I've never regretted that I subscribed to your channel.
Considering this knife is an MTech USA Xtreme MX-8054, a knife made of 440 stainless steel coated in black paint, G-10 scales that are attached with machine screws as opposed to pinned, and is based on the in-game knife in Call of Duty: Ghosts, meaning this knife is less than 10 years old, I’m interested know the story of what happened to this knife and how it ended up in such an advanced state of oxidation in so little time
I suspect its not an actual MTech USA Xtreme MX-8054, but rather a knockoff....probably not even stainless steel. There a crap load of look alike blades out there just like it, some with pins and no screws. That would be my guess anyway.
@@GeneDuffins agree it's way too much rust for stainless steel. You know... you could have just boil the knife in distilled water ad turn all that rust to black oxide instead of going with electrolysis. End result is the same as ferric cloride but it't not dangerous plus that's the trick used before all todays processes were developed. anyway nicely done!
Also, if this knife is stainless, how the bloody hell does it rust? Something is as fishy as a whale's arse.
@@JamesHere-ou9xpeven stainless steel can rust if it gets in contact with salt or accid
Really like most of the work done but would like to know the reasoning behind not making the wooden handle the same width to me it seems like it would create pinch points when gripping it.
Liked the handle.
At this point just show how you made it rusted.
So beautiful a piece ! Thank you 🙏🏼
Çok güzel bıçak 🗡️ oldu 👏👏
Very nice result, well done. I like the way the wooden handle turned out. A suggestion re salt water, it would be easier to just dissolve all the salt in a small glass of hot water using a spoon, pour it into your big 'tube' and then add the rest of the water.
Beatiful restoration 👍 Congratulations 👏 Greetings from Belgium 😉🇧🇪👋
😮 Wow! Brilliant work!
Amazing restoration, when I started watching, the vid had been up for two minutes and there was already two likes, it took me 16 minutes to watch I can only assume the first two bods fast forwarded the vid.😂
Beautiful!
Why do I have the feeling this guy took this knife and put it in a salt bath or smth to rust it like that. No way a modern knife like this cand get that rusty
Well he did bevel the wood even before he glued it to the knife. And he did char it up only to sand off most of the charring. I'm kind of scared that he still had steel coming out of the handle's section; instead of using the knife barehanded, you need to always have a glove just to make sure your hands does not get injured
Beautiful Knife
I seem to recall a "clone" of an MTech knife like this sold at hardware stores snd gas stations. This was a few years ago. The "clone" was carbon steel to keep the price low. These knives did, indeed rust, being something like 1070 or 1095 steel. They were mostly a gimmick knife, but they would cut. They were just over-designed to look "Tacticool", but they did work.
Hmm yes, the forbidden orange juice 8:25
Amazing👍
Somenthing like it😂😂
Great work as always. The knife looks so beautiful restoration 👍👍
This video made my intestines inflamed
It's a new knife that is still being made by Mtech and artificially rusted
That 'rust' is paint.
Always do a sharpness test!
Rambo estaría orgulloso de este trabajo XD
Wire Brushes Work Wonders with A Little persuasion mixed with them.😄
On the one hand, I highly doubt that the knife acquired that much rust "naturally". On the other hand, I see many sloppiness in the finishes. He dented the edges when he pressed them with the vise. The handle should have been made a little larger and then lowered until it matches the knife, it was quite untidy and also looks uncomfortable to use.
Essa faca não tem corte ?
Fantastic restoration on this old rusty knife. I really love the handle. It came out really beautiful. 😊 I truly enjoyed watching you work your magic on this knife. I really enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing your next video. Stay Safe 😊
😊😊😊😊
What are the benefits of electrolysis over sandblasting and vice-versa?
“It’s perfect”
Funny for a new style knife to have that much rust
Clearly, that 'rust' is fake.
That looks like a tracker knife to me.
IF THE WOOD DOES NOT MATCH THE STEEL EDGES OF THE HANDLE, THERE IS NO QUALITY IN THE WORK. COULD YOU DO IT BETTER.
Why is the handle smaller then the tang????
Yeah, and the final product design of the handle doesn't help with the protection of the hand
Ferric chloride for what?
Eu queria pra mim
Not a fan of the handle. It looks like it would hurt your hands.
Yeah, very Nice. But you are using your files the wrong way
You rusted that knife yourself.
Why didn't you just cut the metal pegs off, less time consuming, plus you weren't keeping them to use.
That handle work is horrendous. Im not even going to mention the modern steel left in a bucket to oxidize to make it seem "old". You couldve at least made the handle the same profile as the tang, thats some lazy production to pump out a video if ive ever seen it.
didn’t like it handle was sloppy and t didn’t even sharpen blade
I think you just like to sand
Cs go hunsman knife
cod ghosts mtech
oi
Almost no pitting from rust so purpose rust for a view video 😢
Heat it up instead of beating the shit out of it No drill required
Cheap knife, it's a real cheap knock-off of the original...Not worth the time and energy restoring...
Another fake restoration channel for my "do not recommend" list.
Fake.
Fake rust. Question for you…when you made the handle were your eyes actually open or did you just, throw a blindfold on and use the force?
That looked a little fishy😮
Knife turned out hella dope, @SkillFullisM!
