When i saw the redesigned Mini I immediately ordered a new Countryman S last August before the end of production of the last true Mini . At first glance you immediately know it’s a Mini versus the bland redesign which looks like a rebadged Ford Escape
I did exactly the same thing!
Agree, the new design lost the mini soul
I did the same and collected my new mini countryman 1st august 2023.
I’m not a big a fan of the interior of the new model. The interior of the 2023 looks so much better.
Bring back the old
Such a concise and crisp review. Thank you for listening to my recommendation of showing the old vs. new features side by side in one shot. It makes the comparison so much easier. Look forward to more head to head comparisons. Cheers.
Was an excellent idea and we're happy to hear it has improved the experience!
"listening to my recommendation"🤦🏿♀🤦🏿♀🤦🏿♀🤦🏿♀
I love old one 😂
The 2023 version still looks very cool. To bad the 2024 mini is a design fail. Mini lost a fan in me with this 2024 Desaster.
Rims look like on cheap toy. This car lost its character, less and less mini-like elements. It's becoming more and more like any other car, in this case a Suzuki. Good cars for the masses without character. I missed the most important facts in this review: the weight of an electric car, the cost of a new battery and the cost of replacing it.
Leather and Crome Free = Cost Savings..... but not passed on to the consumer.
Don’t look gd, the old one is nicer. N what happen to the union jack lights? Come on bmw.
The new lights are digital so you can configure the lights to have the union jack pattern in them
They grew up.
@@mariaclark5477No they are still capable of showing the Union Jack they just chose a different setting for the light.
the old design does look better, the new one doesn’t give me a cute mini look
That C pillar appliqué is the most awkwardly over design piece I’ve ever seen on a C pillar of a SUV
The old one win
Where are the speedometer, tachometer, odometer, and fuel gauge? The instrument cluster belongs in front of the driver not to the side.
There is a heads up display if I'm not wrong
Well spoken, great voice & a Fantastic Review 👌
Old is Gold, at least when it comes to the Mini!😂
Great comparison video. Love them both! If you prefer the old one, buy the old one they have plenty on the lot to sell you. Good thing is we have choices!
Excellent presentation, well done! 🙂👌👍
Love the new interior, however kinda feel the old exterior beats the new
what a wondeful side to side...!!! I wish this exist for every car...!!! Thank you.
How does the CPO work in the US? Is it any good?
Taste is indeed a personal matter. For my family the Mini Countryman Era is sadly over. We love our 2022 Countryman Cooper S with it's perfect proportions, saddle leather interior, sage green metallic with racing stripes and all else blacked out. Last but not least a head turning design - fusion between a classic and a modern vehicle at it's best! The new model favorably described by that charming lady (hired most probably by BMW) lacks that specific charme and could be a new Japanese vehicle - without any personality. The interior of the new model reminds us of a Fiat Tipo in the 90th (Sorry Fiat but your 500 is still a deal maker as a convertable). The steel toggle switches - a trademark of Mini - reduced to cheap looking plastic switches. The head-up display is the worst on the market as speed and info not projected on the windscreen but visible on a cheap transparent plastic display which flickers! We drive our Mini not using that failure and now the new one relies only on that if you do not like to monitor your speed turning your eyes away from road conditions - reminds us of our first mini..! Sorry Mini/BMW but you will not convince us that this new Mini turns heads or enhances our emotions while looking at it - bad proportions, boring plastic interior and no charme at all 😢😢😢 P.S. We ordered one but cancelled our order having seen that new model introduced on KZhead
P.S . Driving over 200km/h with our Mini all essential functions as climate control, etc. can be easily accessed as physical knobs and switches alliw an intuitive interaction without tipping on the centre screen and losing sight of the road.
@@thomasbecker8017This is something I would like to know about how the new mini assistant would work on controlling the climate with just your voice. I do like this car but I much rather decided if I would purchase it once I see it in person
Well said. I am hoping to buy one of the last of the "old" Countrymans that still has a little of the Mini old charm about it.
Come! She must know that the new model has no premium feel to it.
New may not necessarily look better than old for the Mini; the Mini Classic serves as a live example.
This new design is a breakthrough, glorious. The Best Suzuki ever made....
It’s a shame that they cheaped out the 2024 MINI Countryman U25, 2023 MINI Countryman F60 for the win because it holds its place for the best interior quality. Very disappointed about the 2024 interior and the lack of horsepower and no plug-in hybrid or mild hybrid either.
