    • Yeah, it’s a powerful callback when Lucy visualizes the memory shown here at around @12:38 Lucy is apparently around 6 with her Mom & Moldaver near the corn fields & trammin Shady Sands. Lucy had apparently conflated the projected scene & the faux-sun backdrop with her Shady Sands memory under the real sun. How psychotic do you have to be into thinking that billions of dead for the elite select few passes the utilitarian ends justifies the means calculus test? The twisted & disturbing part is that we can see this as a critique on the current state of humanity & how it could be plausible to some in power these days? To think that people could actually dream it up & believe in it with conviction is truly disturbing. Throughout history, many have convinced themselves on the justification of the worst possible acts. Like They said, many want to save the worked, they just disagree on how to do it. That’s the rub. There’s always another omnipotent being who thinks they’ve figured it all out & if they were in charge, they could fully realize the failed utopian ideals of the past because they just didn’t do it it right like I would. Mind blowing.

They both hated every second of it, and they both need to reevaluate who they are and who they want to be in this world. Everything Lucy grew up believing was a lie - right down to who her father was as a person ('if my dad found out I destroyed an entire community just to find hime, it would break his heart' - yeah, about that...). And Maximus idolized the Brotherhood all his life and now knows it is just as corrupt and rotten as everything else up here. Meanwhile Cooper has the first real shot at finding out what happend to HIS family for the first time in perhaps 200 years. THIS is how you do a season finale!

  • To casually learn your wife is the biggest of all corporate monsters and see your entire marriage shatter in front of your eyes. That was amazingly played by Goggins. They also strongly hinted at the existence of an Overseer Vault somewhere among the ruins of New Vegas. That's where Barb and Cooper's daughter must be and where Hank is headed. There's also lots of stuff for flashbacks to explore: What happened after Cooper and his daughter escaped the bombing ?How did Cooper become a Ghoul? How is Moldaver still alive? This show is so good, it made me (who never plays RPGs) begin Fallout 4 in earnest. Almost at Hour 23 of my playthrough.

Worked really well until Rob House (guy at the conference from RobCo with the slick hair and the 'stache) won it in a game of poker and kicked the inhabitants ~20 years before the show's setting. Yes, that means there's a non-zero chance he's still alive. Which would make him a possible Hank target too.

Too many higher ups, some in that room even, were caught with their pants down for it to be so cut and dry. The ghoul's wife not having her daughter on the day muddies the waters. Great show and watching it again with you guys is almost as good as the first watch

    @stejmon@stejmon14 күн бұрын
    • Yeah, and while it is easy to get caught off-guard and carried away with the idea of Vault-tec dropping the bomb, it needs to be remembered that they are essentially in a pitch meeting where they are trying to get the other major corps to, in effect, invest by taking some vaults off their hands. How much of that plan was *the* plan and how much of it was a contingency to ensure a return on investment is unknown, but clearly things did not go according to plan. We know from Mr. House that the bombs fell at least a day earlier than he expected (20 hours from getting the chip he needed for the Vegas defenses, but I don't think he's a "leave my plan to the last minute kind of guy" so it could have been several days earlier than planned.) Perhaps Vault-tec's plans were intercepted by Chinese spies (and given how closely Vault-tec is related to American military defense, they figured it was an American war plan) and China decided to preemptively strike, catching the Vault-tec execs with their pants down.

Not at all surprising that Vault Tec would have the same idea considering what we already knew about them, but maybe they were even working together. (Fallout TV Show) or B: Remake the game's story but do small tweaks to adapt it to a live action show (The Last of Us TV show) Cause everytime a studio tries to do a mix of both or goes to do their own thing without respecting the pre-established lore, it ends up bad (Halo TV show, Twisted Metal TV Show, Death Note, etc.)
