As if the Elves of Rivendell sang a lament to the passing of Thorin Oakenshield.
Goddamn right it is! gives me the same vibes!
Exactly, what I thought.
Just Rivendell?
Thorin would be lucky to get the Rivendell elves to sing him a song. Dude wasn't famous for his ability to make friends.
Exactly

Colm, loved your duet with Rachel. Also your channel is excellent. Thanks for all the great music 😊
Are we gonna get a nother duet with Rachel. Santiana?
Same here, love your channel. Really loved your duet. The contrast of Rachel's and your version of Misty Mountains is amazing.
Why do I do that?
Whenever I open Rachel's recent videos: "there must be Colm's comment somewhere" Whenever I open Colm's recent videos: "there must be Rachel's comment somewhere" You both should made another duet soon I think..
This was stunning in every way, and I love the arrangement! You look straight out of Rivendell, of course.
Big fan of your channel, thank you for stopping by and for the kind words!
I second Rachel, your channel rocks my world and i try to spread the word of Bardcore everyday!
@@RachelHardy ok
Rachel Hardy well done u smashed this song love it and the Skyrim song u did as well u smashed that as well.
@@RachelHardyyou did well. Keep up the great work. Do you ever think about singing other songs from Lord of the rings ?
It’s like watching a beautiful Elf sing the Dwarven song, with such a lovely voice.
" Who is she ? " " She's an Elf. "
No she is an angel
THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!

Id love to collab Peter!
I Love and Admire both of your works So Much Can't wait to see what you guys come up with :D
@@RachelHardy Can you sing rdr2 songs?
Oh man, I cannot wait to see a collab between you guys.
Woahh i cannot wait 😍
Imagine having her voice in the trailer for the battle of the five armies when the trailer first came out!
Anyone else “hit the like button” before even listening just because you know it’s gonna be incredible?

Me too :D
I admit, i did that. And many more times before that.
yap
Yup
Sounds like an elf was singing it. Amazing, like other songs.
You don’t think I could pull off a beard?
@@RachelHardy I believe in you Rachel! Lol
@@RachelHardy I heard a few other covers of this, but your is one of the best. I'm thinking it could be overlaid with the Peter Hollens and Tim Faust, to have a Soprano, Tenor and Bass or have you heard their version yet?
@@RachelHardy THIS was your chance to pull off a beard without anyone even raising an eyebrow. You might never get such a good excuse for a beard again. (Which is kinda sad. I would have loved to see a Rachel Beardy.)
Elf doesn’t do her justice, I think Tolkien would describe her as an Elven Maiden. Tolkein's Elves are ethereal, beautiful creatures in touch with both heavenly as well earthly attributes. I also think Tolkien would be amazed to see so many beautiful renditions of his songs. Absolutely beautiful.
*immediately hits like button* what a lovely song ♥
Far over the Misty Mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old We must away, ere break of day To seek our pale enchanted gold The dwarves of yore made mighty spells While hammers fell like ringing bells In places deep, where dark things sleep In hollow halls beneath the fells For ancient king and elvish lord There many a gleaming golden hoard They shaped and wrought, and light they caught To hide in gems on hilt of sword On silver necklaces they strung The flowering stars, on crowns they hung The dragon-fire, on twisted wire They meshed the light of moon and sun Far over the Misty Mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old We must away, ere break of day To claim our long-forgotten gold Goblets they carved there for themselves And harps of gold, where no man delves There lay they long, and many a song Was sung unheard by men or elves The pines were roaring on the heights The wind was moaning in the night The fire was red, it flaming spread The trees like torches blazed with light The bells were ringing in the dale And men looked up with faces pale The dragon's ire, more fierce than fire Laid low their towers and houses frail The mountain smoked beneath the moon The dwarves, they heard the tramp of doom They fled the hall to dying fall Beneath his feet, beneath the moon Far over the Misty Mountains grim To dungeons deep and caverns dim We must away, ere break of day To win our harps and gold from him! The wind was on the withered heath But in the forest stirred no leaf There shadows lay be night or day And dark things silent crept beneath The wind came down from mountains cold And like a tide it roared and rolled The branches groaned, the forest moaned And leaves were laid upon the mould The wind went on from West to East; All movement in the forest ceased But shrill and harsh across the marsh Its whistling voices were released The grasses hissed, their tassels bent The reeds were rattling--on it went O'er shaken pool under heavens cool Where racing clouds were torn and rent It passed the Lonely Mountain bare And swept above the dragon's lair There black and dark lay boulders stark And flying smoke was in the air It left the world and took its flight Over the wide seas of the night The moon set sail upon the gale And stars were fanned to leaping light Under the Mountain dark and tall The King has come unto his hall! His foe is dead, the Worm of Dread And ever so his foes shall fall! The sword is sharp, the spear is long The arrow swift, the Gate is strong The heart is bold that looks on gold The dwarves no more shall suffer wrong The dwarves of yore made mighty spells While hammers fell like ringing bells In places deep, where dark things sleep In hollow halls beneath the fells On silver necklaces they strung The light of stars, on crowns they hung The dragon-fire, from twisted wire The melody of harps they wrung The mountain throne once more is freed! O! Wandering folk, the summons heed! Come haste! Come haste! Across the waste! The king of friend and kin has need Now call we over the mountains cold 'Come back unto the caverns old! Here at the gates the king awaits His hands are rich with gems and gold The king has come unto his hall Under the Mountain dark and tall The Wyrm of Dread is slain and dead And ever so our foes shall fall Farewell we call to hearth and hall! Though wind may blow and rain may fall We must away, ere break of day Far over the wood and mountain tall To Rivendell, where Elves yet dwell In glades beneath the misty fell Through moor and waste we ride in haste And whither then we cannot tell With foes ahead, behind us dread Beneath the sky shall be our bed Until at last our toil be passed Our journey done, our errand sped We must away! We must away! We ride before the break of day!
I’m gosh I love this
Thanks! I was wondering how the whole song went, wanted to listen to it. Now I think that's a bit too time consuming...
I always look for this kind of comment and I'm happy when I find one so thanks for being that one :)
Wow thank you!
❤
Screw all those "pop stars" promoted by big labels. You and people like you, independent artists, are real stars to me! I bow to your talent. Every upload is absolute pleasure!
Thank you so much!! I’m glad you are enjoying the music 🙏🏼
I can't list how many better musicians I've found on KZhead who deserve so much more than actual industry people
you don't have to take down other artists to favor one. I'm just saying it
Bien d'accord avec toi ;)
But then we wouldn't have the songs in the first place. Like Enya Annie Lennox. For these other brilliant artist to sing there songs.
This is one of those songs that I can't imagine sounding good with female vocals. But that's what I thought about "My mother told me" until Rachel changed my mind on that one, I guess I will realize how wrong I was about this one in a few hours.
I was a little nervous about this one for that reason. I tried to change it up and give it a new vibe, we'll see how it goes over.
This may sound crazy and a very different genre but I think hurt by Johnny cash you would kill an I would love to hear
Natydredd has a Gaelic Scottish accent and it’s incredibly well done.
@@RyanJuliaWhitney23 Considering that Tolkein referred The Hobbit, LOTR and The Silmarillion from Beowolf, it's not surprising he imagined the accents with a Gaelic lilt. Such would the Dawrves and Elves singing be, but the Hobbit songs have more of an English West Country (Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, with a dash of Welsh - all Celtic) to them.
she is so good in this... i been hearing for 2 years.. nobody could do a better cover than her.. just amazing.....