The new one stole the headlights from a suzuki swift. Old one looked classier
I love your detail comparison that the old vs the new! You are the best girl. Thanks.
It’s a shame they don’t do a manual gearbox version 😢
Agree. Shame they've resorted to and electically controlled "automatic"
Looks fun, bit different. But honestly, I'd just get a corolla cross hybrid for the peace of mind
The whole "synthetic leather" craze makes no sense. I'm not sure what these automakers are trying to accomplish. If they think that they are saving animals... they're crazy! Cattle aren't slaughtered for their hides, they are slaughtered for food. Leather is just a leftover by-product!!! And I'm pretty sure it's probably a lot better for the environment than something that's synthetically produced!!
They are doing this just to become famous. I mean Oliver Heilmer.
I can't believe that's a mini When once they were tiny and tinny But this one looks grand To travel the land As far as Papua New Guinea It's good for high people too And has even got room for a few Inside looks so plush There's no need to rush Just sit back enjoying the view So thankyou Susannah once more For showcasing the Mini four door Your reviews are five Star For every car That Drive has you speak for!
The office got a good laugh from this hahah
The 2023 looked cooler.
Mini's aren't "mini" anymore. Huge. Glad to see Susannah in the videos. Gorgeous as always 😍
Mini on the up and up hahaha
I have a 4 year old countryman S 2 litre and LOVE IT. the dash with those fab round dials the the large, it's just class. looks like a cock pit all lit up and had it since new. I do like the new Mini but its lost that beautiful classic look - I suppose they have to move with the times but I so wish they could have distend it more classic with all those bells and whistles now as Im sure they could have x
What color is the model you have in the video? Is is the Smokey Green or Slate Blue?
That is Smokey Green
Synthetic leather maybe fine for the first owner but after 10 years of Southern Hemisphere UV will break it up like a toddler with a Tim Tam. Great review
They've ruined a car model that I loved and I now hate
@Akennedy this ain't your daddy's vinyl/pleather.
Does the 2024 countryman now come with blind sport monitoring?
I believe so yes
Nice new Kia looking Mini
Currently my model is similar to the one in the video... I've been changing Mini for years (cooper, cooper S and now it's my 2nd Countryman). I probably won't change for the new model. In 7/8 years I will get another used one, with fewer km, but of the same current model (2022).
I think they both looked great😊
old version is much better than
Than what?
Looks slick
Can you remove the boot floor completely to increase the size of the boot permanently? This car has apparently 450 litres but my current T-Roc has 445 and seems to have a lot more room than the Countryman. Weird.
And if I am paying that much for a car, i EXPECT a bit more than "pleather," Im sorry synthetic leather seats & "fabric" trim inside. Thats just ridiculous!
The images of the 2.0 petrol were the old Countryman, not the new one.
The new mini I like the screen only all looks cheap try to put the screen on the old mini is more good than old mini screen
These are only Minis by name, not by nature. They are so far removed from the original concept and moving steadily away from the original design. It's a pity really, as at least the first models were recognisable as a modern update. Shame on you BMW.
Interior is horrible, mini have really gone backwards, not good
Old is gold
Am I looking at a concept prototype from 2000’s? In my opinion, it doesn’t look futuristic. Because of that, it looks rather outdated.
Love the new Countryman and have ordered one here in the US. Great, comprehensive review and very useful comparison of the 2nd and 3 gens! Well done!
It’s sad what happened to mini … sad.
Mini could've revolutionized their styling...its the same since I met them in a jackfruit party 7 yrs ago with my friends fortuner everest trailblazer and mux . Good thing not an ev atleast...
With bmw don't expect productions
@@tesla_models so true they just want sales
@@Ford-Explorer606 and remember they were threatened by rolls royce for brand independence..... actually bmw wanted to make rolls-royce a upscaled version of bmw but .... the licence for spirit of extacy saved them ...else
@@tesla_models yep off course... with bmw I wouldn't even touch with a 10 feet pole ...its that worst...either not entertaining like tesla for future enthusiasts or not what an audi or mercedes are offering in tech nor as reliableas we Asians ...its only their fanboys that hype about bmw
Older mini looks way more better than newer ones, the new mini looks like suzuki swift
Looks like a Suzuki Hyundai blend.
The new Mini is a very ugly Car 😞🤮 I drive the old one and I love it 👍🏻
I have a 2023 Mini Countryman exclusive . Love the look and the shape . Great fun to drive.
