 each time. My inlay is still in great condition, no chips or cracks.

  • Doctor, brilliant job. Such precision. Truly amazing. A question- Because this is an extracted tooth, you are able to freely access all nooks and crannies and turn/ rotate when your need to. In a real life scenario, the tooth would be a lot more difficult to access. In that case, can the job be done with this amount of precision and finesse?

O unico desconforto que o canal pode causar é o pós, que pode chegar a causar incomodo (nao é dor forte). Podem ir tranquilos que canal nao é mais igual a antigamente, que doía muito.

And don't go for resin inlays, you can get a composite filling instead which has same quality of lifespan, but ceramics is top decision but gold is the best :)

  • Congratulacions Doctor for your exelent videos. Well, you know Doctor, The "new", and the "modern" composits, not necessarily are the best in the patien's mouth. The composits : Have a low performase, with the years, they don't resist the years test. And that all the Dentist know it. But the Words "modern", and "new", and "esthetic", are good marketing words, But only that. When I Talk with my patiens ( I Have a Dental practice of 43 years), abouth the composits, I explain the good things of the composits, yes, But too, the defects and limitations. Good for you and your videos Doctor!.
