One thing I should note: throughout the video, you might notice some spikes in the frametime graph. These spikes are caused by Shadowplay and not the game. I'm testing the new Nvidia App and 120 fps recording because I'm too lazy to buy a proper capture card lol 😅
Hello For nvidia reflex to work properly u need set ur fps to limit where ur fps cannot go down blow in reality reflex is for esport games for exmaple in cs2 u playing 2K/FHD 240hz screen and ur fps could easly hit 350 fps in any scenario for the game then u lock ur fps to 238 fps or with guide from blur buster(need some testing for that) and u have both good frame time and much lower latency. If u running ur game without fps limit reflex will never work cause ur CPU or GPU is too busy giving each other data. And if u dont know Reflex or amd anti lag is nothing else than old Flip Queue Size which are with us for l;ast 25 years u could always change it where 3 is default that means ur system i making 3 frames ahead before you see it and they wait in biffer, and Reflex + boost set it to 0 which decrease performance and it always was like that and values above 3 increase lag but increase performance.
@@MrBalrogos hmm Interesting, it's the first time I've encountered this behavior while using Reflex. I typically keep it enabled (On option instead of On+Boost) in most games and haven't experienced any issues with it before. Nonetheless, thank you for sharing all these useful information.
Well its ok..what ever gets the job done..we are here for performance not for Pixel peeping at 8k 😂...thank you for the hard work you put in..❤
A youtuber by the name of Ancient Gameplays just made an extensive comparison between different driver installations for Nvidia and found that the new Nvidia App performs measurably worse than the old GeForce Experience method of driver install. A little heads up, if you didn't know :)
@@benchmarking4386 if u use reflex without capping FPS Ur latency go up and frametime got mini lags it's the same behaviour in every we could say esport game
bro dropped a banger and left and comes back again after he has cooked another banger.
Haha 😂
I've already checked 2 other sources for this info and STILL learnt something from this. Very thorough, great breakdown!
my king ! I had my home page set to your channel waiting for this guide lol. Its great that you check multiple locations for FPS impact like LOD and clouds, that's not something others do.
Really love these You explain everything clearly. Hopefully your channel blows up more! You deserve way more subscribers and views.
best benchmark channel Ive come across, you will be my go to from now thanks for the work!
Waited this since launch. Thank you man!!! You are the man!!
I was waiting for your input, thanks a bunch
My friend! As always, thank you for what you do! I look forward to your videos for the games I play! Keep up the great work!
Thank you as always for these. Always come here before I begin a new game to ensure I get the best experience!
Currently on a 4070 super which runs the game maxed out at 1440 dlaa fg on at 100+ fps but i still love to watch these videos, i will never stop watching these
Currently on a RX 7900 XT OC playing at native 4k with no upscaling, or FG at 80-100 fps. Glad we're both enjoying it!!
@@TheRandomDude-qy1ev Yep, great experience pretty much every modern GPU. I'm running 4k DLAA 120 fps with FG + reflex (4080 Super). One of the smoothest games ever. It would hit harder if there were RT features, but great even without. Have to test later how well this could handle dynamic super resolutions (DLDSR).
@@Monsux My RTX 3080Ti is struggling a bit. I mean after optimisation it runs fine, but the 4070 super seems to be a lot faster in this game, not sure why. I'm getting around 70-80 fps when running quality DLSS at 1440p while a 4070 super gets around a 100 fps with the same settings. Thats a 20-30% difference for two GPU's that should generally be quite similar in overall performance.
@@dawienel1142 This game needs just pure raster performance, so 3080 Ti will perform better than 4070 Super. One difference is the native frame gen support on 4070 Super. It's working great on this game. If the native game runs about 80 fps, FG + Reflex ---> 100+ fps. Have you tried the DLSS + FSR frame gen mod with this game? Not as good than the native FG, but should be smooth experience when the game runs high enough frame rate.