2024❤
2023❤
This new model gives me vibes of a Mitsubishi Outlander. 🤦♂️
Sounds nice but since you have to pay a monthly fee to BMW for CarPlay I‘m not interested.
I thought they reversed their policy after receiving significant negative feedback from customers?
It’s a bit Fiat 500L 😕
Had to stop watching, the echo of the studio drove me nuts.
And swift already copied it 😂
Was not made in England made in Austria and Holland
So now it’s a wagon?
its way too big now
To me the new Mini Countryman looks like a Hyundai Venue 🤔😔
New.one seems an eletric car. Beautiful but doesn't seem a mini. Its more a byd + land hover fusion.
I would just get a Kia at this point. Old one was better in all terms.
$63k for a small car your dreaming
It's not for everyone. It is a premium/luxury brand to be fair.
Why does it look like a mpv with the sides and back so flat
Union Jack rear lights on a German made car !
ORA Cat is the new Mini
Unfortunately, the new model is not beautiful. Not from the front, not from the side, not from the back and not from the inside either. From the outside it looks like a toy, from the inside it looks very cheap and not a bit premium. Bye MINI, bye BMW 😕
Sktr amck
Hahaha
Couldn’t agree more. I don’t like the new model. Looks like a toy. And the interior, well……but I think that i am going to buy the 2023. I really hope to find one in stock.cheers mate.
You ate something, If you Uzbek you'll understand sentence
New Mini ,big disappointment .🙁
Too bad these lose value so fast!
I'll start off with I am a massive MINI fan, and currently driva a Cooper SE. This new countryman, not so much. Now beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but truthfully, this is the ugliest MINI ever produced. It looks cheap with the removal of the clamshell bonnet and appears to be a cut and shut at the back. Two different cars have been welded together to make a frankenMINI. Ok, joking aside, I am sure this will appeal to people, probably not the traditional MINI owners. I wish them well, but oh boy this isn't a pretty MAXI - I mean MINI ;)
The New one make me🤮
Totally disappointed in the new model. Super ugly inside out. Not luxury at all. I totally regret that I didn’t buy the old mini countryman last year and now I need to look at the second hand market. Ugly design, I think mini need to bring back the old classic design’ 😢
Really don’t like the look of the new one. Doesn’t look like a mini any more.
Exactly..the lights are the wrong shape.... No curves on the body ....It doesnt have the classic beautiful vibe anymore. Might as well slap thr Kia badge on it
what the….
No generation mini countryman has ever been produced in the United Kingdom.
lol suzuki swift🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Countryman is not a Mini.
There was a mini countryman back in 1965.
Pls kick out that new designer
That C pillar is incredibly ugly. Yuk!
청바지가 잘어울리는 그녀 ❤︎
Shut up
Its a bad car for those who has kid. The transmission shifter put side in side with a/c control with not much difference
look how they've massacred my boy
No red, green, blue …. Limited colour choices
Looks like a Nissan
A total sabotage of the brand and the historical design, I wonder if they did some kind of change on the concept design department, what ever change the did on that department I would suggest to send them home, this model looks cheap as a ford focus, a destruction of the brand that happens when they forget their origins and they end up trying to look like others, they lost their identity like many other brands. And whats up with the price? they cut so many parts on the design they put everything pretty much on a computer screen and software, they placed cheap materials like cloth!! Really? and they kept jacking up their prices even if you say only 2000 dollars more, It is terrible design Im sorry but that will be a no no no go for mini sales.
The new mini countryman is big and ugly, theyve lost the whole point of the car
new model is fake mini and true audi. you guys ruined mini.
HATE IT, Bye Mini!
I like the 2023 better. Stop making it too big and ugly. I like it small and cute. The new mini 2024 beginning to look like the rest of the other suvs and ugly. The 2023 is way more detailed and more beautiful. The 2024 isn't simpler ...it is lazy on the details and thus makes it uglier. Oh...yes I really meant many times "ugly". Did I get across to the Mini manufacturer....The exterior and interior of 2023 mini countryman is fine...just try to make the engine and tech stuff work perfectly and less noise. The things they need to focus on fixing they don't....ughhh.
New model looks like just Nissan( not sexy, no passion
A BIG JOKE THAT'S WHAT THE NEW WHATEVER THAT THINK IS IT'S DEFINITELY NOT A MINI LET'S BE CLEAR
Old one looks cheap. And is OLD 😂 WHAT ARE YALL ON
Yikes !!!! Epic fail !!!!
