This is one of the most difficult songs to sing and Baekhyun did it effortlessly. In a language he’s not even fluent in at that. That’s genuinely so impressive. You can tell he really took the time to study it. Well done 👍

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Tourism Organization selected EXO as honorary ambassadors for South Korea, so it's a very natural thing that Baekhyun sings the National Anthem for both countries. But yeah haters are in denial and keep barking.

He said he was the most nervous here since he was born. But he did it so beautifully. He may said one word wrongly and a little out of pitch here and there, but please consider he only had 3 days to learn it and the US anthem is very hard to sing even for American singers. And English is not his first language to begin with. He did his best to bring justice and respect to the US national anthem and we are so proud and thankful for that. You did a great Job Baekhyuni. I hope you keep shining brightly.❤
Baekhyun was stunning at US national anthem. 🥹 I don't think any note was off pitch. Only the one word stripes is hard to pronounce with so many hard consonants in one syllable. The cadence of these two languages is so different. But both anthems were delivered beautifully. I'd say I'm on the floor but I already knew how he sings, so I survived. xo

Some mispronunciations too, but just as @R0VERKAI said, he did it beautifully overall, and considering English is not his native language, what an amazing job he did! As an American, I found his rendition to be beautiful, respectful, and just overall amazing! Way to go Baekhyun!

Never in my life would I hear Baekhyun sing The Star Spangled Banner at an official game. Our main vocalist absolutely slayed!!!!
The Star Spangled Banner is hard even for English speaking singers & BBH did extremely well. He amazed me. His rendition of the Korean anthem is always so good. When he turned & started walking off the field, they immediately started playing EXO’s Power.
You are right about the Star Spangled Banner being hard to sing because of the lyrics and the melody. I don't think he had a teleprompter to look at, so he probably had to memorise the words.
I have heard it absolutely murdered by quite a few US singers - so for a singer whose native language isn't English to slay it like this just proves his brilliant vocals to the rest of the world, not just EXO-L - so proud of him ❤
The melody of the SK anthem is actually more difficult. :) The main reason that the US anthem is difficult to sing is that it requires a greater vocal range than most untrained singers have. Even Baekhyun started lower than he usually sings to bring the high notes into his "sweet spot" rather than strain. But the best thing was that he added some very nice musical decorations or variations to the melody.
He struggled with the lyrics quite a bit.

what I love the most about this ,is how he didn't try to do some tricky runs to avoid the high notes or try to take the attention to his amazing voice like many singers have done through the years but he actually sang it with full respect without trying to take any attention but singing an anthem like it should be sang !! Never in my wildest dreams had I imagined that I would live to see Baekhyun sing the Star Spangled Banner and the SK national anthem! I am not a citizen of the United States but I think I have heard the Star Spangled Banner sung enough times to be familiar with the lyrics. Let me tell you, the lyrics are HARD to pronounce even for someone who is fluent in English. So hats of to Baekhyun, man!

Just watched the renditions of the American singers and now I understand why the Americans were amazed with Baekhyun's version. He did very well! Straightforward and respectfully delivered it. Unlike them who tried to add their own styles or exhibitions.

He said that he could do “so so so so much better.” I understand what he means because when I first watched it I could really see he was nervous, his voice sounded a little bit hesitant and pitchy in some parts, unlike how we are used to seeing him full of confidence all the time… he also mispronounced some words like at 0:54 he said sprite it should be stripes 😂 but it’s just Baekhyun being a perfectionist. I'd like to say that having been an EXO fan since 2011 (their pre-debut teasers), I would know when Baekhyun is nervous when I see it. Let me tell you, he was NERVOUS! But he did amazing, as always! For a second there, he hesitated on the second line of the Star Spangled Banner, but he nailed it.

Imagine singing the national anthem in a language that isn't your native tongue - could never😑🤣 I think he struggled with the first line but was able to get to the correct pitch at the end of the phrase. After that, it was SMOOTH SAILING. It's honestly amazing: he's voice RANGGG out in that stadium, like, HOLY MOLY!!! He was INCREDIBLE on that stage, that's for sure

LOL. I don't know the words to Star Spangled Banner (not not a US citizen), so I didn't notice it hahaha. But the lyrics are like from 1814 and can be a tongue-twister, especially for those who are not very fluent in English. I finally looked it up and was like O_O O! say can you see by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming? And the Rockets' red glare, the Bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our Flag was still there; O! say does that star-spangled Banner yet wave, O'er the Land of the free and the home of the brave?
