I saw this man Live 10 years ago on the street in Ottawa. I was half a block away and heard this amazing sound and came running . All I could do is sit in utter amazement .He is in my apinion one of the best fingerstyles guitarists I have ever heard/seen , by all means show me better I think not !!!! Jim Anderson hi Jim, I saw him live too, in Paris. 10 years ago and me and my daughter saw people looking in such a strang and mesmerised way...at somebody. And we walked over and Came around and there he was, sitting with his guitar and the music hit us in the most beautiful way. We stayed for more than an hour, listening and we bought his cd’s... He is the best guitarplayer I have ever heard
it's great that you can enjoy his music that much, but that feeling is lost on musicians re: this guy because both compositionally and technically...it's terrible. The E string drone that runs throughout this guy's playing is the sort of thing new guitarists do because it means your left hand can also now play single notes all over without having to finger chords _in addition_ to the melody, something guys like Paco de Lucia do effortlessly and this guy couldn't pull off in his wildest dreams. it's a lot of flashy, but empty (and easy) playing. I suspect compared to other guitarists , he has very few fans who are musicians.

@@mackhomie6 Eh Mack! It might look messy... but I still enjoy the sounds of Estas to the ones of Paco. I am sure that Paco is better technically, but I don't feel his music nearly as much as Estas' music. You can say that some people are not concerned about the technical part at all, but mostly about how the sounds make them feel. I do understand that being a musician makes you more sensitive to technicalities, but I don't think that all musicians think that way. I hope that you'll find a way to listen to this and find some of the enjoyment I get from it. I would say that this compares a little to a trance music song compared to a jazz song. I feel transported by the changes in intensity way more than by the technical skills. Then again it's a really personal/subjective interpretation without any backing except my feelings while listening to the piece. Cheers :)
That was brilliant. How this man could get to the point where he’s no longer limited by skill, just by how much feeling he puts into his playing (which is a lot) is beyond me. This was beautiful

I started playing guitar when I was 12 which is like a lifetime ago.Not long afterwards I was given the opportunity to see three great classical guitarists in an old auditorium in Seattle , Al Dimeola, John McLaughlin, Paco Delucia and the opening act Steve Morse . We lucked out and got second row seats center stage . I was absolutely blown away with the performance and I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to see them in their prime . I've seen many greats in guitar like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eddy Van Halen and many others but that one concert always stuck with me as being one of the best ones ever .

I really believe that u have to build the passion. Passion is not always something that is just there. If you continue to play guitar over and over again (even if you dont like it) someday or sometime eventually the passion will follow up.
Just jam and take your time. It is not about scales, it is about pouring your heart in rhythm and truth.
Besides that is an amazing person and guitar player, i totally love how people take time while it is raining to gather around and watch/listen. Young and old gathered. All ages in the crowd. Not overly famous songs he plays but everyone is captured by it. When you watch this video...look at the crowd. Read their faces. Amazing really =)

It is remarkable that in videos where other virtuosos are playing improvisations on acoustics, there are always many comments of haters, speaking about the technique, flaws etc. But just skim through the comments section here - people are mesmerized. That's how you tell an inspired master from just yet another good guitarist.
Этот человек внешне похож и на пирата, и на лорда, но когда он сливается с музыкой, то относит нас в далекое прошлое, которое накрывает нас воспоминаниями, а затем побуждает задуматься о будущем. Слушая музыку ты ощущаешь себя то ветром, то ночным небом, то бушующим морем, то счастьм, которое объяло весь мир и растворилось в нем. Браво!!!!!
Я был на его концерте в Екатеринбурге, он выступал вместе с Netanel Goldberg and Joseph Pepe Danza. Эстас перед тем как начать играть обратился к залу и попросил убрать все телефоны, расслабиться и приготовиться к путешествию через свое прошлое (лучшие и худшие его моменты, самые яркие и радостные и самые печальные), в свои мечты и фантазии, в те миры которые вы видите во снах. Не соврал ни в чем! Я два часа с закрытыми глазами просидел. Даже не просидел, я не был в зале, я летал через все те места что он упомянул! Я прожил всё это заново! Все эмоции и чувства! Это были одни из лучших двух часов моей жизни! Если представится возможность, обязательно сходите. Вы никогда не это не забудете.

Необычно спустя столько песен его, слушать речь на Русском и язык очень важен для нас. Это очень мощный инструмент. Было приятно послушать его, и понять его на родном для меня языке:) Спасибо вам информацию про него, иначе бы возможно так и не узнал бы про него)

I just realised that nobody in the crowd is filming this with their smartphones. Everyone is living the moment, listening to this music, busy with dreaming, reflecting on their lives, just vibing Thats wonderful to witness
There's a few with traditional camcorders. This was 2013 so maybe smartphones just weren't as prevalent or at leas tthe social media culture around them wasn't. I know I didn't get one till about 2015.

Back then the telephone was yet to invent. Old times. We walked every day without shoes 20km to work my young fellow. These days there is home office and smartphones. You young people have a good life.

This is what I consider a master of his instrument. Absolutely flawless, clean playing. Makes me even want to drop my acoustic and get a classical guitar. Just stunning.