If Bilbo baggins heard this rn, he would again be inspired to go on the journey😀
I closed my eyes and imagined myself in the middle of a forest sitting on a tree and singing this while looking into the sky. You made my day!
Maybe she's a nymph?? Even a siren?
Wow, never thinked in my life I could listen an angel singing like that
Ever since your cover of Toss A Coin to Your Witcher, I have been following your progress with glee. Seeing you progress is such a joy, the hard work you put into your videos really pays off.
Thanks so much for coming along for the ride!
I don't understand why people dislike this. I really don't.
Almost nobody disliked. Only 8 trolls ^^
8 Orcs, that's all.
They cried in joy and missed the button through the tears
@@naomiuchiha0906 that makes sense.
Sauron, Smaug, Azog, Borg, one troll, and three other orcs and possibly Melkor Morgoth, Nazguls, and five more uruk-hais that's all.
Ahhh I love Rachel's songs! Especially if it's the middle earth themed 😌
This is exactly how I imagined a dwarvish song would be like if it was sung by an elf. Loved it!
Brings me back to the shores of youth ...
This cover is worth at least 2 Arkenstones 🧙🏻♂️
omg TWO?
@@RachelHardy That's the bare minimum. Maybe add the 7 rings of the dwarves and we can get closer to the actual value?
@@franciscloutier6343 the rings made the dwarf even more greedy for gold ect. don't think it's a good idea to give someone all 7 xD
Maybe the three elven rings and all the gold in the Lonely Mountain

Ten times more soothing than any type of sleeping pills... This is a pure example when pure singing and ASMR collide in an perfect balance.
Honestly clicked because I'm a LOTR fan, also because she is beyond beautiful. Her voice is ever more beautiful!!!
We all have to agree it cant get any better than this...

Don't do this to me!!!! Thorin singing it was emotional enough. I'm about to break down darn it
woooooow!!! she has dreamy voice! her voice like an Angel
These songs... these are the only thing to show for Tolkien's genius. And people are still ready to spread his music. This makes me happy.
Amazing. Can’t stop listening.
