Conor Benn cleared by WBC | Egg consumption 'reasonable explanation' for failed test

Conor Benn is to return to the WBC rankings after it was deemed his "highly-elevated consumption of eggs" was a "reasonable explanation" for his failed drugs test last year.
Benn tested positive for a banned substance ahead of a bout with Chris Eubank Jr, that had been scheduled to take place in October last year at a catchweight.
After the adverse findings were uncovered the British Boxing Board of Control prohibited Benn's bout with Eubank from taking place and the promoters eventually cancelled it.

But it is true. Several foods will make you fail a drug test. The most known is poppy seed bagels, which will come up positive for heroin use. It is so well known tat the rule is to never eat anything with poppy seeds if you are in any situation where you may have to take a drug test. Even Seinfeld did an episode on failing a drug test after eating poppy seeds. Pretty funny episode, Elaine fails a drug test, and her boss thinks she is an addict. He hears Kramer and her talking and tinks Kramer is trying to buy drugs from her.

Good interview - As a fan of Eddie I was lucky enough to meet him when John Morgan Golf Pro lived with me in Florida (Eddie was his manager) and a huge fan of Nigel Benn with a natural liking for Conor, I was gutted re the drug allegation. This is simple to get the truth re egg-gate. I really want him to be innocent by the way, all receipts for the past year for proof of purchase, and if then I statement is released that Conor has chickens in his allotment then we no its all a load of poultry.

Sounds laughable but actually it’s common knowledge in the bodybuilding world that a 30 per day egg consumption can actually mirror that of a mild steroid cycle… Eggs are the one of the most highly anabolic foods out there and are super chargers for testosterone… Whether this is behind the Benn case, who knows…. but yeah, Eggs consumed on that level are powerful
