I'm from Malaysia. We have a water theme park in our capital called the Sunway Lagoon, and they had a pool that had artificial waves. I remember my parents bringing me there when I was only about 6, really young, and the DJ was mixing to this song. I remembered it so well because its beats were just so addicting. Today after so many years, I still dance to the beat of this. Wish time passed slower. It's been 17 years since I first heard this song, to me it's still gold.

And those that are, we still appreciate those that fight for us, despite it was an inside job. Peace absolutely everybody, time to stop looking at our differences and find what we have in common. Who's listening in 2024 ❤
MAXI SLAYED THIS LIP SYNC SO HARD!!!!
Thing is, she didn't compared to what lipsynchs have become over the years, requiring acrobatics and death drops - but she remembered the real purpose of a lipsynch, to perform the f-ing song as a drag queen, and she did it flawlessly! No slayage, just tea.
Playing it in 2024. A song with good memories of the early 2000's. It will always be a classic hit🔥🔥🔥. Fan from Zambia 🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲
Sounds arcades zoona
This was the perfect hymn for the olympic games 2000 in Sydney!🥰A real summerhit with a great singer!🤗😃

This the sort of you can forget ever existed until someone mentions it or you hear it on the radio. Can't stop playing it now.
Natalie H nor me !!!
I was reminded of it when the ABC (Australia's BBC) featured this one-hit wonder for Australia Day. It unlocked nostalgia I never knew I had.
@@michaelrobertson714 it's not a one hit wonder. Amorossi had other hits with Shine, The Power plus her most recent hits a decade ago. But yes this one is arguably her best.
Lol i forgot it heard it on the radio and now i can't stop playing it
This song is fantastic and never wears out! It brings me back to the Sydney Olympics and since then every time hear it makes me feel happy and inspired. I find that lyrics mean more and more to me, singing along with this is like a positive affirmation.Thank you Vanessa for blessing us with your music and positivity!
Vanessa was amazing at the Olympics.

1999 must have been one hell of a year I can actually be proud of being born in such a legendary year
It was a good year.
@@wattlebough like many others tell me i can only give you credit
@@colinskumautz6097 That year Australia led the UN operation that gave East Timor independence from Indonesia going in first with 5,500 Aussie troops on the ground in Dili. We were proud to be Aussies helping restore peace after the departing TNI and their sponsored militias burned nearly every home in Dili to the ground.
Born 86 I remember so much from the mid/late 90s they were the best time to be a kid/teen
I hope she has all the happiness and success she deserves.
I was 11 years old dancing in the lounge with my family watching Sydney 2000 Olympic closing ceremony now im 30 good times. Blessed #LoveFromNewZealand

Me and my work friends heard the song on the radio and we danced to the song. Then our boss came in, heard the song for a second and joined us in dancing to this song. That happened today. Best boss ever. 👏🏻
We love Maxi Shield. Fabulous performance. Go girl! Come on Maxi. 12 points from the UK.
My God, what a tune! I'd forgotten just how much of an absolute banger this is.
She is spunky. Love the song. GOD Bless 😇🇳🇿
There’s just something about old music it awakens, soothes the soul❤️
I couldn't have said it better ... this just brings fond memories
So refreshing hearing old music that doesnt involve women shaking their asses and titts all over the place 🤦🏽♀️
It could be that it reminds us who we used to be, before things devolved in to the current growing chaos.
@@wattlebough People get offended by everything these days including this song in the old days of the peace and prosperity of the 90's, which was ephemeral.
We will never go back to that time, its alll iphones n shit now. Back then it was another world.
Life was so simple, beautiful and exciting back then, it was before smartphones, our culture was more fun and it was the turn of the Milennium. The last great decade of music❤
ok boomer
Her voice is like an electric guitar!
She really has a wonderful voice. It has to be said.
Who's listening in 2023?? ❤