@@dawienel1142 that's similar to what I'm getting with my 6750 XT 1080p native - high and very high settings = 70-80+ fps 1440p native - mix of high and very high = 60-70 fps 1440p with FSR2 Quality - high and very high settings = 70-80+ fps I'm playing on a 1080p 165hz monitor so I just leave it at 1080p native, can run it with very high settings but sometimes it has drops so I just turned a couple of things to high and that was it stays above 70 all the time, mostly 80+
Wow, man, it really helped! Thank you for this video, my settings were close to your suggestion, bur still need this final adjustments which I was not able to figure out.
I'll be referring to this in a month or so, once I've finished my time with Dragon's Dogma 2. In any case, I greatly appreciate your contributions here -- as all of your guides have been absolutely essential! Great work!
Man i thought i had the optimization down already but you clearly have done it more thoroughly, thanks for the video.
Welcome back great guide , thank you
I was waiting for this video, and it's here, I installed the game way before, but didn't start to play until your video, thanks man and love ya !
Amazing, as always! Thank you.
Excellent coverage as usual. Thanks for the analysis.
Always waiting for your guides my dude
Thank you so much for your work. I hope you realize how useful and qualitative your content is.
i watched every single channel with optimization guide for Forbidden West and as usual you made the best one
the way you present the video is very thoughtfully organized. As if you put yourself as a viewer and followed the steps carefully. Subscribed. I have the same card btw, but with 12400F instead.
I find a game, look your channel if there is a video about it or not, than I buy and play. I just naturally adapted you to my customer brain and am proud of it. Thank you so much for all your efforts! :)
Love your videos buddy as they help tremendously. Keep up the great work and God Bless!
Amazing work! Thank you!
This is my go to channel for optimizations after DF. But DF hasn't released a video yet, so I am here checking this channel. Cheers!
Make this the go to channel before DF, he caters to almost every performance and quality user. DF not so much and when they do, it’s super rare
@@amel0 on DF they just show howe it work on one gpu, like rtx 3070 and call it a day :D
DF is shit tbh. They only do comparison between PS5 and PC.
@@thefreemonk6938 This is wrong seeing as they as they have a few optimisation guides... Its not their entire channel though so I would come here for that stuff
@@amel0 this isn't even correct seeing as they do a r5 3600 and 2060/70 super combo in every optimisation vid they do.... This guy uses a 3060ti and 5600x to optimise... So if anything DF actually cater to the lower end more than this guy does. That's if they do an optimisation guide as they don't do too many. They arguably do more as they also give guides for higher end users as well as low end. Love this channel though as he does it for pretty much every relevant game
I was waiting so long for your video
Just found your channel , im now Subbed . Great content . Really detailed video . Thanks for your work
thank you for what you do! I look forward to your videos for the games I play! Keep up the great work
You are the man. I was hoping I would see your video in the results when searching optimized settings for this game. Always great detailed info demonstrating which settings have what impact on performance and that's exactly what I need.
i dont even own this game, i just enjoy the voiceover. you have a very unique and engaging voice and accent! :)

Thank You for your constancy and great work as always :) !!!
Thanks a lot for the detailed video, I used the new settings, the game still looks great and FPS is much better now.
You're just in time when I needed! I just bought the game today. 🤣 Thank you for the guide. I've been using your optimization guide for every game I've been played. It's easy to understand, easy to follow, and it works very well. Really save my time a lot than trying to test it one by one by myself. Keep up a good work! 👍
Love your work dude you're the best guy for things like this!!!
Thank you for your great work!
I love your videos, I always use them for my settings
you made my day a lot better
thank you for your magnificent work!

Well explained. Thanks! Appreciated.
Keep up the good work!
Amazing video, thanks a bunch!
You are my go-to guy for optimised settings. Nobody does it better.
Thanks . Was waiting for this one. 🎉
The Best channel!! 10/10 Thank you sr
i was waiting for this cause our specs are similar. Thank you
Clear concise explanations, thanks
The best optimization guide channel on KZhead, hands down!
Thanks man. Nobody does performance gain percentage in any of their optimised setting videos
Great Work, thanks!!!
Insane work
love your work bro❤❤
Good job bro !
