    • While you’re not wrong I’ve heard players are having a hard time playing with sid, since he gives alot of feedback and alot of it constructive. While thats all great alot of players seem to feel over coach though the ones who can handle his coaching most likely play better in the long run from doing so

    • @@bigtearsandpistols look you dont have to like it, and I aint trying to talk sid down but former teammates of his has said on record they hated playing on sids line. And alot of players, like those you mentioned I imagine can hack it with contsructive feedback after every shift. And have been better because of it. It’s not a diss or anything it’s just about diffrent ways if playing. Look at laine and torts, laine is grest player but having a hands on coach who want him to play in a way that doesnt come natrual to him as a player which makes him worse, doesnt mean tvat torts is a bad coach just that it’s nor a fit

  • The sad part of sports is that most fans don't appreciate greatness until it's over or very near it's end. Sid is as close to a playing legend as most of us alive today will ever see. Easily a top 5 player all time for me.

  • Sid is easily one of the best talents to ever grace the sport. The fact he's heralded as one of the best and still continues to grow and learn shows why he's had the career he's had. Add the fact that he wants to help everyone around him get better, gives them pointers and direction I could see him taking a coaching/staff job when he retires the skates

  • I said in another comment that I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. I’m still here and I cover the NHL or more specifically the Penguins. After being around PPG, the Penguins and Sid for a lot of years I can genuinely say he one of the nicest, most down to earth humans on the planet. What you see in public is how he is in private. Whether you’re a fan of a team that hates him or you just dislike him, as a major face of the NHL there isn’t a better ambassador to the game. Truly. He does even more than he is ever seen. He will go to children’s hospital etc with zero cameras alone and meet with kids etc. we got VERY lucky in Pittsburgh with him and I think he would say having Mario at that age to help him adjust was super meaningful too. They’re still very close. In the same breath I adore Malkin too. Two superstars with zero ego. Zero. Malkin is a bit more emotional over the game and it shows but that’s just because he loves the game. 87/71 both took pay cuts to stay here. They’re close friends. Crosby is over at Malkin’s A LOT playing hockey with his son. We are very blessed here. And I’ll say it one more time. Like Crosby, hate Crosby, think Crosby is a whiner to the refs (he isn’t. Listen to his on ice commentary. No whining), there truly isn’t a better person to be the face of the nhl. He’s a superstar on AND off the ice 💕 I always joke we just need Crosby to have a son. We got Malkin who had a son, we got Letang who had a son, now we need Crosby and we are set 😂 As per discussions in here about if Sidney would be a coach or not (he would be a GREAT coach), I’m not sure I see it happening on an NHL level. He is great at explaining what he sees on the ice and his vision out there is otherworldly but 87 has given up a lot of his personal life for hockey and the NHL and I just really believe when he retires he will want to have quiet and what he missed out on by giving up so many years. I could for sure see Crosby possibly being involved in like a smaller scale of a hockey team or working with Mario but I could really see him just going back home after it’s all done, getting married and having kids and then maybe running like hockey camps of his with kids as he does in the off season now but on a larger scale. He’s GREAT with kids. Sorry for the novel.

    • Think about it instead of doing that dumb kid stuff at college like most his Nhl peers, he came in at 18 and was pushed into the camera, so the whole hockey world saw him from 18 to 22 those weird years for a man. We put too much on these teenagers to young 20s sports players. They should have the room to grow and be disciplined until the world is put on their shoulders.

    • @@stupidas9466 I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here? So you think sid is head and shoulders better than Jagr, but Jagr was a much better leader and defensive player? Plus your last statement doesn't make any sense because you are basically saying that Sid and Gretzky were so dominate that not even Sid can surpass them? I think maybe you got your jersey numbers mixed up a few times and that's why it is confusing, remember that #87 is Sid's number, 99 is Gretzky, 66 is Lemieux and 68 is Jagr.