Old tracks are the only existing portal to the past... Great piece..
Also old movies and tv shows.
It is incredible that an action as simple as taking a microphone from somewhere, Maxi Shield was able to give some of the best lipsync of the season and maybe the entire DragRace franchise
Always one of the great songs to get in the mood to start the day! ❤
I've always loved this song and Drag Race DU rekindled that love. We danced to this as a production number for a dance competition. And my team won that night and I won star dancer too! That was a night to remember. Maxi Shield sent me flying with that microphone rhinestoned for the gods! Haha! And I love me some Elektra Shock! I am rooting for her and hope she goes all the way.
They were just talking about this lip sync on “Bring Back My Girls” this week. Such an iconic lip sync for your life!
This is so early 2000s and me and mom driving around 😢❤
This song was everything to me in my childhood and it comes over my work’s PA and I’m like YEESSS audibly in the middle of the work floor, and broke down whilst stacking the onions 🤣 I will dance to a bop anywhere
This Song just gets to move me around the world...am dancing to this under the full moon, am feeling so good I really feel a part of the loving Universe. I love you, humanity to the world of love!
now this takes me back in time. wow. I used to go nuts to this track in the night clubs back in the day!
Listening to this song reminds me of what great songs we had in the year 2000 which was the year I was born 😅

I absolutely adore this song. I can still remember dancing to this song in summer 2000, it was a wonderful time back then, without social media and/or smartphones. It was pure life. Still miss it, because today, there isn't any good in this world anymore.
Really where you from, this was released in many countries in the 90's in 1999 and her album: The Power came out in Spring of 2000! Should dig CD album out and put it on my MP3 player!
Glad this tune came up, memories ❤🎉
It’s 2023 I never get tired to play this song such a great masterpiece during my childhood days ❤
I recall watching the Sydney 2000 Olympic closing ceremony and this was performed, had to special order this CD from overseas, great stuff
What a tune! The last time I heard this was at a cruise ship last year in November on the last day where all the crew went to the stage. Brings back memories!

The Vocals though 🔥🔥This lady is a firecracker ❤️
Absolutely every teen in the 2000’s loved this song. Guilty!
This kind of feelgood songs is what music needs today. Positive, happy and uplifting beats, unlike that depressing shit they call music these days. I hate 10s..and I absolutely love Vanessa and late 90s/early 00s music
MsLylals very so much indeed
🎯🎯👌👌
Your not wrong there my friend this is one uplifting song .
There need to be both what you call "depressed" songs as well as uplifting songs. If there were only the latter, it would seem like artists were ignoring the horrible things that are happening. But without happy songs we would all constantly in a bad mood.
I herd that after 9/11 happened a lot of musicians made songs based on the event and eventually everyone just kinda got influenced from it which is why a lot of songs today sound very gloomy but it’ll eventually die out once the whole country is sick of it
I'm still listening to this every morning before i start work
From 🇦🇺. Beautiful and great 🎶🇺🇸
I still love this song. Even thought I have this song on a CD single, I don't play it all that often as it's not on my phone library. So good to hear it during a KZhead playlist.
I had to find this song after I heard in the film "Ask Me to Dance". I love it! It is very uplifting!

Absolutely love 🥰 Vanessa Amorosi, what a great voice she has, very talented indeed. 🤗
My sister used to be a big fan of her. There was this club of fans that wrote to vannesa as penpals ..she's so humble. Fast forward to 2020 it's been almost 20 years .
This song always lifts me up to the highest level of feeling

Whose listening to this in 2020 meeeeeeeee, loved this song, was in university in 2000 this song was on my friends CD from in the mix 99. It was a good to be alive, pre 9/11, the world was more friendly, 9/11 took many lives, civilians and soldiers from across the pond also as those in America that gave their lives for our freedom, so to those that ain’t here now, I raise a glass to what you did for the world. And those that are, we still appreciate those that fight for us, despite it was an inside job. Peace absolutely everybody, time to stop looking at our differences and find what we have in common.