What a detailed guide. I love the part when you compare the cloud system of the main game with the dlc.
i really appreciate your hard work ❤❤
King is back❤️👑
The MAN the MYTH the LEGEND returns! ALWAYS the BEST settings ~ DAY 1 MUST to start any PC game IMO
I never noticed the shadows affecting the character lighting, good catch. Saw some people complaining about the spotlight effect and I didn't understand them, turns out it was because I play with medium shadows. I gotta say, imo it looks way better without the spotlight. Ps. I though I had a lot of hours, but this man is at the dlc already, I haven't even seen that quest yet :D
King with another banger
Love the benchmark videos bro. I don't even play or care about this game I just tune in to hear ur voice lol
Great job. THANKS :) :*
You are my hero......Great job....Thank you!
love u sooo much! thx
Thanks as always.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Again top optimization guide.. thanks!
thank you so much for this.
bro u are a lifesaver, thank u.
ure incredible dude!
great video,thank you
Thank you very much! Changing shadows to medium was essential for my 3060 ti.
am struggling to get stable 60 fps what dlss preset do you use and aside from shadows do younl use everything else on high ?
@@omaralmeligi2656 No DLSS. LOD and Terrain Quality on Very High, Everything else on High now, locked to 60 FPS. It's rare to drop below it. Playing on 1080p
huge tks for ur settings, its flying my RTX 3060 12gb with FG!🐦
Thank you!!
The is the best optimization content on utube
Good work ❤❤❤
About to finish the main quest but il, still watch this because i love your vids, also i really wish this game had some raytracing, the shadows, reflections and global illumination aren't the best and would have been greatly helped
YOU ARE THE BEST!
best optimization guides on youtube. While other ppl just talk how to optimize this dude gives us real side by side shots what make the difference...
Youre The mannnn! Thankssss
Ia there streaming textures on pc or pop in? Wonder if HBAO+ would have a better image quality
I really hope you will find ur audience and strive as a channel. I would be sad if you stopped due to how much work vs the little visibility u have. keep going!
Thanks you for this Videos :)
Thank You for the Guide! Has anyone else noticed Frame Gen gets disabled every time you pick up loot? Simply search the loot pile and when the letterbox appears with loot info, FG gets disabled. And it will stay disabled until unless you pick up the loot and the letterbox disappears. I hope Nixxes fixes it soon as it is very annoying and completely unnecessary. Edit: This has been fixed in the latest patch v.1.0.43
this dude helped me realize that DX11 was tanking my frames in RDR2, now he's here to help HFW be an absolute banger. thanks for your hard work my guy!
Hey man i see youre using a playstation controller could u pls confirm whether the adaptive triggers are working in bluetooth mode please ?
Thanks homie
Good job brother
Genial video, me encanta que expliques a detalle cada configuracion, podrias hacer una serie de videos con clasicos modernos, residen evil 2, days gone horizont 1, entre otros
Omg finaly haha, im from Brazil and i everytime any game release i just play the game after your video 😂😂
Thanks!!
14:42 Hmm, as someone who has never played the game and never watched the beginning of the video, let me comment on the differences from this moment on. Some of the white parts of Aloy's outfit look a little paler, and it looks like there is no shadow falling on the NPCs in the distance. Even though I never see the image on the left, the image on the right actually seems not bad. 15:03 I couldn't see much difference between the two in this second image. 15:10 In the 3rd image, the lack of grass shadows in the close distance seems to be clearly visible, but I probably wouldn't care if I never saw the image on the left. 15:18 I couldn't see any difference in the 4th image. You have made very good optimization settings, thank you. The game can be played by selecting these settings blindly.
Thank you!!!!!
Thanks man
Thanks King
Thanks for your guide, it seems I was able to gain around 10-20 frames, making the game much more enoyable!
It wasn't mentioned in the video, but what are your thoughts on the stuff such as Vignette, Lens Flare, Radial Blur, Chromatic Aberration etc? Or does this have no performance impact and is it just based on personal preference?
They have no performance impact and they are purely down to personal preference.
